11/16/08: Was just checking my app status for various schools and looks like a decision letter was sent out from Santa Clara on the 14th. Hopefully it will be good news!

11/23/08: Received acceptance letters for Santa Clara on Friday and University of Kentucky on Saturday. The one from UK had a handwritten note referencing my personal statement. That was a nice touch. 2 for 2! Let's hope I can keep the streak going!

12/1/08: Got a big envelope from the University of San Diego but it turned out to be an informational packet. They tricked me! No status changes from any schools. I guess this is the calm before the storm...

12/2/08: The calm didn't last long... Saw this on Villanova's application status page:
Current Status: Congratulations - Admitted
Current Status Date: 12/2/2008
3 for 3!

12/3/08: No go at UT. 0 for 1 on the reach schools :(

12/5/08: Just got an e-mail from the University of Iowa. "It is with great pleasure that I write to congratulate you on your acceptance for admission into the Fall 2009 entering law class at theUniversity of Iowa College of Law. " Back on track :)

12/8/08: Getting bored/restless. Anyone want to predict how the rest of my cycle is going to go?

12/10/08: Received a call from Loyola University Chicago congratulating me on my acceptance. Let the good times roll.

12/12/08: From UC Hastings: "We are delighted to offer you a place in the fall 2009 entering class at University of California, Hastings College of the Law. " AWESOME!

12/18/08: In at Chicago-Kent College of Law (IIT).

12/26/08: Received admissions packet from Indiana University-Bloomington today. Nice scholarship too. I like the handwritten note as well. The personal touch really does say a lot about the character of the staff/program.

1/4/09: Notified of University of Houston acceptance via e-mail. Coooooooool.

1/6/09: In at Cardozo. Found out via phone call. Recovering nicely after the UMN rejection....

1/8/09: No go at Georgetown. Not unexpected but sucks nonetheless... Dinged at UIUC too. Thought I had a chance there but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

1/14/09: In at Brooklyn.

1/30/09: In at Case.

2/6/09: In at ASU.

2/27/09: In at USD

3/11/09: In at Pepperdine. Glad I have a local option now.

3/13/09: Rejected at UCLA. I knew it was coming but I'm really bummed out about this one. It would have been the perfect situation for me.

3/19/09: Boo, waitlisted at Arizona and Davis. Would have chosen Hastings over either one of those but would have been nice to have the option...

3/23/09: No USC. I guess this means I'll be going to UC Hastings unless I get a ridiculous scholarship somewhere.

4/8/09: CYCLE OVER

I just noticed your post from a week back. We have sort of similar numbers but your extra couple points on the LSAT ought to help you out quite a bit. At least I know you'r someone like me who's experience a GPA hit due to the rigors of engineering.

Congrats on Villanova... looks like we were the first two acceptances this cycle.

Sorry to hear we met the same fate at Texas...Good luck on the rest of your cycle!

Congratulations!

Hey man. I have not yet heard back from Iowa but I've been checking my status on their admissions page pretty frequently. Hopefully I'll hear some good news soon. Keep me posted on how your cycle goes and good luck.

Congrats on Iowa! I got in on the same day as you, but is your online status tracker showing that you're admitted?

Thanks

I really appreciate the notice...I see your cycle is going pretty well, Congrats

Hey!
Monday, June 11 2007 at 08:00 PM

I am not certain! I have a strong preference for Iowa because of its ranking and its cost because I'm a resident. However, I really want to study tax and Florida has a great program for that as well as a study abroad opportunity in Poland that I am really interested in. I think it will come down to $$, and even then, I will probably go to Iowa unless something completely unexpected happens. What is your first choice?

Thanks, good to see another engineer applying.

Good luck!

Thanks for the well wishes and I hope your cycle goes great. It's good to see engineers venturing into the study of law.

Congrats on Hasting

Indiana-Bloomington Visit
Saturday, November 10 2007 at 07:00 PM

I have not yet had a chance to visit the campus, but I am going to try to make it sometime next week. I don't own a car so visiting during the semester from Purdue University, where I attend now, would be difficult. Are you visiting soon?

UIUC

Got your letter that fast? Looks like I'm looking forward to a ding there as well. Man, hope to be sitting with some of the schools you are, by the time this is all over. Good Luck!

Thursday, November 27 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Hastings! I feel a little better, since we have similar numbers. Did you do a LEOP application, by any chance?

Don't worry about Seton Hall
Friday, January 09 2009 at 07:00 PM

You're already in better schools than Seton, so don't sweat it. And Congrats on Hastings! It's one of my reaches.
