Thanks for your support. It looks like you have had some interesting experiences. I'm sure you will have some acceptances soon!
I noticed we both applied to a lot of the same schools. Let's keep in touch about them when we start getting decisions. :)
everything you said about w&m is right on target. do you have any specific info. in mind? i'll emal whatever i can. did you send in the extra essay for the various fellowship opps? hopefully they'll let me stick around and i'll see you next year!
Me too! (IoBRL) how great would that be?! I'm such a longshot, but you def. have a good chance. w&m is def. a great place for conlaw and Wburg needs more WestCoasters so best of luck! Check out Prof. Van Alynsthe (sp) - one of the top con law scholars in the country, you can email him w/ questions, he's a super nice guy on top of being brilliant.
Hope you get into William and Mary, looks like you're a superb candidate. Kind regards.
Hi: Thanks for visiting my profile and offering info. Coincidentally, i had just been on your profile (for obvious similarities) before posting my own. I sent in my apps in early November and all of them are complete. Since we\\\'re applying a few of the same schools, i\\\'ll let you know how i fare. Best of luck.
Right again :) That's what I love about UR, beautiful, scenic campus and right near a GREAT area of Richmond! Everyone at that campus seems friendly!
Thanks for the post. I think you have a great shot at all your schools -- looks like you'll have a stand-out app. I'm in Pittsburgh right now so let me offer this advice: pack warm, your Long Beach wardrobe will do you no favors here . Best of luck!
with your apps. I see a great school in your future!!
Hey! Yeah, I'm very excited to get into a great school so early....no, I haven't had a chance to see W&L yet but hopefully I'll be going up in January when classes start up again so I can get a good feel for it. Let me know if you have any information/experiences with W&L that would be helpful. Take care and good luck with everything--you have nothing to worry about
How'd you find out that you were complete at USD? E-mail? Online status check? Thanks!
Hey Man: i thought i would let you know that i just got word from UPitt with an acceptance! Since we have similar numbers and backgrounds, i suspect you'll be hearing good news too! :)
...on UofR. It is a beautiful school! Thank you again for your insight into UPitt. My wife and I are going to take a trip up there in Feb. I am going to Minnesota in Jan to visit UofMN, let me know if you have any questions about the school.
One down, twenty one to go! Keep us updated!
Congrats on your Richmond acceptance! What an amazing way to start the cycle! (Sorry it took me so long to pass on my well-wishes!) I'm sure there's a lot more good news to come, but if Richmond is worse-case senario, that is a great place to be!!!
NO WAY!!!! BOOOOOOO :) Congrats on Wisconsin. Post it up there already! Good Luck!
What'd you love about Pitt and Penn State when you visited? I haven't had a chance to visit, but will if I'm accepted.
Here's my email address... thanks for the info!
Congrats on the acceptances so far!!
...on UK and Wisconsin. Sorry to hear about Minn. I am sure that they will come around.
so much. I am so happy to be in somewhere. I am going to law school!!! ;0) Good Luck with the rest of your apps.
...on IL and Penn State. Did the offer for Penn State come with any scholarship information?
I just found out today that I got into Arizona as well! Although I still have to wait to find out about UIUC. San Diego and W&L are next, I can feel it!
so much. It did sting but I honestly had no interest in that school even if I did get in , lol. Congrats on Arizona, I wish I had applied there.
Wow! You are really on a roll lately. Concerning residency, each state is different and each school is different. I have not seen anything that compiles all the different schools/states (and it would be different for me anyway since I am active military). I recommend that you do a search at each schools website for residency criteria. If the school is private then move the the states website. Sorry I don't have more info. v/r
Congrats on Arizona. I'm an undergrad there now and you'll love it. It's an awesome school :)
That Boalt email was HARSH! They should bump you up the index just for that shiat.
Tennessee does say their financial aid CAN change if you change residency .... in fact they were the only school that really seemed like they were limiting their fin aid award, listing all the reasons it could be cancelled, i.e. outside scholarship, military tuition waiver, etc., seems a little shady to me
I was curious about how they notified you about the $18k renewable scholarship. Did they send the offer with your acceptance letter, or did you have to complete a financial aid form and return it after you got your acceptance? Also, if you don't mind me asking, is it a merit or need based scholarship? Thanks and best of luck to you!
you are racking up the great acceptances!!!!! keep rocking on baby!!
I'm just here tweedling my thumbs waiting for that UNC acceptance letter :) If they don't come through for me, then Vandy and Dookie won't either. In the end, i may just have to go to UPitt (which ain't too bad). By the way, Wake is awesome too--wish i had applied there. I don't know though, i'm looking to stay in NC; that just may be me.
Yeah, i just noticed that you and partyguy both received complete notices before i did (and i gave in my application a little before). Since i'm a NC resident now (though i'm originally from NYC) they had to confirm my residency status--that's what took sooo long. At a public university that's mandated to accept 75% in-state, it's a tedious process that's unfortunately very necessary. In the end, they confirmed that i was a resident--let's see if that has any sway. :)
i dont get this admissions process b.s. you sound like you would contribute a ton to any law school. any vet is cool in my book. schools should throw out those old grades, people change in 15 years, and the over reliance on the LSAT sucks too, but you have some very solid options. see ya at illinois?
Way to go!!! Nothing beats free in my book! When did you submit the add't scholarship application? How'd they let you know? Again, congratulations!
Wisconsin has a way of finding the most interesting students. Congratulations on the full ride. Ever go to San Pedro? I'm overdue for a pilgrimage to find Mike Watt.
WTG!!! That is soooo awesome!! Congrats, I am so happy for you!!!
I have a feeling you will also get into DUKE!!! so GL!!
WOW on that scholarship--that's just amazing. How many people can say they went to law school for practically free--and at such a great institution?! I'm sure it's well earned and you'll do great things. Congrats!
I would love to hear what you think about Pitt and how your visit went
awesome awesome awesome. Iowa and Wisconsin really came through for you. Any idea which one you like best?? I have a friend at IOWA, who got the fullride as well, if you wanna chat to him let me know, he is still a 1L but he is in the top 10% and got 2 great job offers for his 1l summer. One with a BigLaw firm and one with a federal judge!!
Wow, Congratulations! You have a tough choice! Two great schools, have you visited both schools? I'd be a shame not to see you in Madison in the fall!
Congrats on USD! Did you apply for PT or FT?
You know it man! I was so happy to see that acceptance letter! I see you haven't heard from them yet--but with your stats i'm sure you'll get an acceptance. Given the other equally impressive offers though, i'm sad to think that you'll probably not be joining me this Fall. But, i'm sure you'll do amazing wherever you go. Thanks for your support. All the best.
Dude, you should go to Wisconsin, from a Wisconsinite's perspective that would be a great place to attend law school. The full ride is an amazing offer. Side note - I visited Pitt and thought it was pretty cool too. Good luck on W & M though.
Wisconsin, Illinois, or Iowa? LOL - You're definitely heading to Big 10 country. Good luck with your decision!
...I would be proud to have you come to my school. Though I'm sure we would share a number of ideological differences, I thought your comment on Cedarchick's board (College Republicans) was worth responding to. I think the attitude you demonstrated is exactly what law schools need to foster healthy debate and critical thinking. Numbers aside, I think you're one of the most well rounded candidates I've come across on LSN.
Not even going to wait it out for W&M or Duke? I think it'd be in your best interest to do so, and if you get in, use the scholarship leverage from these other schools. Especially since those two are your #1 and 2 choices. Not to say Wisconsin/Iowa aren't good schools - just wondering why you're so antsy to make a decision before you hear from everybody. Good luck, and enjoy your trips!
Yes, I'm still favoring Arizona, but only ever so slightly. I visited USD and liked it a lot. The thing that's really making up my decision is the fact that Arizona will be so much cheaper, and its rank is a little higher (which is offset by the fact that it isn't in the state that I probably will practice in, but I have other personal factors that may not make that such a difficult obstacle). But anyways, I'm visiting Arizona in April, and unless they completely bomb the visit for me, I'll likely pick Arizona over USD. BUT, it'll depend on what happens with the rest of my applications. I think the wild card for me is Washington & Lee. If they accept me, I would really have to consider it. I've never gone to school on the east coast, so it will be a new experience, which seems sexy. Or it could be a potential disaster waiting to happen if I end up getting homesick or not liking living in a small community (I've lived in urban environments all my life). USC accepting me would probably make my whole process a done deal, and although I didn't particularly like my Hastings visit and its location, I still think I might just bite the bullet based on its prestige in this state alone. But anyways, what I'm basically saying is...I still have no idea. And I'm punishing myself with school deposits because of it. But yeah, good luck with your process. Let me know how it goes and where you end up.
congrats on Wisconsin. I wish Iowa would give me the scholarship you turned down, lol. Thanks.
I think I just got your scholarship from IOWA. God Bless you!!! ;0)
I e-mailed you. :)
Two days for Duke to reject you? I hope not!!!
