Er, that last comment was mine - not sure how I got logged out. ;)
They said it would be up to 3 weeks before I hear because i applied to day and night program?
I went complete in March and they responded pretty quickly. I hope that you have satisfactory results as well.
I applied in early december, complete in early January, and I'm still waiting. I call ed and they told me 2-3 more weeks, so I call after three weeks and what do they say, 2-3 more weeks, this cycle happened not once, not twice but three times! I hope you have better luck than me. Take care.
I went to NCCU law for two year but had to leave because of a bad family situation. Now I am applying to go back as a new student. The evening program is actually easier to handle than the day program. It is more difficult to get into the evening program, but once in it takes about four years and they really work with you. I know some people who got in with a GPA under a 3.0.
good luck this time around!
Anyone else out there wait longer than 6 weeks after completion? I'm at 7 weeks now.... nothing.... My wife's looking for jobs in Durham already and I don't even know if I'm going next year... If I don't get in I'll take the LSAT again. i think I can get around a 152-155.. I did on my practice tests... that might help now that I understand teh test better. When I took it before I was clueless and had never even looked at a book..... that was 5 years ago!
OK I sent a follow up email to Dean Sims. She said they were looking at it as she was typing to me. It would take about 2 weeks... FINGERS CROSSED!!!!! AGH!! the waiting is killing me!
Ok, so 4 weeks later... still no decision letter... WTF?
yes, a KA. let me knwo if you have any questions msewell@elon.edu
Best of luck with NCCU.
OK, So I still have to do this 2 week "Performance Based Admissions Course" where I have to take off work, unpaid, and go prove myself in person to the Admissions people and lecturers that I can do it.... But they will then let me in... from what I understand, most of the PBAP get in. Does anyone know anyone that has been in this? Any suggestions?
Congrats on PBAP....I'm a 1L at Central...I know a bunch of folks that did PBAP last year and got to enroll last fall. As long as you do your work, you should be fine. You will have either Property and Legal Reasoning and Writing or Torts and Legal Reasoning and Writing. If I'm not mistaken. Another thing, is that Central has 3 sections as opposed to 2 sections for the first time this year...this will continue next year so there are more opportunities for PBAP students. See you in August!
Congratulations on your acceptance! My application went complete on 1-30-08 and I'm still waiting...when is the PBAP?
I know several people who have done PBAP. In all honesty some of the people who went through PBAP ended up doing better in school than those who didn't. It is an intense program, but it really helps you get ready if you take advantage of it. I know you will have a legal writing class. And the people that I knew who went through PBAP had to take property, but I don't know if that has been changed or not. Good luck to you. Hope to see you in the fall.
Congratulations, I'm sure you will do great. Did you only apply to NCCU because you wanted to stay close to home?
hey there. You guys/gals will be housed in the dormitories...not sure which ones..so don't worry about where you will live (unless you were told otherwise) DO NOT FRET!!!! I know that it is difficult to hear considering its a performance based program but again if you do all your work and know what you are there for (i.e. to gain admmission in the fall) you will be fine. There were many people that attended PBAP last summer that enrolled for this past fall. Sorry, there is not really a hard and fast rule about what NOT to do...just be yourself and get your work done.....and I guarentee you will be fine! :)
Finally someone else that is in the same situation as me :) I totally feel your pain. I also have signed up for the PBAP at NCCU. I am not even in the country and am using the internet as my library. Did you get an email from Mr. Corbett stating the topics, 50-60 people 1/2 doing Torts and the other 1/2 doing Property then the whole doing legal writting. How are you preparing for this? Any help will be accepted.
Hey. I got a call yesterday inviting me to participate in PBAP as well. I'm a little scared though. I mean I'm in PA and I will not only have to take a leave of absence from both of my jobs (without pay)... but I'll have to find my way to NC. I'm wondering if it's all worth it. Arrggghhh! This is crazy. But it is my goal to attend law school in Fall. What are you thinking?
im also doing the PBAP in a few weeks. do you know anything about it? are we suppose to purchase books ahead of time? i got a phone call real last minute so I haven't received the actual letter/package. see you in a few weeks!
Good luck with the PBAP!!
Hey charclay... Got your message about PBAP. I had actually already made arrangements to fly in from Philly. Thanks for the advice. The only thing now is that I'm here extra early with nothing to do. Boring! LOL.
Sorry I am so late responding I haven\'t been up here for a while. I did apply to NCCU, I was accepted, and I will also be attending in the Fall. :) Congrats on your acceptance.
So how did PBAP go?
I'm sweating bulletts waiting for the answer that won't come for months. My GPA was 3.39 until my last semester when I got sick and got F's in classes that had attendance policies. I took the LSAT 1 time and could have done better but I thought that since it was the median score at NCCU I might be alright. I want to study Civil Rights and promote social equality and positive change. Where better than NCCU? If anybody know anyone accepted with under a 3.0 let me know.
