Save your money and forget about applying to Texas-Austin because you've got little to no chance of getting in there. Ditto for Boston College and Boston University.

Congratulations! I love the SMU campus....had to move away from Dallas about a year ago, but prior to that was really hoping that it would be my home school!
if smu comes through with good scholarship $$ i could end up there. but i still have some things to work out that would make moving out of state very likely for good scholarship $$
to you too. I knew you'd get in there. My guess for $ offers is three to four weeks? And do you know anything about ASWs? I was accepted over the phone and still haven't received the paper information, so I don't know anything about it. Congrats again.
i got my phone call from smu via msg on my cell phone, left at 4:04pm wednesday. acceptance package was in the mail thursday, probably because i live in dfw. not sure when the asw is, i'm busy with hw and haven't read through the acceptance mail.

My mom says it's pretty cold in Texas right now, so I don't know about that. If UT doesn't come through, I will probably end up at either SMU or Emory...Atlanta is appealing because it's closer to my GATORS! Is SMU in the lead for you right now (pending all of the $ you will receive from them, of course)?

i emailed maggie to make sure they received the sumners scholarship app package before the deadline, and requested an address change. she said they sent out a scholarship offer on monday. wasn't in the mail friday, so i'm gonna drive 45 minutes to check my mail and 45 minutes back. that's how much i'm freaking out knowing it could be sitting there waiting for me. if it's not there, i'll just have to hope it comes in monday and check for it around 10am. at least they sent something...doesn't look like that many people have updated their scholarship info for smu, yet. i'll be a bit disappointed and keep wondering about my ut decision and scholarships to safeties if it's less than $15k :(

I got $2500 a year for the PT program. Looking at last year's info, it seems okay. I hope you got your $15k!

I'm definitely looking at SMU, but baylor gave me some nice cash. I'm also waiting for george mason. Id like to end up at SMU, hopefully they can throw a few bucks my way!
I should also mention I'm strongly considering Houston. They seem to have a much stronger IP program and things that I, as an engineer, would benefit from.

It seems stringent, but it also fair. If they are giving me money to attend, I don't think saying in the top 50% is all that much to ask for. I also don't think I'll have a problem doing so. A number of my engineering friends went to law school. They said it's only rumored to be super-impossible because most came from relatively easy majors. It's just as "hard;" it's just more time consuming. Just what I've heard, for what it's worth.
Hey I have a good friend in his 2L at Kent...he loves the school and is very involved w/ their moot court team, which is supposedly great. Plus, 60K! That's really amazing.

I an't go to the ASD, so I am going to visit on March 23. Hopefully I will hear about a shcolarhsip by then cuz without $ it would be hard for me to choose SMU. Baylor I am only going to look at to make my dad happy (he's a pilot for a law firm and MOST of the lawyers went to Baylor, so they are pushing for it). I had an issue with my undergrad scholarship one semester because of the credit requirements so the Baylor scholarship requirements don't fool me! I'm sad to hear you are thinking of sitting out a year, but I will defintiely take good notes if I end up at SMU, or by some miracle UT!
I have no idea...but i hope soon, its time to make a decision pretty soon. i might call if i havent heard from them in a week or two
i just called richmond yesterday to see when they were sending scholarship information and they said next week...so hopefully we'll find out soon! ive decided to go there if i dont get in anywhere else, so maybe ill see you next year!
