12-7-05 Thin white envelope from Marquette. It feels good to have one out of the way!

12-12-05 I am devoting waaaay to much time to worrying about where I will go to law school. How pathetic is it that one of the highlights of my day is checking the mail? (That was a rhetorical question....please don't answer) For anyone who happens to need a diversion (besides this website) listen to my band. :)

12-15-05 Accepted at Cincinnati! Received in a tall white envelope a little bigger than the size of a Christmas card. Incidentally, I also received an evenlope about the same size from George Mason, which was a "holiday" card. The card said that I should expect a decision by Jan. 30.

12-22-05 Merit scholarship offer from Marquette in the amount of $18k per year. Expected tuition in 2006-07 is $27750, so tuition including scholarship would be $9750

12-23-05 Merry Christmas!! Acceptance letter from Indiana University and merit scholarship in the amount of $5k per year via priority mail dated 12-21. If in-state tuition remains the same as it was last year (I know this isn't a safe assumption) my cost would be $8500. Due to in-state tuition, proximty to home, and quality of school, it would take something pretty special for me not to attend IU

12-24-05 Scholarship offer from Cincy received via standard mail; 9k per year renewable. In-state tuition in Ohio is reportedly fairly easily obtained (because my wife will be seeking a job in Ohio, I believe I will be able to get in-state tuition the first year........correct me if I am wrong) , so, provided that assumption, that would make tuition roughly 7k per year at Cincy.

12-31-05 In at Ohio State!!!!

1-10-06 6k per year scholarship at The OSU.

1-12-05 Acceptance packet from St. Louis University. 15k per year scholarship w/nomination for 1843 scholarship.

1-17-06 Lots of mail today! First, the good news; I am in at UK, which is a school I would consider as long as I get a decent scholarship. I was expecting an outright rejection from Illinois, but I am on hold. I consider that to be some type of moral victory, but all things considered, I don't think I will be in Champaign-Urbana this fall. I have to say, I didn't see the waitlist in my future at Loyola. I am withdrawing myself from consideration....Loyola seems like a good school, but the only way I was going to attend was with good $$$, and I doubt that I will get that off of the waitlist.

1-20-05 Letter from George Mason letting me know not to expect a decision before mid-Feb. I have a visit scheduled at IU on 2-10, and I am hoping to schedule visits to Ohio State, Cincy, and UK during Feb. as well, and hopefully I can make a decision during the first couple weeks of March.

2-15-06 Dry spell for the past couple of weeks. I have in-state tuition at UK. Also, got a letter today from Notre Dame telling me I am on the waitlist (They call it provisional). I am 99.9% sure that I am going to start looking for a place in Bloomington. I will be withdrawing from pretty much every school except IU during the next week or so. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.....I feel your pain!!!!!!

4-1-06 And with a waitlist from W & L, my cycle is completely over..... I feel very good about my decision to attend IU-B, and I consider the fact that I haven't received a single outright rejection some sort of moral victory. I will post more of my thoughts on this process at some point in the future.

Hey, I just noticed your note to me and thanks for the Congrats. My choice has pretty much come down to IL or WI. I've been to Madison and loved it. I'm going to check out Champain, probably in March. Feel free to send me an Email (fpvyanks@yahoo.com) and we can discuss as D-day gets closer. Congrats on Cincy and Marquette.
