Additional info & updates

4/15 - Haven't been on this site for a long while, but pretty much at this stage I feel real lucky to have the options that I do. Still waiting to clear up a few, but in the last few weeks I got the rejections that I was expecting. Both UF and Brooklyn. In the last month I have visited Rutgers, Seton Hall, Miami, and PSU, so if anyone has any questions about any of them, just let me know!

3/10- ...followed by an acceptance! I'm definitely happy with my options so far. Decision time coming soon, and still waiting on a few more..

2/13 - Letter from Seton Hall... letting me know that my app is complete.

2/7 - Got the official letter from Loyola... they have a very strange deposit system... 3 checks! I guess I have to start getting used to writing tuition checks!

2/6 - Received a voicemail from Loyola University, Chicago. Accepted!! Mentioned that the letter should be coming shortly.

2/5 - large envelope from Brooklyn Law... with information on fellowships. Well played BLS, you got me. Of course it wasn't a decision letter.

1/29 - back from a great weekend out I received a no-go from ASU. Plain envelope, with a pretty non-descript letter. I heard they have tough standards for out-of-state, but still a bit dissapointed..

1/19 - In at Penn State! The envelope had congratulations written on it... gotta appreciate the small things...

1/17 - I got an e-mail from UMiami saying "You have been summoned!" Of course it's just some Q&A online session, but oh MAN they know how to make this process suspenseful....

1/13 - small envelope from Wisconsin.. Rejected. Can't say I wasn't expecting this one

1/08 - PSU sent me an invite to a Philadelphia meet & greet. Anyone else get this? Have not received a decision from them yet.

12/26 - small letter from FSU. It said "Response Requested" on the envelope, but I was deferred (put on a HOLD category).

12/23 - Accepted at Hofstra! Large package came with a t-shirt.

12/20 - UFlorida sent me an email with the title "UF Law - Application Under Review". This is strange, because I confirmed with them last month that my application was complete and ready for review. Anyone else get this?

12/13 - UW-Madison sent me an email saying that my application is being circulated within their Admissions Committee, and a decision would be reached no later than February. Good to know... I know my credentials are on the low end for the school, but I'm still hopeful.

12/12 - ACCEPTED TO LAW SCHOOL! New York Law School sent a small, stuffed white envelope today. Glad to have an acceptance so early in this process... although I'm still kinda disappointed about Miami

12/9 - Small white envelope from Miami... Waitlist. A bit disappointed, but letter says they'll reach a decision by 4/30/07. The waiting game continues.

For everyone else applying to these specific schools, I've been told that FSU, Rutgers, and UMiami all will start sending out decisions this sometime this month...

Fee Waivers of Schools I applied to:
Penn State
Hofstra
George Mason
Loyola University

For everyone interested, ATTEND an LSAC FORUM when they come to a city near you... I did make a few decisions on applying to schools SOLELY based on great conversations with the deans and assistant deans.. also, many law schools send out fee waivers if you are on their list of contacts from these events. Some deans even hand out fee waivers at the events themselves to kids that they like! (unfortunately, I was not a recipient of one of these.. but my friend in attendance was)

Michigan getting screwed or doing the same to themselves is a bowl game tradition. Fortunately, it takes my mind off this law school stuff. Good luck with all this. What's your top choice?

I got the same thing around the same time. I think it is their polite way of telling us that they are holding our applications to see if anything better comes in later in the cycle. If not we will probably be in.

Interestingly we have applied to a lot of the same schools. FSU, UF, Wisconsin and Rutgers. I found out some interesting buzz about Wisconsin. A lot of places let you convert to resident status after your first year. Apparently though Wisconsin is not one of them. I have heard that they never allow this, so if you are out of state you will be paying out of state for the whole three years.

I, as well as buddy of mine, got that same email about that same time but as of yet haven't heard from them. We both applied in October and still nothing. Good luck on Miami.

If it came down to just NYLS and Seton Hall, which would you choose?
