Extra Curricular Information

Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, Honor Scholar (an honor at my undergrad. school), volunteer work with high school students and at a youth camp, mentor for international students at my school

other soft factors: super-strong rec. letters from professors I knew well and I received very positive feedback about my personal statement from two Northwestern Law grads (made me feel pretty good about it :-) ); I love to write and I had a semester in a graduate writing program, in addition to having had a few essays published, so I think my personal statement was a strength of my application

Additional info & updates

I scored 7 points lower on the real-deal LSAT than I did on my practice (old) LSATS. I applied to about half of these schools before I got my score (I applied based on my pracitce scores; I did about 15 old LSATS, including the Oct. 2005 one), and then after I got my score I applied to a bunch more that are in my new range. About ten of these schools listed above are total reachers now.

I only ranked the schools that I think I might be able to get into. It goes without saying that many of my "unranked schools" would be my top choices if I was admitted.

"Received" dates are approximate (all were sent/received/completed around the end of December and the beginning of January)

on GMU. I have a friend who graduated from their LS and speaks very highly of his experience. Also, I can't believe the dean is calling each accepted individually. Seems like a lot of time and effort.

Hey Hey

Good luck to you too - Pitt was not one of my top choices, but I'm slowly warming to it and am going to try and visit. If I don't get in to my top schools I think I'm going to strongly consider it. Congrats on GMU! (And with you on the LSAT - my actual score was about 5 points lower than my practices...grr)
