Additional info & updates

Scholarship totals are in three years because it's more impressive that way

1/14 - In at Miami, should find out about scholarship information in a couple weeks... it's nice to have the first acceptance under the belt

1/22 - Dinged at UGA... ouch. UGA was actually one of my top choices so I'm really disappointed... I thought I would at least get waitlisted. Go gators... suck it UGA

1/30 - Got $23,000 per year at Miami. Also got the official rejection letter from UGA. Still waiting patiently to hear back from other schools...

2/2 - Waitlisted at WF. Not too surprised. A little disappointed but hopefully I can ride it out and get lucky.

2/4 - Rejected at UIUC, definitely no surprise there. I just wish I could get a couple acceptances here and there to soften the blow of the recent wave of bad news.

2/6 - In at Maryland! Definitely excited about this one. Found out through snail mail in a small envelope... at first I was terrified and I figured I got rejected or waitlisted... but then on the bottom of the envelope it said "Congratulations!" That gave it away haha.

2/7 - Just had an interview with Indiana. I think it went really well (but who knows). The interviewer was really nice and laid back and really sold me on Indiana, now I 'm just crossing my fingers that I get in

2/10 - In at American. Came via priority mail.

2/19 - In at Tulane via status checker. yesss, score

2/21 - Wow. 20k per year at Tulane in a nice little tote bag. Well played, Tulane, well played

3/4 - Waitlisted at Indiana via small envelope. Definitely one of my top choices so I'll be sending a LOCI soon

3/8 - Just got back from Tulane's ASD. Awesome. I loved pretty much everything about it. Also found out I got waitlisted at W&L which is actually really good news- I have a chance

3/21 - Rejected at Colorado. Didn't write the "why colorado?" essay. In retrospect, that was a waste of 70 bucks

3/23 - Rejected at Emory. No surprise there

3/24 - Waitlisted at W&M. Damn

3/25 - Rejected at BC. This has been a rough week

3/30 - In at Wisconsin! Finally. Also waitlisted at Arizona and OSU. Dammit. I hate these stupid waitlists. Just let me in. Also my file is finally going under review in UC Davis. Naturally UNC should be the last school I hear from

4/13 - TULANE! I'm really excited and relieved to finally know where I'm going. In retrospect, I wish I didn't apply to so many schools.

5/4 - Finally got a decision from UC Davis. Waitlisted. If they had gotten back to me in a reasonable amount of time I would have been interested in pursuing the waitlist but at this point I'm set on Tulane.

5-4 - The cycle is finally over.

Regrets:

- Applied to too many schools (at the time I felt like I could see myself anywhere but I never seriously asked myself if I really could. eg Boulder, American, Miami, Davis, etc)

- Didn't get to visit waitlisted schools. In fact, I only got to visit 4 schools. That's probably the hardest part: I'm on 8 stupid waitlists. I might actually consider pursuing one or two of them but I don't have the time or money to visit in the small hope that these schools take me off their waitlist (and figure out how much I actually like the school).

- Not retaking the LSAT. I feel like I could have gone up at least 2 or 3 points if I just sucked it up and retook. That could have saved me at least 15,000 in potential scholarships to Tulane or gotten me into a better school. But it's probably best not to go into the "what if?" game for the LSAT. I think everyone wonders what their life would be like if they guessed B or C on a couple different answers.

Nevertheless I'm really, really excited about Tulane. The campus environment, friendly faculty and student body seems like the best possible place to study law. Not to mention that living in New Orleans for 3 years is pretty sweet.

I hope my profile and rambling helps give future applicants a leg up on the application process in upcoming cycles. Goodnight, and good luck

Sorry about UGA! I have been in review there since 12/24 (probably not a good sign) and don't expect to hear positive news, either. Oh, and I like your screen name--are you a 30 Rock fan as well?

Hey Indiana sent me a small thin letter via snail mail to let me know I was on the waitlist. Goodluck on your cycle we have similar schools and numbers maybe we will end up at the same place

Hey there!

So as of right now we haven't gotten into any of the same schools, but we do have some of the same waitlists: W&L and WFU (again, they took me off pending my Feb LSAT score and put me back on it again today). Hopefully we can get in off our waitlists! Oh and I just saw a thread on TLS where you asked how my Feb test went - I got a 164. We're not LSAT twins anymore, but I think the fact that we have the same name counts for enough!

I have no idea!

Where I'll be depositing! I just got into GMU so right now I'm trying to decide between $ at Richmond, or Temple, or GMU. Any thoughts - I'm totally at a loss. I'm visiting them all next week and hopefully it'll help me decide. What about you, where are you thinking you'll go at this point?

Yay!

Congratulations, looks like this cycle is all done for both of us. I have some friends in NOLA (one at Tulane in med school) who love it!

Congrats on all your acceptances! I'm currently WLd at Davis and am asking that if you do not plan to attend to please withdraw. Hopefully, this will make a space for me this Fall. Thanks!!!

I didn't realize that when you commented on my profile earlier that you were my numbers twin! :) Reading your closing remarks on the cycle, I can't help but feel exactly the same way on all three points. Applying to too many schools without putting enough *real* thought into location, retaking the LSAT for a few more points and thinking about the possibilities, not visiting WL schools, etc. I hope everyone considers your closing remarks for future cycles. It's honest and even comforting to know that almost all applicants feel the same way at the end of the cycle, regardless of how it turned out.
