Extra Curricular Information

Nothing special. Lots of working (non-legal). Wondering how the multiple LSAT thing will go over... Sometimes, I like to close my eyes and pretend I only have a 164...

5/2 Final Thoughts

So the multiple LSAT things really didn't seem to matter after all. Very thankful for that. In retrospect, I applied to way too many schools and I wouldn't apply to that many if I could go back. Anyway, I'm happy this is all over and I'm anxious for next year. Hooray!

Additional info & updates

Scholarship money is per year

12/4/07 - I received an email from Loyola saying my file is complete. I think that I'm probably complete a few more places (at least Northeastern I'd assume) but they're the first ones to send me an email and make it official.

12/4/07(later that day...) - Email from University of Colorado letting me know that my application is complete. Also, I used the application status checker at UGA, Georgia State and Florida State and it seems my applications are complete there too, but no official notification.

12/13/07 - Fordham online status checker says I'm complete.

12/13/07 (later that day...) - YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In at Loyola by phone call and Florida State by snail mail. I feel great!!!!

12/14/07 - Accepted at Georgia. I cannot believe my cycle is going so well so far. I am absolutely amazed! I really thought my 147 would kill me and this is making me feel so much better.

12/16/07 - Accepted at Mercer with a full tuition scholarship! Scholarship is renewable if I stay in good academic standing. Kind of a back up school, but the money definitely makes them a contender now.

12/21/07 - Complete at Northeastern via email. They said I should receive a decision by April... thanks?

12/22/07 - Received Loyola Chicago scholarship in the mail today. Renewable as long as I maintain a 3.0. Postcard from George Washington saying I'm complete.

12/24/07 - Accepted at Northeastern with scholarship. Renewable as long as I remain in good academic standing. I feel much better with options!

12/27/07 - Complete at American via email. Not what I was looking for, but at least I'm complete.

1/3/08 - Complete at University of Washington by email.

1/10/08 - Complete at BC by email

1/24/08 - Accepted at American! I thought they had forgotten about me! Batting 1,000 and wondering when my luck will run out. (hint: soon)

2/4/08 - Crappy day, rejected twice... BC and GW.

2/5/08 - Accepted at Seattle. Big envelope.

2/11/08 - Rejections are rolling in now. Today, University of Washington. The dreaded small white envelope.

2/15/08 - Ok, I'm ready for this cycle to just be over! I'm hoping for answers from everywhere by the end of February. Here's hoping!

2/20/08 - Accepted at Denver (email) and waitlisted at Fordham (status checker)... I'm actually excited about the waitlist, better than being outright rejected!

2/22/08 -Accepted at Georgia State today. Letter was dated 2/6 cause it was sent to my old address first.

2/23/08 - Accepted at Colorado via a large envelope. Pleasantly surprised!

4/26/08 - Dear UCLA, just tell me you don't want me. Thanks.

5/1/08 - Never been so happy to be rejected (UCLA)... cycle is finally over!!!!!!!!!! Riding out the Fordham waitlist, but making plans for UGA.

Guess what. Your 164 is all that matters

What I mean is that you hit a 164..adcoms will be very pleased to see that. I think you're going to have a terrific cycle. Only reach might be Colorado because they are harsh to out-of-staters. Good luck to you!

bdk2008 is probably right

My understanding is that even if schools still average scores, if you improved by 8+ points, the just throw out the old score.

American

Yes, I applied ED. They are basically my first choice (though if Notre Dame comes through - a stretch, I know - I'd seriously consider it...) so I felt OK about the commitment. My fear is that I will be accepted but offered $0 in grants/scholarships, but stuck attending there nonetheless. Well, good luck with your apps!

Wow!

Congrats on the large jump in the LSAT; you should be commended! As another person that jumped a lot on the LSAT (not as much as you, but 9 points still), I think you won't have too much to worry about. You're should have a great cycle with your 164 and good GPA. Good luck!

Let's make a deal!

I'll give you 0.2 points of my GPA if I can have one or two points from you 164. I seem to be one or two points short of scholarships at some good schools. It's amazing how much of a numbers game this process can be. (Of course, that's good in a sense, and bad in a sense.) I hope you have some more good news coming in the mail!

Deal!

I guess we have a deal! :0)

Congrats on the LSAT jump! I'm trying to do something similar with the test this December, so I know completely how it is. Again congrats that's a lot to be proud of, you earned it.

Congrats on the UGA admit! Do you mind if I ask what state you live in?

Thanks!

Thanks for the info -- and congrats on batting 1.000 so far!

Thanks

Glad my profile could be of service. It's actually a quote from Austin Powers though. I only hope my PS was 1/10th as brilliant. Congrats on all of your acceptances so far!

Congrats on your cycle

You're doing really well!

Great cycle

You're having a great cycle! I have multiple LSAT's too. I was worried, but not anymore. What school is your #1?

Congrats!
Saturday, January 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

Added you due to very similar numbers and some similar school choices. Good luck on the schools you have yet to hear from. Hopefully I can have nearly as blissful of a cycle as you just had.

any word yet? I got a deferral to RD, which wasn't unexpected...I'm keeping a positive outlook though, I feel competitive for their PT program. Best of luck! If you want opinions on D.C., I've spent a fair amount of time there and would be happy to offer candid advice.

Congrats on your cycle thus far, and I hope things continue to go well. I'm glad to see the 147 turned into a non-factor for you :)

GSU
Sunday, January 27 2008 at 07:00 PM

heyy let me know how the visit goes and if it helps at all! and I know, they are really really slow... but i guess it's cause they get ridiculous amounts of applicants.

hey

congrats on all the schools you've gotten into so far! i am applying to a lot of the same schools and i hope i have the same luck as you. we are number twins but i got my score on my 3rd time way late in february so my cycle is really really late. what school are you leaning towards?
