Additional info & updates

i have gotten nothing but rejection letters thus far, so i'm still waiting and hoping.

i know i have a low numbers but i just wanted to give it a try, if i dont get in this cycle, i plan to retake my lsat and applying again.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

2-23-08 Accepted into Cooley

2-27-08 Rejected from GSU, kinda expected it but was hoping for a miracle..

2-29-08 Rejected at Hamline, kinda hoping they would of considered me for their FEP Program.

3-8-08 Florida Coastal extended me an offer for their AAMPLE program. anyone have any thoughts on that? Can I still send in my deposit to Cooley if I decided to choose FL Coastal's conditional program?

If I don't get into any other schools, should i just go ahead and send in my deposit for Cooley or should I take off a year? I know Cooley has a bad reputation, however I do not plan on working in a big law firm after i graduate. I hope to practice in Georgia as well. Any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

03-14-08 Rejected from Valpo.

Accepted to PASO conditional program with Appalachian.

I plan on trying out FL Coastals AAMPLE summer program, and I guess I have Cooley to fall back on, it's better than not trying at all I suppose.

4/28/08 Invited to NCCU's PBAP. Very last minute, received a personal phone call from admission directors. I decided to accept their offer - withdrew from FCSL AAMPLE. NCCU is a better fit for me. I know it's a historically Af. Amer. school, I'm Asian - I wonder if that'll be a good choice for me. I feel that NCCU's mission statement is similar to my personal statement and my reason to pursue a law degree. Any thoughts?

6/11/08 After completing NCCU's PBAP program, I was invited into their day program so I am very excited I am going to law school! The program was very intense and challenging, however it gave me a good insight on what to expect in law school. I am more excited than ever to start now. I am sending in my seat deposit for NCCU.

And the cycle finally comes to an end.

Early Aps

Hey Swtsoysauce, I heard that applying early makes all the difference. The reason is that the earlier you apply, the better chance you have of getting in and getting free scholarship money. The way I look at it is its going to cost the same anyway, so why not get the most for my money (paying application fees) Anyway, I will be watching your profile and hoping for the best for this upcoming cycle! Good luck on your LSAT!

good luck

Hey you might want to check out Florida International University. It's a young school, but it is definitely up and coming. You could have a chance there. :)

GSU

Hey, sorry about the GSU rejection. I was wondering if your status changed online to reflect your admisison status or if you received anything in the mail?

Hi!

I'm definately not taking FL Coastal's program for 2 reasons..number 1 being that they rejected me VERY fast(within 2 weeks of getting my app), so why reject me fast like that and THEN say we have a spot for you to take our summer program. No thanks. Number 2, I've already been accepted to NCCU and it's a better fit for me,I don't have to do a conditional program there, and it's not too far compared to Florida. I think you should go for it though. It can't hurt to try, plus it's online too.

Hey! Good luck this cycle. Like the person above, I would say if you don't like your options this year, try again next year. I too have been faced with the problem of waiting another year or just going to a school that I might "sort of like." That being said, I do know someone who went to Cooley here in Albuquerque, and he's done quite well for himself. I would say, don't discount it because of its reputation, after all, a degree is a degree is a degree right? But if you think it's not the program for you, then I would say wait. Good luck with everything! I hope the rest of your cycle goes well.

Hey again!

I see you're pursuing NCCU, I wish you the best with PBAP, and I'll be there in August!

I think the PBAP program will be a good opportunity. There are no books that are required for the Program. From What i understand they accept an overwhelming majority of people into the fall class. The school should send you a schedule for the two week period. The student who went through the program said they admitted 48-60 students two years ago.

Hey there! Hope all is well. NCCU is a great school...from the students to the professors...folks here are really supportive. really glad I made the right decision. It's in a prime location and there is plenty of resources available so that students do well their first year. The only thing I suggest is to make sure you are on top of everything they send you...communication with the administration can get a bit frustrating at times....just keep copies of everything and keep the line of communication open with financial aid and admissions. PBAP is a really great program. I did not participate but I know folks in my section who did and they formed lasting bonds throughout the year. It's a great oppourtunity to meet people who will be starting with you in the fall and to get a feel for two of the first year classes...I think its Torts and Property. I knew so many people that enrolled in the fall from PBAP that I started to wonder who didn't make it!...Honestly, just stay focused and do your best and you should be fine. Hope to see you in August!

I can certainly understand why you would be nervous. The only info i have is the starting and ending date and a brief description of the program. This correspondence came from professor COrbett. If you don't have this i can send it to you. you would have to send me your email address though.

Hey... Just wanted to let you know that I got the same information as well from Mr. Corbett. He said there is no other information that will be provided until we arrive. After that point there will be an itinerary provided with details as to when classes are etc. Hope that helps. See you there.

I didn\'t tour Martha Street bc I didn\'t expect to get a room there anyway.So I toured Campus Crossings,my 1st choice.It was really nice,better than I expected!
