Thank you so much for your wishes. I wish you the same. UCI is my number one. But USD is pretty high up there too. I'll need a lot of luck though thanks to my silly little score.
Oh and I applied to the FT program.
Thanks for the well wishes! I wish you luck during your cycle as well. I honestly don't have a number one..I want to see how the cycle plays out and then choose from there. Are you URM as well? GL!
I applied to the FT program, but would consider PT if it was offered. I'm not sure when they'll be releasing decisions for the PT apps. Best of luck to you as well!
I def don't think it's too late for SW! I would apply if I were you :) I wish you the best of luck this cycle and beyond... Maybe we will be in the same class!
Heya, I applied to USD's full-time program. Best of luck to you as well!
Thanks! The scholarship for Chapman is pretty great. At this moment I'm leaning towards the best school I get into- USD and Loyola being at the head of the pack right now, even though I do like Chapman. I won't know until I visit. And I applied for FT for all of the schools on my profile. How do you like living in San Diego? Best of luck on your cycle!
Thanks for the Congrats on USD :D I applied full time, but hopefully you hear back soon! GL!
Thanks for the congrats :) i hope you get in as well, I'm most likely to be going to USD!
I dont understand why you didn't get in :( im sorry about the bad news but I know you have even better things planned... It's their loss! And thanks for letting me know about the need-based aid.
Yeah I'm SO bitter. This is my second time applying and I'm from San Diego.... So the whole thing is pretty upsetting... I thought I would at least be waitlisted. Looks like moving away from San Diego is inevitable now :/
Yeah I did retake actually- My first LSAT experience was not so great, but I wanted to go so badly I applied to a couple of schools hoping for a miracle... If I were you, I would really buckle down and re-take (if you think you can gain at least 3-5 points) and then apply early next cycle- come back with a really refined application, a strong score and an early application and I think you'll be in no prob!
I hear you on that! Studying w/ a FT job is tough. Hiding your law school obsession from your job is tough too haha... It's easy to let something slip! But yeah, I think I'll see what happens with Wisconsin.... I really want to go to a big school with lots of interdisciplinary opportunities, so we'll see how the cookie crumbles.
sorry to hear about USD, I've been following the thread on TLS. I admire you determination and I know you will get into USD next cycle. Given your results, I will likely be in the same boat as you. Best of luck!
I wanted to repeat the sentiments of others that have followed you on TLS and say that you are an act of inspiration in "the face of defeat." I haven't heard back from USD but I'm expecting similar results to yours. I wanted to wish you the best of luck and if you ever need an extra boost of energy while working, let me know and I'll get your head in study gear!
I should also say that I'm an out of state resident, but I lived in CA for a few years while I was earning a grad. degree. Is Chapman a school you'd consider attending? I remember when I was driving around and got lost, I drove past that school accidentally and I thought it was gorgeous - haha. I applied there myself but still waiting to hear back.
Oh I know LA is atrocious for driving. If non-LA applicants want to deal with the "stress" of the commuting by all means, they can go ahead and do so. :) I lived right on the border of LA/OC Counties and they were totally different from one another. I've only been to SD once but I loved it when I was there. I also did a drive by of the schools when I was there, but not because I had applied or anything. Just as a tourist thing to do. I worked in both Santa Monica and Pasadena (a Rose Bowl internship is my "really cool internship" experience - haha) and I had to deal with 4 hour commutes often (2 hours one way, 2 hours back) and I will certainly not miss those. Not at $4+ in gas at least. And I will for sure take you up on the offer of messaging ya via email. It'll be like workout buddies, but of the mind. :) You have appeared to be one of the more "sane" applicants on TLS as some folks on the site can go a bit overboard - haha.
Hey, I definitely applied for the full time, but I applied really early. I had everything turned in before the early app deadline even though I was on the regular admission track. Last year I applied in January with a lower LSAT, so I'd recommend taking the test again and applying early next year!
Check out my recent status update. :) I included you in the mayhem. Just went DR yesterday.
I am considering re-applying but as a transfer student. I need to go to law school and begin this process. But with USD's letter, they made it seem that it may be "easy" to make it in as a transfer, which is always possible. I had scheduled to be at an info session with them today and they had the audacity to call me today. I missed the call because I was doing other stuff in SD but I was thinking "C'mon USD - Don't rub it in my face." :) I also drove past Chapman today for the second time. I liked the school in general. Waiting on a response from them too.
Good luck on SCU!!!!
Still waiting on four schools so I'm hoping that by the first week of May, I know more. I just went into review and am held at another option so I'll wait a bit longer, then reassess. Have you sent LOCIs to the schools? What the heck are Loyola and Chapman doing? Sheesh.
I don't blame you for not wanting to go through this process again. if you think SCU will be a good fit, then why not give it a try? You could also transfer out. However, the worst thing you could do to yourself is go to a school because you're settling. Good luck!
Congrats! I'm sure you'll love it up there :)
I'm almost certain that I'm going to USD. I know Loyola doesnt have any $$ at this point, and they havent shown any interest in me, so why bother? Congrats on SCU!
Wait, they didnt even change the status checker? What a joke! I just can't believe they don't even have the courtesy to review your file with equal time... Their loss!
Lame! I'm still "complete" from Loyola. Sooo over it! Anyway, about USD... I'm not sure if they would put you in the full time program just because I know there are people on waitlist already, and I think it's more difficult to get into the FT number-wise. But i think it's worth a shot if you really want to go!!! Or another option is re-take or transfer... Maybe they would see your eagerness more? (this was my second time applying btw!) Good luck!!
Sorry to hear about USD... But like you said, nothing to lose, right? Are you going to attend SCU and transfer? I'm just so happy I am going to be done!
Ding from Loyola. I'll be waiting for you at USD!
How did the negotiating for $$ go, now that you got $$ from Chapman? Did it work?
I got the scholarship info in the admissions packet/letter.
Hey - I haven't been on this site in forever. Feel free to personally message me your email and we'll keep in touch! We'll need to trade tips and keep each other sane. :)
I am applying this cycle, probably getting apps out in the next couple days. I've pared down my school list and am applying with my new score, but might take in June since I was practicing higher than what I got. Good luck to you too!
