Is it safe to assume you aren't applying there anymore? Just out of curiousity..

I am - I'm hoping for scholarships. I'm not really sure what I would do though. I know I'll be in debt if I go to one of the 'better' schools, but... they are the 'better' schools!

I am SURE you will get a full ride to Cardozo, if debt is a major concern. But you may be better off at Georgetown (assuming that is your only choice, which I highly doubt). I think you're going to be pleasantly suprised this admissions cycle.. and figure, worst off, you go to Georgetown!!

Good luck!

Just wanted to wish you good luck this admissions cycle!

It's hard to say. I'd love to go to Yale, obviously...but I've had my eye on Columbia for a while. I guess I'll just have to see where the cards land and take it from there. How about you?

Fordham/Cardozo vs. Gtown
Saturday, September 10 2005 at 08:00 PM

Any idea what Fordham or Cardozo would need to give you to go there instead? I really can't imagine you getting some serious scholarships at Fordham and prolly a full ride at Cardozo. Do you want to practice in/around NYC? And how sure are you of that? Gtown places really well in NYC, from what I've heard/read, but you'll most likely save a lot going to Cardozo or Fordham. It's a tough call, but I think you'll be fine.

I meant that I really couldn't imagine you NOT getting the scholarships! haha.

Good job on being the first UMich admit of the new year. Now if you'd only change the date to '06 ;)

on Mich, Cornell, and Cardozo -- I'm applying to those schools, too. I also applied to Penn. Looks like you're already at Cornell -- is that right? Would you stay there, or do you prefer to go elsewhere? Do you have a first choice, or does it all depend on the $$ situation? Just curious.

Michigan!!

Congrats!!! So now that you are in a bunch of awesome schools, any favorites?

yeah

I can understand not wanting to stay in the same place for 7 yrs. It also looks good on the resume to have some diversity in your schooling. GULC is a great first choice -- though I'd also be very tempted by Michigan if I were you. Depends on whether you want to take advantage of those DC connections... And NYC would be great too, but you'd be choosing an inferior school (speaking of Cardozo and Fordham, not NYU and Columbia of course). Tough choices...I'll be interested to see what you do.

You mentioned on another profile that you had two LSAT scores. Is your posted score the average or the higher, because it'll be interesting to see what the schools do. I heard about the blackout at IC, and I still can't believe they couldn't find a single other room. In any case, congratulations on your acceptances so far!

retaking
Saturday, November 26 2005 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, people say it's foolish to retake all the time, but if you are reasonably convinced you can do better (or cancel if you know you didn't) I think it's often a good move, especially considering how much they care about a few points. As for Penn, who knows really? A couple others got deferred even after writing the Why Penn essay as well. It's hard to say what they look for. Good luck!

170, 3.66 (although LSAC was good to me--those GPA calculations are as secret as Dick Cheney's energy policy meetings). Congrats on this cycle, sorry about NYU--I've been waiting to hear from them for six weeks now. Good luck on the remaining apps!

thought you got a 179.

NYU/Columbia
Tuesday, February 14 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'm shocked they both didn't accept you. I noticed that some posts here imply you took the LSATs twice. How'd you do the first time around. Anyway, seeing that you've been rejected doesn't make me feel too good regarding my chances to those schools(AND you went to an IVY undergrad-strange). Goodluck and congrats on the other acceptances!!

Penn
Tuesday, February 14 2006 at 07:00 PM

I heard from Penn on the 25th of January Via Email. I did NOT write the "Why Penn" essay either. Gave the same PS I gave to every other law school. Guess I lucked out.

Georgetown. . .

Better options job wise in the long run. You wont even have to worry about doing THAT well in Georgetown because its viewed by Law firms more prestigiously than Fordham - which would increase your chances of a better job at a better firm. It's a better "long run" decsion. Georgetown!!
