Complete = confirmation email or letter received from school

9/11/07 -- Sent Apps to Buffalo, Villanova and Temple

9/18/07 -- E-mail from Temple thanking me for my application

9/28/07 -- Sent Apps to Denver and Arizona

10/2/07 -- Temple complete via email

10/9/07 -- Villanova thanks for application via e-mail (I think it meant I was complete)

10/25/07 -- All LSAC reports ordered by schools

11/5/07 -- University of Arizona complete via email

11/16/07 -- University of Denver complete via online status checker

11/20/07 -- University at Buffalo complete via email

11/30/07 -- Accepted at University of Denver via online status checker (It lets me apply for housing and see my student account so I'm assuming that means I'm in)

12/3/07 -- Official acceptance via email from University of Denver

12/4/07 -- $20,000.00/year scholarship renewable for 3 years from University of Denver via email

12/10/07 -- Received large envelope from DU with the same letters that I received via email and some additional info about the school.

12/15/07 -- Accepted at Temple via mail. Large Envelope with Temple folder. A little upset with lack of scholarship offer (thought I had a good shot based on last year's numbers)

12/19/07 -- Villanova decision mailed via online status checker. I wonder why they can't just say yea or nay online...

12/24/07 -- Got home from visiting folks to acceptances from Villanova (small envelope) and UB (large envelope with folder and 2000/yr scholarship offer) Merry Christmas to me!

01/15/08 -- Not sure about this whole law school thing anymore... definitely withdrawing from Villanova and Temple because I'm not getting into that much debt... probably gonna be either UB or Denver

03/13/08 -- Change of heart. I believe that I will be attending UB in the fall. Just need to talk it over with the wife a little bit more.

03/20/08 -- I've decided (again) not to attend law school at this time. I'll leave my cycle up so everyone can see what a middle of the road kinda applicant can do.

10/26/15 - Employer will pay for law school, so applying part time to SMU

12/14/15 - Admitted to SMU Dedman part time program with $30,000/year Dean's scholarship

4/18/16 - SMU is getting rid of their part time program, so withdrew application

UB is actually my first choice. 1) Great labor law program from what I hear 2) I want to stay in either Buffalo or perhaps work in Albany 3) My wife is finishing her masters degree there 4) In state tuition is certainly GREAT

CONGRATS ON YOUR UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ACCEPTANCE ! January 8th begins our Bridge Term (unique to UB Law !). First year law students have an intensive 4 week session with the terrific law librarians who help make us proficient with West Law and Lexis Nexis. I'm also able to take an intensive workshop on Mediation during Bridge Term as well ! Wish you the best and hope to see you here in the fall !

Thanks for your note

Thanks for your note ! I just note that both University at Buffalo and Denver are tied in the ratings. UB is already a super school and all factors show that it is going to move higher: --5 NEW faculty added this year. --5 MORE NEW faculty added next year. --4 Fabulous Finalists for the next Dean of the Law School. --Gov. Spitzer making a pledge to make SUNY competitive with the University of California system ...meaning much more $$ heading to SUNY. Best wishes on your decision !

It looks like you withdrew all your applications...If it is down to UB or Denver...note that they are TIED in the national rankings and UB is one heck of a lot less expensive. Whatever you do, I wish you the very best. If you do choose UB Law, I hope to connect up with you in the fall !
