Additional info & updates

I thought I would type out what these decision letters are like in case you feel that familiar uneasiness every time you open your mailbox. The rejections were all regular envelopes- of course.

1. Cal. Western- 2 small yellowish envelopes (it contained decision which was a nice letter and the other was for financial aid)

2. Loyola- Big Packet?

3. Southwestern- Large Packet with a lot of good stuff in there-even a magnet. (Admissions committee called me the week prior to tell me that I was accepted and that they were mailing out the packet)

4. Temple- Very mean rejection letter; kind of appalling really.

5. Thomas Jefferson- standard letter with a scholarship offer handwritten inside.

6. University of Denver- short, boring denial- I was surprised

7. USF- Same as Denver

8. USD- I'm still shaking in shock. Large Packet, I thought that they were sending me another brochure. Hell yes! I am so happy.

....and I'm still waiting on Hastings. The admissions dean called me and asked if I would want to apply to their LEOP program based on my Personal Statement and application. Otherwise I would be in their auto-deny pile. Since the committee initially met the next week (1st week of February) I worked all weekend and barely finished the extra questions and essay. That was tough, but enjoyable.

Hi, How did SW notify you about the financial aid?

Answer Questions

#1 SW notified me a few weeks after i filled out their online financial aid form. #2 I was beyond excited for USD! Let's see, I applied on...11/18 but they waited for my second LSAT in December to be reported which was right after Christmas. Yep, I got another 155 for X-Mas. I hope you get in as well! Good luck to you.

congrats on USD!

Thanks Everyone! I'll see some of you at USD-just message me with your email if you wanna chat. HELL YES BADGER LOVE hehe. It'll be a good change but we gotta keep up the Madison partying(if possible). Also, I applied to Loyola full-time.

I sent you an email

But you must have forgot that you emailed me. I'm going to USD for sure.

Mitch- Yeah, you're right! I'll email you after I attend the orientation Tom- I seem to remember Loyola had the option of applying FT and then if not offered FT they will consider you for PT-same option as USD MAMA- yup, already withdrew, good luck with SW

USD?

Did you apply to USD FT with the "I would like to be considered for PT if I dont get accepted FT"? Any more info for me to stress over would be awesome!

CWSD- does that stand for Cal Western and San Diego by any chance? I'd be happy to give you one more stressful fact =) But, really I hope you get into USD. I applied PT originally and that's it. My LSAT was too low to be considered for FT. Good luck!

Nice to see a fellow PT USD applicant. So you've made the final choice of attending USD? Did you go to their preview day earlier this month by chance? If so, let me know what you think so far.

Your so smart! Now I know why you got into USD. ;) I wasnt creative enough, and I knew it was going to come down to those two schools. Thanks for the info!

Ahchoo- Bless you. I am headed to USD this next Monday, March 27th to check the campus out for the 2nd time. I'm pretty sure I'll be going to USD, yet I am still figuring out finances.

When and how did Southwestern notify you of your scholarship? :)

1) Southwestern notified me via telephone a couple weeks after i filled out their financial aid-then sent a letter. 2) Cal Western- both letters the same day. The scholarship was handwritten on the inside, saying that a letter was on its way-which has yet to come. Hmmm....

USD!! Congrats

on this, and Loyola! I've applied to many of the same, and in at CalWestern (but no money). So if you go to USD, maybe some of it'll come my way! But of course, I'd love to be in at USD, too, even PT. As CWSD asked, did you check the "if we are unable to offer you FT..." box, re: PT program? This is what I'm thinking, as another LSN user w/ similar numbers got in PT there. I'm really hoping for the same, but my lsat's a bit lower. If you could let me know, that'd be great!! Enjoy USD!!!

I just got into UoP-McGeorge today. I missed that one when creating my list, but now I have them all posted :) Rainking- best of luck! I applied solely part-time as my LSAT was too low for FT. I hope you get in; let me know!

I don't get it. Our numbers are similar, my overal GPA is higher. I get in to USF, you don't. Your already in to USD and Loyola and I'd give my left arm for either of them. I wish you the best and hope to get in to either of those. I'm waitlisted and Loyola and before today, I was the only one. I haven't heard from USD, but requested part time. Hope to see you.
