I didn't hear a thing from NYU until my acceptance arrived. (no complete notice.) if it's been over 8 weeks and you haven't gotten a complete notice, you could try calling them, just to make sure all is okay.

Columbia - no doubt NYU - yes Harvard - no...just because people shouldn't get into all their schools. It's just not right. Good luck.

I was a bit of a special case at NYU, I applied EA and then they lost my appication which is why my complete date is so late. However, they still considered me for EA which is prolly why I have a decision and you don't. I have called them before though, and they were always very helpful.

I'm pretty anxious to see how it all pans out. NY doesn't really interest me, no. Living costs & weather, etc., are big turn-offs. I think both Columbia and NYU also are larger schools than I'd prefer. Although they definitely have a lot to offer, for me their strengths don't outweigh location/size. Yup, my acceptance came in a rather standard, large-ish manilla envelope. Hopefully you'll be hearing some good news from them soon.

I really appreciate the kind words. It really does put a smile on my face. I am too embarrssed to tell my family about UF as that is the school everyone assumed I would go to. Sigh.

i did take the lsat twice, but my first test had "unusual circumstances" - ie: there was a blackout for a couple hours during the test, so while i didn't cancel my score, i asked schools to not consider it. and good luck on nyu/columbia :) when did you hear from penn?

I will definitely be withdrawing from Fordham and Georgetown soon. Probably sometime next month. Hope it helps you

Hey- The reason you haven't heard from NYU is because frum, especially CUNY, people tend to hear late (from what I've heard). Stick with it!

In regards to your questions posted to my page... I heard from NYU in mid Decemeber. I sent Columbia and Harvard, letters expressing my continued interest, along with an updated resume.

I sent an updated transcript and a letter of interest. Good Luck!

I don't remember the exact dates, but I went complete in early October, before the EA deadline and heard in mid-December with the first wave of admits. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the message! No idea what happened with Harvard. I was preparing a letter and additional recommendation for them and then just got in out of the blue before I could send them. I did have a phone call with Toby Stock *before* I got deferred, but I'm not really sure why that would help. However, I have a friend who recently got deferred and then overnighted them a a letter saying that Harvard was his first choice. He got an email the next day from T. Stock, and then got a call a few days later. He hasn't gotten a decision yet, but, at least according to this site, almost everyone who has gotten a call has gotten in. I know this isn't all that enlightening, but I hope it helps a little bit. Good luck!

The call lasted 15 minutes and was very pleasant. He asked about my senior thesis, extra curricular activities, and what I ultimately want to do with my law degree.... simple stuff. I asked him a few things about HLS and that was it.

I will try, you know what is funny. I had a dream saying I got a rejection this morning and voila I got an acceptance. It's really weird, but kinda cool. I predict you will get ino Columbia and NYU and I will pray you get into Harvard!!! ;0)

Yeah, PBK is prestigious, but I'm not sure it actually makes a big difference as far as these applications go. Something to include on the resume for sure, though. Your impressive LSAT and GPA should be plenty sufficient, though. Good Luck!

i did send my most recent grades in to H and Y, along with a letter from a professor informing them that I will be receiving two awards at graduation. Thats about all I can do...

hey! i'm pretty sure NYU dinged me because 1)it's my alma mater and they seem to be a little tougher on us and then 2)it's really evident in my app that i'm going to pursue IP law, so i think that even if i did get in they know i wouldn't go since IP isn't really one of their strengths... but i applied because obviously i love it in NY and want to stay. oh well! i've got my fingers crossed for you. take it as a good sign you still haven't heard since it only took them a month to reject me. good luck!!

I was put in the reserve category and they said that they would not make another round of decisions until June.

Got my rejection from NYU today (ouch! they never heard of a waitlist?!). I'm done waiting around, so I'm withdrawing from CLS... which means I am now officially Penn Law class of 2009. Yay!

You should be a lock! But I would be nervous if I were you too, given their recent rejects.. HOWEVER you were not among the first group of rejects like I was (ironically, AFTER I withdrew! lol), so you might be golden. Besides nothing wrong with ending up at Penn!! Best of luck.

in the game and it seems you and I still havent heard definitevely from deffereds..i sent in little letters saying I was getting two awards at graduation and thats about it. harvard and columbia never contacted me after deferrals and yale emailed saying if you havent heard from us two days before your other schools deadlines, let us know. sounds promising...not.

im not sure why i decided no nyu...i started the whole application process thinking that nyu was the school i would most likely attend (at least of the schools i thought might admit me)...then i ended up having a lot more options, and money got thrown into the equation...after visiting, when all was said and done, penn seemed to be the school that would be best for me... oh yeah, as far as that columbia w/l goes...i really think that you should be the one considering w/d-ing instead of me...we have what? less than 10 days til the final decision? be a team player...

on UPenn, awsome school.

speaking of ultimate decisions...apparently columbia has made theirs...got my ding the day after i wrote that last one to you...not coincidentally, put my deposit down on an apt in philly two days later...will i be seeing you at penn?
