Additional info & updates

4/13: Layed a deposit down at Gonzaga. I felt like I had to. NIU dropping to 4th tier is really influencing my decision even though it shouldnt... I have no idea anymore. Hopefully an acceptance from Kent would make it really easy

4/7: Well, i sent out the deposit to NIU today. Im still hoping that I can get accepted into Kent. IF i get accepted to kent I will undoubtably attend. Hopefully they will get back to me sooner than later...

03/21: Shocked at the waitlist at Marquette. Thought I would be an auto-admit. Definately not happy, will most likely withdraw soon.

03/19: Deferred at Kent. This is good/bad, because now it makes the NIU decision a little harder. Because I would love to go to Kent, but who knows...

03/09: Finally recieved the letter from NIU. Simple envelope. All that was enclosed was a form letter from the dean of admissions and a form which is to be used for accepting/withdrawing the application.

03/06: Got a call fom the Dean of Admissions at 9am this morning. Good news, he had just signed my admission letter. Im happy, since NIU is only 9k/year. Its looking like a real viable option...

02/19: Just got the first rejection of the cycle. It hurts because Depaul was my #1 school. Oh well, it was a stretch. Just makes Gonzaga look that much better. Came in plain white envelope.

02/17: Just got the letter in the mail (i was gone for a few days, so it was prolly delivered 02/16) from Gonzaga. It came in a medium sized white envelope. Inside contained an acceptance letter, scholarship offer for $14,000 per year, and a certificate of academic achievement (tacky, yet entertaining). Thats a nice scholarship, almost equates to a 1/2 ride, so i guess we will have to see. Plus its guaranteed as long as you maintain a 2.75 GPA!

02/15: Ok, so i got accepted to John Marshall. $6,000 per year. Came in a normal envelope filled with a couple letters, depost info, etc. As much as im happy to get an acceptance, i really just want to hear from schools that im truly interested in going to. Oh well, at least i know i can go to school in Chicago if i want.

- Called Loyola and Marquette: Loyola said i'm in committee and i should hear from them sometime next week. Marquette wasnt as friendly. I asked what the status of my app. was and he questioned why i was calling since they sent out an e-mail. Pissed me off.

02/14: FINALLY!!!! Happy Valentines Day present from Creighton. No scholarship information. I figured I would've gotten some money. Came in Medium Sized White Envelope, letter and FAFSA information inside along with a nice personal letter from Dean w/ handwritten comments as well. Still waiting to hear from Depaul!!!! They said i should hear sometime this week...

Thanks for the comment. Yes, they are the only schools that I am applying to. I live in Chicago and my husband is a 2L at Chicago Kent, so we're staying in Chicago...but I hear Chicago isn't too bad of a place to live : ) All the best to you this cycle.

It's nice to know someone wants you. I finally heard from my 1st school today. I know how entralling this process is but try to find something to take your mind off of it. Calling the schools this early in the decision process might not be the best idea. Just a thought.

congrats on gonzaga... i would actually like to visit but they are so far and was just out in that direction. I really liked that "financial break-down" sheet they sent me. Made it look so easy, I was just about to enroll based on that.... good luck with the rest - sit tight...

Hey, I just saw your post on my wall. Have you decided which school you are going to next year? I hear you that it is kind of disapointing that NIU dropped down to 4th tier, but I am going to start my own practice right out of school so I don't care about rank. I just want to graduate with the littlest debt possible. If you decided to go to NIU, definitely give me an email.
