Extra Curricular Information

Been working for five years in the public interest sector and applied to programs with strong public interest programs.

I think my statement and letters are solid, but don't we all? : )

Additional info & updates

I sent in all my applications on the same day and they all went complete within 4 weeks, except for Wash & Lee b/c I couldn't get the Dean's Certificate to them right away.

Good luck to all and this community information sharing is very nice.

Will be attending the UCLA Public Interest Program. Would love to hear from others in the program or at UCLA in general.

Hey! We have very similar numbers and are applying to very similar schools, which makes sense because we live in the same metropolitan area. Nice job on W&M; I would love an acceptance letter from them.

Michigan said that they reviewed my applciation once and wanted to review it again with the larger pool of applicants. I didn't think this was a waitlist letter as much as a deferal.

Doing very well

You are doing awesome so far! I fully expect to meet the same fate with regards to UVA! I really hope to get accepted to Maryland and W+M! The fact that you haven't heard from GMU could be a very good thing as I know they just sent out a lot of rejections (myself included). Have you looked much into U of Arizona? I am pretty excited about being in there and I was happy with the personal touch the dean put on the acceptance letter! GOOD LUCK WITH THE REST OF THE CYCLE AND CONGRATS SO FAR!

Thanks

I'm jealous of your deferral at UMichigan. Hope it turns out well, and congrats on all your acceptances!

On all the acceptances! Do you know where you're going yet? Or are you still waiting to hear back?

Congrats!

On UCLA!

UCLA

I really loved UCLA. The campus is really beautiful. It's in a really nice area- Westwood is right in between Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and Brentwood. But that does mean the apartments are really expensive. A lot of graduate students live in The Palms area which is a little cheaper. Santa Monica is like 10-15 minutes away, so you're right by the beach. If you want to, you can stay in Westwood most the time or you can really go explore all of LA more. I don't know if you're into sports or not, but if you are I'd recommend getting student season tickets. The basketball games at Pauley are really fun if you get to set down in the Den. The football games require at least an hour long ride to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, but they are a lot of fun. If you get the season tickets, you get a guranteed ticket to the UCLA-USC game which is definitely something to experience. I really liked UCLA for undergrad and had a really good time. I am not super knowledgeable about the law school, but I did take a class with a law professor (Spillenger) and liked him a lot. Good luck!
