I have a bunch of the same schools as you. I heard early from Marq. but haven't heard anything since. I was hoping to hear from Miami and Hofstra before Christmas, but I guess not. Good luck with the rest.

I'd sell my family for a full ride to Hofstra. Do you have any advice on how I can market myself to get some bucks? Thanks :)

Top Choice

...Right now I am waiting for all my information to come back. Where I go really depends on two factors: 1) Can I afford the school - Scholarship $$$ comes into play here. And 2) Can my wife find employment at the school's location.

DePaul

Do you have to maintain a 3.0 or a 3.3 or anything for the DePaul scholarship?

Did syracuse notify you about the scholarship in the same envelope as the acceptance letter?

I did really want to go to Syracuse- I thought they'd offer me *something*- but they didn't. So, I'm having second thoughts.

Thanks

choosing a law school
Monday, January 09 2006 at 07:00 PM

I have to say that the best law school to choose is the one where you would most likely practice. If you like IL, you should go to school out there. Like Boston or Philly? Choose schools in those states. NE's co-op opportunities are a bit better than Drexel's. They actually have a few circuit court justices sign up, and they encourage you to go to different areas of the country. Your classmates have lived extrordinary lives with many previously in the peace corps or as activists. It's pretty liberal as is the town, but that might not be a problem for you. Being outnumbered as a guy on all campuses is nice too. Brooklyn law is a very good school although our dean is leaving there to come to us. Denver University is the elite school of Colorado, you will be recognized by every firm in the state, and you may like to go skiing every weekend. Marquette is well respected for the city of Milwaukee and Foley & Lardner (1,400 attorneys world wide) recruits from there ($96,000 starting). I like a challenge, am unafraid of taking risks, and want to make an impact without kissing the butt of the 3rd year students. These reasons and that I want to practice in the 3rd circuit have motivated me to take Drexel. If it comes between Nova and Temple, choose Temple. That's just my opinion. Good luck!

Nova

Congrats on Nova, I'm sure you'll be happy there. I am pretty pumped as well. When do you think we should start looking for apartments and do you have any suggestions on where to live? (you never left me your email address.)
