How does the summer starter program differ from a conditional admit program exactly? Seems kinda like the same thing to me? haha

Nevermind, I see where you wont be dismissed at the end of the program for academic reasons. Are you going to attend ONU or do you plan to wait and see how your other applications turn out?

Similar feelings here. I live in Ohio and have a few friends that went there for undergrad - and they said Ada is one of the most boring cities ever, hahaha.

I know how you feel about the empty mailbox dilemma... I check my mail every day, thinking, this will be the day I see a letter... and nothing! Maybe tomorrow, eh? Best of luck to you, looks like you already got an acceptance so you're well on your way to a law career.

I also understand about the LSAT being a pain. I took it 3 times and still only ended up with a 145! And I took 2 prep courses. But you have some really good schools on your list, ones that look past LSAT scores. And your GPA is excellent! You will get in somewhere great!

I am just waiting right now, that is all I can do. I am debating on sending out a couple more applications this week, I am just not sure where. I have pretty much applied to all of my top choices.

I check my UT app status at least 32094829384 a day.

My top choice right now is probably Hamline. Although I would also like it if I was accepted to a closer school, like UMKC, Washburn or OKC. How about you, what is your top choice? We have a couple of schools in common.

I'm in the same boat as you are, which sucks. At least your GPA is better than mine...lol. The waiting is killing me, too. I have been done with apps since November, and I haven't even heard from half of the schools. Hang in there!

Hey! Noticed you were invited to the SSP program as well. Good luck with the interview! What day are you going? We might see each other! What are your feelings on the program?

I'm not sure yet. I'm going to be out of the country when the classes start, so I don't really know what I'm going to do yet lol. Have you gone/are you going to go interview?

I was nervous about the wording when I was reading through it as well. Like an offer will be made, and you put down a deposit...so I was kind of afraid it was "do or die." At this point, I'll be withdrawing from the interview I think. What's your top choice??

You ask a tough question due to the fact that all the schools I applied to have good qualities about them. However, if I had to choose of the three you mentioned as of right now it would be Valparaiso.

Congrats on Mississippi College!! Is Jones still your top choice? MS sounds like a good school.

I just found out today that I was accepted into the PBAP as well. I also have mixed feelings about this, but I know that Campbell is the right place for me, so I think I'm gonna do it!

UT must hate us or something!! I'm just going ahead and applying for financial aid for memphis and mercer. I have to send a deposit for mercer by April 1st so I can't wait on UT forever!!

is painful. Of course, half of the United States is either accepted or W/L. Many people will tell you that it's a nice way for them to reject people without actually rejecting them. I also heard rumblings that there is a preferred waitlist. I believe both rumors. People with strong credentials got an email in early May last year about the possibility of being accepted if slots became available. I, of course, did not. Officially, they will only send one email during the summer (early June) to let everyone know if the waitlist has been or they suspect it will be activated. When the email is sent, you will have to reconfirm your interest in attending regardless of if it is activated or not. After that, there is no other correspondence (officially). Dean Wixson handles the waitlisted candidates (he is no help at all though). A final email is sent to people who elect to stay on the W/L until the first week of school saying no slots became available. I suspect that the W/L is broken into areas based on race, lsat score, gpa and other factors. If one stat is low on admission (e.g. minorities) then they pull the minorities with the strongest credentials for admittance. Dean Wixson said he has no idea what they will get this year because of the economy. They suspected applications would drop because of the recession and yet they had a 9% increase in applications. They will know by early June though...Dean Wixson also said eagerness (e.g. calling every week) has no bearing on your application status either (I find this claim hard to believe also)...anyways, good luck and we will see. One bright note is I think they are the only school that actually showed a grid of how many students they accepted. Although, only 2 or 3 was accepted with my GPA and LSAT, it gave me hope! However, that data is from 2 years ago.

I am also waitlisted at Mercer and recieved the same e-mail on June 9th saying that they are currently not admitting anyone off the waitlist. I was wondering if you have heard if anyone has been accepted off the waitlist since that letter or if you got any other e-mails from Mercer. Thanks Terry Cramer
