Info sheet about scholarships in the thing i got said that full tuition and a couple of other scholarships wouldnt be awarded until later. Plus some finalist interviews required in jan and feb for some of the other schol.s

I had 2 former law professors from Emory write good LORs, so I think that helped counter my LSAT score. With your LSAT score and Ivy undergrad, I think you'll be good to get in at Emory.
I know what you mean about "going insane waiting for more news"! I literally check my watch obsessively waiting for it to be past 2:30, at which time I can be sure the mailman has come. Good luck this cycle, at least it seems that Emory has started handing out decisions for those that aren't auto-admits. Buena suerte! :o)

My fiance keeps seeing people like 4RE and TheRealTruth and he thinks I'm a shoe in.. it drives me crazy!!! Maybe it's just that we are our own biggest critics, but I can't help chewing my fingernails off waiting for that elusive call. The only thing that keeps me moderately sane is knowing I tried my best and gave it all I had. Now it's up to someone to hopefully see the person behind the numbers and make a judgment call. :crossingfingers:: Good Luck!!!! And sorry for the long response, I needed to vent :oP lol
Dying for an acceptance from Emory? Well, sorry, you're totally not getting in. Just kidding! You've got an excellent shot! Also a wonderful chance at American as well. I would tell you to just relax and be patient but honestly, I won't be relaxed until this cycle is over. We're going through the same kind of hysteria so the best we can do is wait it out together. Good luck. And no, the status checker did not change.

dude!!!!: 1. ya got a 166 for pete's sake! You're def gonna come up big at some school.... 2. ya went to freaking you know where (a.k.a. one of the best schools in the country and arguably in the world) and survived 3. your work experience consists of managing difficult to manage engineers like me 4. lets suppose you do go the loan route. you'll study/graduate in DC or emory, get hooked up with a pimp job, pay off the loans in a couple years, and you'll be fifteen times further ahead than if you hadn't gone. you're def. not 100% #$%^$##$, and dont forget its only Jan still. The other schools are def. slow. I never heard back from anyone up north. ...saturday mornings are so boring, what else is there to do other than look through LSN.thedevil.com.org???....

Stetson is an excellent school, ESPECIALLY if you want to do litigation or trial advocacy.
Did you take the December LSAT? My Emory status checker says I've been complete since 10/23 but when I didn't hear anything, I gave a call and turns out they bumped me to the bottom of the pile to wait for my Dec. LSAT score. Now I probably won't hear for months. Maybe the same thing happened to you?
No news is good news. They always hold splitter apps longer than auto-admits or auto-rejects.
sweet, G-dub WL. make sure you send them a written letter of intent ASAP if you're really interested. I overheard a conversation this weekend and the guy was saying that they really really need to get that kind of statement from interested apps....

congrats on miami! one of my closest friends goes there now and loves it. and the lawyers i used to work for graduated there and loved it also (doesn't hurt they're very well off now...) the only notification i got from emory was an email saying i was complete. i got the acceptance packet (a folder with letters and papers) like two weeks later. but i had spoken to a rep. before i recieved the mail, and they said they wanted to get all the decisions out by the end of this month. you should try calling, although i have to admit they're touch-tone/calling system is annoying and tedious (especially compared to other law schools who pick up after the first ring...) g'luck! keep me posted :0) did you go to ucf?

On Miami. Read about your cycle from your post on LSD. If you really want to end up in D.C. I'd LOCI GW or American. Seems like American is just YP themselves. Also, if you don't mind this recommendation, I'd look into some more schools ranked 20-40. I think you just got some though breaks in regards to Emory and many schools ranked even higher or around their rank would be glad to accept you. Anyway, GL with Miami if that's where you end up! I saw their DVD and it looks like an amazing place to study law.
...at UM. I can't tell you how much in the same boat we seemed to have been this cycle....WL at American, rejected from GTown, and just wanting closure.
