you'll do great. -dimprospect
Hey Heather, Just saw your response on my board. I was looking at last year's numbers and we both look like we've got a pretty good shot of getting in. I wish you the best of luck in your applications process.
Represent! I wasn't too psyched about it at first, but I think it should serve us well. GL this cycle. Why no Florida apps?
i really do not want to stay in illinois simply because ive lived here my whole life, and i'm looking to get away from these cold winters (although it does seem that winters are more milder here in the last few years). the campus itself is great for undergrad. the city of champaign-urbana is ok. i dont think i could say i love it here. however, chicago is a great city, and U of I places very well there.
still bitter about last year's basketball final... plus you owe us a thank you for getting in the BCS game :)
that's why i applied to so many out of state. i've lived in L.A. my whole life so i'm strongly considering going elsewhere. really depends on my options. where are you aiming?
to be perfectly honest, i'm not sure how long it took to hear from them. i believe i sent in applications in early/mid november, not early action or anything. good luck this cycle!
I hope it wasn't MY coat...
The SMU dean called and left a message on my voicemail - very nice - and then I got this really great packet about a week later. No $ yet though... Just saw you were accepted to Emory, congrats!
I did send a letter of continued interest. The acceptance letter came in a normal envelope but I could tell there were multiple pages in there, so the acceptance envelope feels thicker than the rejection one. Good luck!
if ut doesn't come through, you should decide on smu. everywhere else is way too cold. just sayin'
thanks, but no, i didn't apply for any special scholarships. good luck!
i'm planning on doing the march 30th asw for smu. but i will most likely end up sitting out this cycle and start next yr. so take good notes for me 1L!! i would be surprised if smu doesn't offer you at least $15k pr yr.
it sounds like baylor likes to draw people in with serious scholarship money, but their gpa reqts and curve means people end up losing their scholarship and aren't in a position to transfer out to a better program. i think the smu gpa reqt for scholarships is 2.9
Haha, I'll be checking your page to see how it goes. With your GPA, I'm thinking you'll most likely be fine. :) Good luck!
Look before you post. Guess I"ll be looking at a WL/reject, then.
I got the WL letter from Vandy today. Meh. Any thoughts on where you'll be going if the waitlist doesn't come through?
I'm torn between going to U$C or Notre Dame. The first involves staying in LA for another three years, a thought that pretty much makes me feel sick to my stomach. Also, I'm a Bruin and the idea of being around U$C for three years is rough. ND, on the other hand, is lower ranked and not in California, and I'd be worried about job prospects. Long answer short, I'll probably suck it up and wind up at USC, unless I get off the waitlist at Berkeley. Eh. Are you originally from Texas?
Yeah. I think I'll go to it. With UT's wait list, i can go on with my life, i guess. I'm leaning toward W&M because of the money at this point though. I like Atlanta a lot, but I don't really know that much about Emory so it'll be a good chance for me to look at it.
Heather, congrats on your choice, and I'm so jealous of your scholarship!! I miss Georgia--you'll have a great time up there.
I actually visited Tulane when I was deciding where I wanted to go for undergrad, and I just didn't get a good feeling there. For some reason, I just didn't like it...so I figured four years (and one hurricane) later, I still don't think that I would like it. They do, however, have a very good sports law program from what I've heard/read.
