Additional info & updates

I became highly obsessed with this website a few months ago when I started to seriously consider attending LS in the fall of 2010. I found advice on both what to do and what not to do and was inspired by some amazing success stories. I hope to share my experiences throughout this process, hear more stories, and hopefully give myself some peace of mind during a stressful time. Plus, I am sure my friends will appreciate a bit of a let-up on the constant obsessive discussion I demand from them about the LSAT, LS forums, and how I think everyone else in the world is managing to deal with this stuff! Good luck to everyone and I hope this is a good year for many and a great year for many more!

07/02/09: Getting involved in the online world of LS prep has its positives and negatives. I love reading the threads on the top-law-schools forum, but they can be discouraging. I know that scoring in the 84th percentile on my first attempt at the LSAT is fabulous, but I can't help but feel I need to push myself to do better to compete with the rest of the aggressive applicant pool in my cycle. I decided about 5 seconds after reading my LSAC email that I would re-take the LSAT in Sept. I told myself early on that I would re-take anything under a 167. I did better than I thought considering how much I struggled under the conditions of my June test, but I know I can do better with more practice and study. I ordered more preptests and I will begin the process of dusting off my old practice books and jumping back into study mode soon. Until then, I am ready to enjoy a stress-free holiday weekend!

11/26/09: Happy Thanksgiving!! Mine has consisted of desperately trying to finish up these apps- I know I am shooting high with the numbers I have, but maybe I will get lucky and be accepted Somewhere decent. Crossing the fingers!!

01/21/10: My first decision! Waitlisted at GW. Since it is about in the middle of my rankings pack, I guess I'm not surprised by this middle-of-this-road decision. I feel a little let down but relieved I wasn't totally denied. Here's to the coming decisions and hoping some come in bigger packages!

02/04/10: In at a DC school! Also my first phone call letting me know I have been accepted. Good day!

02/26/10: First rejection. Email from Georgetown. Very classy.

03/19/10: So I guess I should just go ahead and change my middle name to waitlisted. It might make me feel better.

3/20/10: These decisions seem to come in waves- and not very happy ones I might add. This rejection from Boston really hurts. I do appreciate the physical letter as opposed to an email- I knew I liked them so much for a reason :-(

04/22/10: I wish I could say I am done with this process now that I have received some sort of decision from everyone. Bring on the waiting game part II!!!

I'm fairly certain you go to my school. We're in the same boat with our GPAs and I'm waiting on my Sept LSAT. Where are you thinking of applying? Good luck!

Were you originally held at UGA? Or did they admit you straight up? I'm currently held there, and I'm trying to get an idea of how long I'll have to wait before I hear back.

Congrats I got my first DC school yesterday as well, really excited about GMU but I got waitlisted at American too. Hoping to hear from GW...

I've been doing more research on UGA, and I'm thinking I won't hear back until April-ish (or even later), uggghhh. Congrats on your acceptance, though! We have similar numbers, so you're giving me hope, haha

Well with that and all the encouragement I'm getting from my reach schools, it's looking like athens is a distinct possibility next fall.

How did they let you know about the WL? Im hoping I can get on that

pending
Wednesday, September 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

I took the Feb LSAT, so thats why I have so many pending, but at this point I don't think there is a deadline for them to get back to me. And to make it even slower, I might be taking the June LSAT to get off some WL

June LSAT
Wednesday, September 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

I really think it would, especially at some schools where I am right near their 25th, like Emory, which is my dream school. I mean My GPA is theit 75th, so a 25 LSAT would make me the same as a median student there, not to mention if I got 3-4 point higher, which is only a few questions

damn those are some good waitlists. good luck with them!
