Good luck to you, too! I didn't know how nerve wracking this all would be. Sorry to see about Whittier, but you've got plenty of options still open. Think positive.

Thanks!

Don't feel bad I just got my rejection letter today from Dayton... I don't know what to do except wait another year. What are your plans? Where just rejected for admission to St. Thomas for now, and have a chance for the Conditional Program?

Low Score
Thursday, August 11 2005 at 08:00 PM

Hi I also had a low score, (135) and I am not happy about it, nonetheless I will retesti n October and hope for the best. But I am not going to give up and you should'nt either. I am taking Powerscore , perjaps it will help me, but how much more can it jump with a 135? I need atleast a 155 to average out decently. Whittier told me that If I get a 160, they will forget the 135, whatever. I know that it is not realistic, but I am shooting for atleast a 155-156. I did not study at all, had no time, but I will this time. Good Luck to you and DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!

Are you going to retest?
Thursday, August 11 2005 at 08:00 PM

Are you thinking of doing the test again? I think that you should. My numbers are not far from yours, and I am expecting several rejections in the next few weeks, but I am determined to get in somewhere. 135/2.9 I am certain of one thing for sure, keeping my numbers will not get me in anywhere. Test again. You will make it in somewhere. Good Luck

Cooley Law
Wednesday, August 24 2005 at 08:00 PM

You may want to look at Cooley Law in Lansing, MI. No offense, but they take just about anyone. You can always transfer. It is mid-Michigan which granted is no NYC, but you can always transfer later. And, hey, school is going to be challenging enough anyhow, no need for distractions... GOod luck

nova?
Wednesday, July 13 2005 at 08:00 PM

You should look into Nova Law and UDC (Univ of District of columbia)

Please Tell...

Hey man
Tuesday, February 07 2006 at 07:00 PM

how does cooley index your numbers, i think i read somewhere on here earlier that you said they multiply the GPA x 15 and add your lsat.........is that true?

Try
Monday, January 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

taking a prep course, if you have not and practice, practice, practice the exam. I am waiting until next cycle to apply because of my GPA. I have decided to get a Master's in Education. Keep your head up.

thanks for the nice words
Friday, September 09 2005 at 08:00 PM

I wish everyone to get into the school of there choice and to succeed in life .

hey bro
Monday, March 13 2006 at 07:00 PM

you got a masters from a good school, lucky guy. Good luck on St. Johns, I hope it comes through for ya. If not bro, the city is full of decent jobs for people with your degree and LSAT for Dummies brought my score up a lot, it couldnt hurt.

Standardized test mean crap!!!!
Thursday, April 06 2006 at 08:00 PM

I had a less than average LSAT score, ACT scores, SAT, and all the other aptitude exams. I've still managed to do well in school. I worked outside jobs totaling 30 plus hours a week and finished two majors and two minors with a certificate bizness program and still came out alright with various awards in 4 yrs. I took 15+ hours most semesters. Yeah, it's easy to take 12 hours with no outside job or other responsibilities and a few club or org responsibilities and make at least a 3.75 or 4.00 (I did without probelm to get a feel for how difficult course loads would be), My point is that if you are dedicated and really want to go you will get in somewhere. My only hope was to get accepted even if it meant Podunk School of Law. Sacrifice is key..that being working at the LSAT for another year until it is good enough..writing a personal statement deserving of a literary award (could take half a year and several revisions)...and getting great recommendations or if need be building relations with recommenders anyway you can. I went to a top 50 institution could be Big10 or Big 12. You went to NYU you can get in somewhere. I wouldn't give up law for something less desirable in terms of work but with better pay.

to the person who left the nice message
Friday, September 09 2005 at 08:00 PM

I really have to laugh at what you said because you have to put people down to make your self feel good. I have a very low LSAT score , or put more blunty a crappy one . I probally have alot of things that you wish you could have but never will . I could be a poor guy with no money or a guy with more money then you will ever have in your life.We are not here to compare who is better or smarter . there are alot of people who just do not do well on the LSAT for many reason. I have a LD in reading and writing but that will never stop me from obtaining a law degree .I really wish everyone good luck and have a great summer

good luck
Saturday, August 27 2005 at 08:00 PM

hey... sorry about the rejections... but everything happens for a reason. maybe not getting into law school this year will bring something else in your life. i love that you are so positive-- you are incredibly encouraging. with your persistance and optimism, you will be able to get anywhere in life.

Cooley
Wednesday, May 10 2006 at 08:00 PM

You need at least a 142 for Cooley to take you, you should retest though, with the new aba/lsac rule about highest scores being the one to use, many law schools are looking only at your highest score. A few extra hours of studying could improve your chances if this is what you really want.

Do something else bro
Sunday, January 29 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'm sure you're a good guy, but a 2.44 GPA and a 138 LSAT just doesnt cut it. There are almost no ABA approved law schools that will take you, and if you go the non-ABA school route you are throwing your money and time away.

Not True
Wednesday, August 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I know a few attorneys for the SEC and NASDAQ that went to Non-ABA schools. You are correct to assume that the path to success may take a little longer, and it may be tougher to get a good job right out of school, but once you pass the bar you are in the same boat as everyone else; you are a licensed attorney!

LD & LSAT
Wednesday, August 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I believe you can have additional time given to you if you have a LD and documentation of the LD from a doctor. In fact I know you can have extra time on the test.
