Additional info & updates

-first generation college student
-Completed the Honors Program at my undergrad institution
-Worked full-time for 3 years before going to college
-2 Excellent reccomendations(both professors hold JD)
-Decent personal statement
-Other than honors club and a couple of volunteer events, I have no extracurriculars(just a job).

12-19-05: recieved a letter from NESL that I have been accepted. The next day I recieved a packet of financial aid info, but no award info yet(just general stuff). I am going nuts waiting. Due to my financial status, I can really only afford to go to Buffalo, and I do not have the strongest LSAT and GPA. I am basically praying my ass off!

1/31/06: I recieved a large envelope from Buffalo in the mail. I am psyched because Buffalo was my only real option financially, and it makes the most sense considering that I hope to stay in upstate NY to practice. They sent some general info about housing, fin aid, career services, etc. I know this sounds lame, but I feel like my whole life has changed and I know for sure that I can be an attorney. This was so far out of my reach in my own eyes, so my perspective is a bit brighter now. Very happy!

did NESL really let you know three days after you sent them your app? (12-16-06 and 12-19-05)

You really thinking of attending NESL? What is its reputation regionally and how far does its degree travel?

Congrats on Buffalo! I'm waitlisted there now and am really, really hoping for an offer. Anyway...just wondering if you got your "intent to enroll" form...if you did, when are they asking that you send it in by??? I'd like to know because then the admissions office will have a pretty solid idea of how many people they need! :)
