So just as an update... Florida and Miami came in a letter. Received both within days of each other. The scholarship from Miami followed several days later. Checked status tonight for UGA... denied. we have similar stats and extracurrics (former fraternity prez)... hope our cycle goes well... i was wondering if you could tell me a little about gainesville... never been down there, but i'm pretty interested in UF.

Im sorry to hear about your ding at Vandy. I'm sure that means I will be receiving a similar fate in the very near future. By chance, does it show that your decision was mailed on their website? Good luck with the rest of your applications and congratulations on your awesome acceptances!

What's Gainesville itself like? College town or medium sized city? Comparable to anywhere else, in your opinion? Thanks!

Just got into American. Letter sent to my home address. No surprises yet in this cycle other then the UGA denial.

Any chance you are going to Miami? I am, and I am trying to get lots of other people with above 160 LSATs to do so as well. We could make it a Top-20 school

hey, just wanted to get your thoughts on the wake waitlist... is it just a rejection called a waitlist or is there hope for us 161ers?

I found the student body to be extremely homgeneous. I've never lived or attended a school that was not predominantly white, but this was startling to me. But it wasn't just peoples' skin color/ethnicity, the students in genearl just seemed so... cliched. Girls all had their pearls on and guys were wearing pink shorts. It was preppy to an extreme. The students just seemed so sheltered, conservative, and young. I met with the Director of Admissions and one of the first things out of her mouth was about how she was trying to work on diversity but that it was hard because Wake tends to attract a very specific type of student. None of those things are inherently bad, obviously, but they're not what I'm looking for in a law school. That said, my tour guide was really nice and down to earth, and the campus was gorgeous. And the one person I know who's a 3L at Wake absolutely raves about it. Let me know if I can answer any more questions. Sorry if that came off as blunt and/or rude. It's just my honest assessment and I don't know of a better way to put it.

Good luck! I hope to see you there in the fall! I'm sure they will be taking people off the waitlist beginning pretty soon, and your numbers look better than a lot of the other waitlists on here :)

Yep, joined the FB group yesterday. I also plan on hitting up their online store in the very near future, so all of my friends and family will be decked out in Wake gear! I honestly wasn't optimistic about my WL chances, so I was so happy to hear from them, especially this early in the summer.
