Hope it goes well. Keep the faith.

Why not Coastal?
Thursday, December 29 2005 at 07:00 PM

I was just scanning your profile. Why didn't you apply to FCLS? Stats say they have the highest bar passing rate in the state. Since you are close to them, is there a bad secret the stats aren't telling the rest of us? Good luck in getting in where you want.

How did you find out you wre defered at fsu?

Indiana

I appllied through regular admission. They selected me to the summer program. They will do this automatically. You should have a pretty good shot at it. Yo know us nupes got for love for DST. Yo! Yo!

Good Luck!

You will get in, have faith.

FCLS Disappointment
Friday, January 13 2006 at 07:00 PM

I went to the minority recruitment at FCLS and was very disappointed. I feel your sentiment that you mentioned to me earlier about self pride. Can you believe a Dean said they are the "only" fully accredited private law school in the nation? Why lie? The building they are in currently had a lot to be desired. It was dirty. Dust everywhere. Thick layers of dust on the window seals everywhere. Now I know there is a secret they aren't telling. The stats don't tell you they lie and misrepresent themselves and have terrible house keeping. I left a day early so there may be more. #2 for me has dropped to last.

Waitlist
Tuesday, August 09 2005 at 08:00 PM

ohh yea, I'll probably do that soon, but I got waitlisted to Penn State last year too, and they "rarely", let people on off that waitlist. (like I think less than ten is what one of the admissions directors told me last year). But thanks, and good luck anyway.

I read your comments back and forth with elegant and I see you aren't impressed. I asked her for more info. In the mean time, anything you can provide would be great as well. I do want to visit. I know they're moving to a building that's been totally renovated. Also, just to let you know, most law schools have only one building. Even if they're tied to a big school, they usually only occupy one lone building for the law school, which is why it's so competitive. They only have about 500-800 law students total (give or take some). Also, you go to class with your entering class as one big group (or split half and half) which is why they don't even need a lot of classrooms. Weird, but I didn't know all of that until I visited a couple of schools. So just a little general info for you so you'll know what to expect (if you didn't know already that is...). As for FCSL, again, any info you can think of would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck oh..ps...if you wanna see the queen of dings...see my profile...LOL. So, don't feel bad, you will be going to law school!! :-)

Only fully accredited ...
Monday, December 05 2005 at 07:00 PM

I keep seeing these comments about FCSL saying that they are the "only" fully accredited private law school in this country. I think a little clarification is needed. Are you sure the school didn't say the ONLY fully accredited private "FOR PROFIT" law school? Indeed, it is so obvious that they are not the only private law school that is accredited. School officials must have been talking about their for-profit status. Had to be.

You're quite welcome. Yeah, I want to go see for myself too but thanks for the info on the areas. I was really wondering where was the best place to live. I think the new location of the school will be baymeadows or something like that, so that's where I hear people saying you should live...baymeadows and southside. I've been looking at both. I keep hearing all these stories about the apt. complexes though...LOL. Guess I can read those reviews anymore, they seem quite tainted with angry people...most of them anyway. But yes, when you get a chance, you should ride by the new location as well. I think the address is on the site, something like baypine road. Check it out and if ya do before I get a chance to get down there, let me know what ya think. I think the summer class will be the first class to go into the building but everyone will officially be there starting this fall. Anyway, again, I really appreciate your info about the area and if you think of anything else, just give me a shout. I'll continue to keep an eye on your profile. Fingers crossed for ya!

He actually h/c i was placed in the summer program the normal 100 dollar seat deposit was waved for me. The summer program goes from May 15th to July 17th and classes only meet twice a week. Good luck with your application to Indy.

Stay optimistic!
Wednesday, February 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

I know it must be hard now w/ so many waitlist...but try to be optimistic, keep contacting schools, even if every week u send another letter to dean and admissions committee stating continued interest...trust me it can help. Also, try to highlight something different in each letter.

Goodluck

I'm glad to see that someone with numbers similar to mine applied to schools that some may consider to be out of reach. It says a lot about your confidence and perseverance. I just wanted to say good luck to you and your endeavours. I also have one question to ask. What do you think made your application stand out? I'm asking b/c I'm hoping that my personal statement, recommendations, experience, e.t.c. will help admissions to look past my numbers. Please email me or respond here and let me know. Once again good luck...

Sending letters...
Wednesday, February 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'm always sending letters to the schools, the only one so far that told me that its unfair for them to add updated info to my file is Rutgers-Newark...so i' always think it can't hurt, so why not?

FCSL

I was just as unimpressed with FCSL's manners. I e-mailed the Director of Admissions twice and he finally responded saying I was waitlisted...which would have been just fine, if I had actually received any kind of document saying that i was wailisted. After a long month of waiting for my waitlist letter, I called. I was told by a very bored counselor or whatever the haec he was, because when he answered the phone he just said Hello, that indeed I was wailisted. "Well, would I get anything saying that I am on the waitlist???" "No, we don't send out letters to people on the waitlist." SO how the hell am I supposed to know I am kn the freakin' wailist?? Guess???? I am tired of all this game. If you call the law schools and you insist you find out about your faith, you risk getting the "purple sticker", and get them to reject you. If you don't call them, then you risk having a heart attack every time you open the mailbox. I am going insane here, why can't these people understand we are human too??

Sorry to hear about the waitlists (sorry because that's just a longer wait now) but glad they weren't outright dings! At least you know you still have chances at these and the pendings. Will check on ya later.

Congrats!!
Tuesday, April 11 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptance. I still haven't gotten one. I've been keeping an eye on your profile because your stats are similar to mine. I'm at work but I think I may call some of these schools to find out the status because this is getting crazy. Will you attend Cooley is you are able to make the deposit? If so, will you attempt to transfer or stick it out? I'm asking because I'm trying to figure out a game plan if I end up getting into a Tier 4. :)

Re:
Tuesday, April 11 2006 at 08:00 PM

To answer your question, I applied so late because I procrastinated and didn't take the LSAT until February. I'm beginning to think that I may have to invest in a prep course and retake this darn test. I got dinged by Pace on Saturday. Pace is one of the schools that I actually thought that I stood a chance at. I guess if it's meant for me to get in this time then I will. I'm just ready to know so that I can make the next steps, whatever they may be. Well once again, Congrats, and I'll keep you posted.

Thursday, May 04 2006 at 08:00 PM

so much for the post i read it and i will be taking ur advice. i feel like the late apps and low scores did affect my apps. but i will be reapplying and i guess i do need sometime off coz i am stressed right now with 1 wk left of undergrad. Thank you for such great advice.

Congrats again!!
Tuesday, April 11 2006 at 08:00 PM

Ok so this time when I saw your profile, my jaw DROPPED,,,literally!! I'm sitting here at my desk at work. Luckily I'm at a cubicle so no one could see the stupid look on my face. CONGRAAAATS AGAIN. Ok so I noticed your a Delta. I am not one but I'm very close friends with a Que who went to undergrad with me who's in a Master's program at NCCU and he's pretty acquainted with them down there. Also a Delta who went to undergrad with me is a current law student at Central. I can put you through to one or both of them if you want. I'm sure they'd be more than willing to answer any questions that you may have. I included my email so hit me up if you want to. Good luck during 1L girl!!

PennState
Monday, December 26 2005 at 07:00 PM

i applied to PennState Early Feb. I heard from them sometime earleir this month. Yep, i am considering this school as a prospect. i think that my personal statement, expereinces (leadership, organizational, volunteer and internships), and letting them know of any progess i made since my aplication was submited ...ie grades, summer internships, publications etc...just anything positive that i did , i let them and other schools that i was waitlisted on an was still intrested in know about. I hope this helps you. good luck.

Mmm Hmm...
Friday, December 16 2005 at 07:00 PM

Partying hard, forgetting about apps..tsk tsk! LOL. Hey, that's ok. I have no excuse for when I forgot to mail my withdrawal to Thomas Cooley by their deadline too. But, I did it. Just make sure you call Dayton to let them know it's on it's way and again to confirm they received it. I'm sure they give a day or so since it was the holiday anyway. I emailed you another long email before the weekend so don't be too surprised...LOL. Anyway, my fingers are crossed for ya regarding FLORIDA!!

Touro
Tuesday, April 11 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hey i Just wanted to let you know I'm in at Touro. Of course they accepted me after I had already come to the realization that I would be re-applying next semester. But, I thought about it, and I know it's a blessing in disguise seeing as though I can reside 20 minutes away with my grandfather, free of charge. I'm actually going to attend. Now I have to get prepared to move back to NY.

Congrats on Stetson

Congrats girl on stetson! I am so happy for you. You have worked hard and deserve the fruitful outcome!

Close ties
Monday, December 26 2005 at 07:00 PM

There is a bond that is gained when you expereince similar strugles with a group of people and i do feel that with several people here. There were many times i didnt know how things were gonna work out and sometimes but i had faith that something had to give and i kept figthing. I cherish my achivement more beacuse i worked SO HARD for it, but i realise that the "easy" part was getting in, and the hard work lies ahead. Good luck again, i know we will ALL continue to strive to achive our desired goals!

Awww damn...
Friday, December 16 2005 at 07:00 PM

Sorry about Florida but you got your #2 Stetson so you'll still be in Florida after all. Congratulations!!!

Heya!!!!!!!!
Wednesday, March 22 2006 at 07:00 PM

I am trying to decipher who you are specifically. Not sure...but no I am not attending Stetson. It is a good school, but it is just far too expensive. The housing around the area was exorbitant as well. I couldn't do it. Anyway, good luck in the fall.

Congrats On Stetson
Thursday, December 22 2005 at 07:00 PM

Hey, Congrats on your Stetson acceptance. I too will be attending this fall. Hope to see you at orientation or on campus this spring. Take care.

PSU
Tuesday, March 28 2006 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Stetson! I am still waiting to hear from PSU myself. I called on monday and was told to call back today as they had a seat deposit due on 6/16 and they would know more info. When I called back today the woman I spoke to said she is not sure who I spoke with but that they are not pulling people from the waitlist yet. Sigh. I am so tired of this waitlist! Best of luck to you!

TSU
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hi! Since you won't be attending TSU, would it be possible for you to please withdraw your application from there? I'm on the waitlist and really want to go to school there. I would really really appreciate it. Congratulations on all of your acceptances!

Question about Stetson
Saturday, July 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hi how are you?! Sorry if I already wrote you a message before - I am new at this and forget who I write! I took the June LSAT and got 143. My GPA is a 3.6. What would you say are my chances of getting into Stetson part-time (I am planning to work in business while attending). Stetson is truly the only school I want to go to. Any tips?

Stetson
Wednesday, February 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Stetson. I'm also excited about attending Stetson this fall. The campus is fabulous and the community seems safe. I don't think we will regret choosing Stetson.

Did you get into Stetson for FT or PT? Do you know if it is easier to get in for PT?

You have definitely come a long way and you absolutely deserved to get into law school.I commend your perseverance and determination.I am also applying to Stetson.Im confused because i dont know if i can apply to be considered for two terms at the same time. Also their application deadline for Spring 07 is October 07 which is kind of weird and the deadline for Fall 07 is March 31,07. Again congrats to a soon to be 1L :)
