Extra Curricular Information

I am a very unique applicant, for all the wrong reasons! I will be posting a detailed explanation of all this when the cycle is all said and done, hopefully my experiences can help some future candidates figure out their chances for admission to schools.

Additional info & updates

I found out about my scholarship at UIUC when I attended the admitted students day, I waited until now to put it up because I wanted to surprise someone who I didn't see until this weekend. I think it is odd that I received notification of the scholarship offer at the admitted students day, but I am not complaining, I am very excited and will likely be attending UIUC next fall, the only thing that could make me reconsider would be full scholarship from WUSTL and that is not about to happen since they have done lots of scholarship offers and admitting already. Whoooo UIUC 2010!

Thanks for the encouragement. To answer your question, the Temple acceptance was postmarked January 4, and I received it on January 8. Good luck with your cycle!

Yeah, attend the best school you get into and f**k the ones that didn't take ya. Those two are nothing to sneeze at, by any means. You've done well, my son.

hey... i saw a few of the other posts on your wall and just wanted to say that I, too, am confused about why MN and WI rejected you... what are your thoughts?

MN and WI

I am not surprised by MN, but WI did take me by surprise. I was pretty disapointed actually, WI seems like a great place to study criminal law and that's what I intend to focus on. I am a nontraditional student with a poor GPA from my first attempt at college and a good GPA at my current school, my cumulative GPA is not that great because of this. I think the mediocre cumulative GPA turned off MN and WI.

i didnt consider george mason because i want to be in philly, and with a temple acceptance only gw or gulc will make me move to dc

WI

I think your theory about Wisconsin may be correct. From what I can tell, I have pretty much the same college history as you (as well as shockingly close numbers). I got into every school I applied to besides UofM &WI. I wasn't surprised by UofM but I am still scratching my head about WI. I read somewhere that they have quotas to fill from Wisconsin & Minnesota residents. It looks like I'm moving to Champaign.

Very much looking forward to being classmates in the fall! Feel free to drop me a line about housing or whatever; I know the Champaign-Urbana area very well!
