01/05/08: Got rejected from Georgetown.

01/24/08: Got acceptance letter from Georgia State University! It didn't say anything about scholarship money; I hope that a letter to that effect comes soon.

01/26/08: Got waitlisted at Vanderbilt.

01/28/08: Got rejected from UPenn (even though they gave me a fee waiver) and Chicago. I hope Emory and UGA cough-up some money as it looks like I'll be staying in Georgia.

02/15/08: Rejected by Harvard.

03/03/08: Put on "Hold" at Columbia. The letter said that they'll let me know their final decision by April 15th. I sent another letter of recommendation and a 1 page letter of continued interest from me. I hope this all works out!

03/24/08: Waitlisted at Duke.

How did your LSAT Pan out?

Emory
Thursday, November 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Emory! That's my first choice and I applied back in September and I still haven't heard! I'm going crazy!

hello!

Oh my God! I read this and I realized, I know this guy! We were on Mock Trial together, remeber me, haniyah? Congrats on GSU! I applied there as well so I'm hoping to hear soon. I hope I'll see you there at Moot Court! I spoke to Attorney Jones a few months back, he wrote my letter of recommendation for me. Hope to hear from you soon. Good luck!

Keep in touch

Thanks for telling me! I think had I gotten a small envelope I would've trashed it! I applied to Emory but it's so expensive, I'm praying for GSU or UGA. I'll keep you posted. Keep in touch Fabian. - Haniyah

congrats

Congratulations on Emory! We have similar numbers but you have much more soft factors; seems like you've worked really hard, I hope you get what you want! And thanks for giving me a glimmer of hope for my own Emory admission:)

hello

hey fabian, i got an email from GSU today inviting me to sme speaker events and congratulating my on my application. It said welcome to Georgia State but i havent gotten an acceptance letter yet so i dont want to get excited, did you get an email like that?

GSU
Friday, September 28 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey fabian, Got into GSU!!! Im so glad, my 1st choice.

Good Luck
Friday, February 08 2008 at 07:00 PM

Sorry about Yale. Looks like you have the "soft" factor wrapped up. Good luck on your remaining apps!

GSU
Friday, September 28 2007 at 08:00 PM

I think I'm settled on GSU. I don't want to move and I hate the idea if driving to Athens everyday. Emory would be great but $36,000 is so high. If I go to GSU I graduate with virtually no debt, thats the greatest feeling ever! So as it stands unless Emory will give me a load of $$, GSU is where I'm headed. Whats your top pick?

Yale Ding

How were you notified of the Yale ding?

congrats
Friday, September 28 2007 at 08:00 PM

well first off, congrats on the marriage (I didn't know you guys got married so I'm late). I would go to Emory if I got in and got enough money. But you know how something feels right? Georgia State just feels right. But I will still think about Emory and UGA. UGA is so far, will you commute or you guys going to move.

GSU
Sunday, January 27 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey, I was wondering what your GSU status said prior to your acceptance? I'm still waiting on them and I'm getting really nervous and worried... my status currently says "Being reviewed by committee" or something like that... let me know. thanks!

UGA
Friday, September 28 2007 at 08:00 PM

well thats good that you guys can move and save some money! I am stuck here, my hubby works in Alpharetta, kids like their school, and we just got a new home so I wouldn't be able to move. I sent my deposit to GSU this weekend, so I guess I'm done. still haven't heard from UGA or Emory, but I dont want to fork over all that money for Emory so it doesnt matter whether I get in or not. I guess I'll be a GSU Alumni twice! What kind of law do you want to get into? I want to do IP, patent and antitrust.

Virginia & Columbia
Monday, July 16 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hi ragstoriches, I actually withdrew from UVA to make room for other applicants because I think I'd be happier at U. Mich. than UVA. So, the top 3 schools I'm still considering are the only schools I'm still in the running at - Yale, Columbia and U. Mich.. And yes, while waiting is hard, it's so worth it. :) Best of luck to you! -aniedrich84

Good job with the Emory scholarship! so are you thinking about them or still UGA?

Congrats...

ragstoriches, Thanks for your congratulatory words! I'm really excited about Michigan too. Best of luck to you as you wait for more decisions! But hey, Emory and the other schools that you have as choices are all great, too. Best wishes! -aniedrich84
