Additional info & updates

LSN randomly deleted this section and Extra info for some reason. Here is the summary so far:

1/15/08 - Deferred ED at GW. I applied FT/PT.

1/21/08 - In at UGA via status check! Got the letter a week and a half later. I love Athens and their summer in China program

1/30/08 - In at American via priority mail envelope! D.C. is the only other place than Athens I would like to go. Excited about this acceptance; I'm hoping the trend continues. Was not notified of completion.

2/4/08 - WL at GW via small envelope. C'mon onnnn...

2/21/08 - Reject at mason via small envelope...the lowest of my D.C. choices, and almost free to apply, so not too upset

3/3/08 - Provisional WL at ND

3/7/08 - GULC rejection in small window envelope

3/22/08 - W&M WL. Probably will ride this out

In summary, it appears that American is the place right now. I'm too anxious to work and study in Washington, and, based on some research and thought about what type of law I want to practice, American is the best fit of my options. That being said, I will pursue GW as much as is appropriate and hope for a miracle.

I began prepping for the lsat in July; it appears that my waitlist waiting will take me at least until May and probably longer. It is hard to imagine that, all things considered, I will have been actively working toward (in the sense of applications and LSAT) this for nearly a year and perhaps more. Then again, I've really been positioning myself for law school during my undergrad and really as far as I can remember. To all others going through this process, keep you head about you -- time will go no faster or slower despite attempts to the contrary. Best of luck to all other applicants. I will try to update as I hear from GW and W&M.

i know this wait is agonizing! i expected a ding from gtown, so a waitlist was a nice surprise (priority wl if that means anything...) i'm on the edge of my seat for gw though. good luck, looks like were in similar positions.

UGA

I was involved all the way throughout college, President of a Sports Club and national competitor, Student Senator, Senate sustainability chairwoman, I worked alot with my college and major administration on some things and did 3 summer internships with the same engineering firm. Hope this helps and you have the same luck as me!

aside from a postcard saying my file was complete, no word. the more time passes the less confident i feel. the waiting is excruciating. we'll see... good luck to you!

Congrats on UGA! Wish I could say the same thing but not so much! That is a great start and I wish you the best for the rest! Keep the positive trend going! GOOD LUCK!

definitely sucks as I have been over here in Afghanistan since January and still have 3 more months left! I am pretty excited to be on the home stretch though! Taking the LSATs over here was the worst as I had very little time to prepare! Anyhow, I hope we both get into GWU, the guy who I talked to there seemed really helpful and was excited to have a veteran applying! I guess only time will tell! At least we both have acceptances! As for the positive outlook...life is too damn short to not be upbeat. Being stressed is not going to make the process go any better so why not just kick back and relax. Although I don't always adhere to my own advice I try to do so as much as possible. Who knows, a positive attitude is contagious so perhaps I can lighten others' days! KEEP IN TOUCH MAN AND GOOD LUCK! Drew

Thanks

Thank you so much for the well wishes! I think we should be hearing from some more this week - just my guess though as it seems like the right timing!

thanks for the congratulations. You probably know this, but I really believe that GULC PT is looking for a certain profile, not just good numbers. To be in the area and working is a real plus.

Thanks. I work in the city and definitely agree with the above post about that being a major boost for PT applicants. Best of luck.

Did you get into GULC? This whole thing is starting to make me nuts. Part of me just wants to know about all the schools so I can get this over with and send in a deposit already. I hate not knowing.

No, I wasn't at the ASD, but I was there the day it was happening. I have a good friend who is an AU 1L, so she was my personal tour guide for the weekend. Did you go? What'd you think about the school? It looks like that's where you'll be headed baring an admit from GW... maybe I'll see you there in August :)

good luck

good luck getting off the GW waitlist! assuming i don't get any last minute WL acceptances, there's a strong possibility I'll be at AU.

AU & DC
Monday, July 23 2007 at 08:00 PM

Haha, don't worry, you're not stalking me. I haven't decided for sure on AU yet, but it's down to AU, Tulane, and the Emory WL. I loved the area of DC that AU's in. It's a little removed from the heart of DC, yet close enough to be a short metro ride away. So I liked that aspect. If I end up at American I want to live in Cleveland Park. It's right on the red line and has lots of restaurants, bars, gym, bank, grocery store, etc within walking distance. Obviously it's expensive, but I wouldn't expect otherwise. I know you'd pick GW over AU, but what about W&M?
