Thanks for your optimism. I hope you're right! Oh I see what you mean about the GPA and money, though NW is notorious for forgiving a weaker GPA for work exp
i agree, it seems you should try for a couple of schools a little higher ranked with your LSAT and work experience... gL with cycle!
Hi, I was wondering if DePaul sent you an email saying that your application was complete? I sent mine on 10/02 and they haven't sent me any sort of notification. I've tried calling but their phone lines are always busy. Thanks! Justine P.S. You will be getting that John Marshall letter any day now :)
Thanks for being so optimistic. I sure hope you're right. Best of luck with the rest of your cycle.
Congrats on your acceptances!
i'm thinking specifically UIUC, Kent, IU-Bloomington, others... the key would be to make your work experience sound amazing, and to downplay your UGPA... then i think you'd definitely have a good shot at breaking the t-40.
i understand. in that case, get that loyola application off!!
haha to be honest i am not exactly sure... i know they do a full police check for criminal record... and they do a check with the DMV/BMV... but other than that i am not sure congrats on DePaul!! maybe i will see you there or Loyola next year! ps I LOVE 30 ROCK the show
Congratulations on DePaul and the nice fat scholarship....I pray for at least an acceptance every night lol
First and foremost, Congrats on your acceptance and scholarship. Which school is your first choice? Also may I ask (if you don't mind) your ethnic background? And if you care to share about how did you play up your diversity statement and personal statement.
Sorry that anonymous post was from me, I forgot I wasn't logged on. Sorry
One more thing, Do you say that the pool is going to be huge because of the bad economy, (you know everyone is losing their jobs and now going back to school)?
Congrats to you too on DePaul. And congrats on Northern! That's great!
Though hopefully I will be able to join you at DePaul
Thanks for the Congrats! I found out about Loyola via phone. I received an email about 2 weeks ago telling me they weren't even going to look at apps til after the holidays, so I was very (pleasantly!) surprised to get the call. And I got a big envelope from JM via snail mail. Good luck with the rest of your cycle! :)
Hey, I submitted my app in early to mid October and received the decision via e-mail. Good luck!
Hey I'm from Chicago, and I see you're applying to a lot of schools there. I don't blame you. I would love to go back home for school. What are your top choices?
You're correct - I received $10,000/yr for living expenses. Congrats on your scholarship offer!
The deferment/waitlist on my Kent application was definitely sobering. I'm hoping for the best, though (in addition to writing some rockin' LOICs). Anyway, good luck with the rest of your applications!
well within chicago city limits... i would def choose loyola... but i am still considering ohio state and wiscon madison
I'm kinda hoping that I get into Kent/Loyola/DePaul and then I'll be able to make those visits. Where are you leaning towards?
They do! Now we even have the same LSAT score, I guess we really think alike!Congrats on your acceptances!
Thanks! I'm really excited about it.
Hey I posted a reply to your question on my wall. Congrats on the great cycle. You've got some really great options. Its refreshing to see that you'll be able to find the kind of job you want debt free (or close to it). Best of luck to you and your family!
well i am going to tour wiscon and beg for money.... but since i dont think i am going to get any chances are i am going with loyola (their office said they were giving me at least 7k).. what about you!! come to loyola with me and lets watch 30 rock! haha jk
First, congrats on your cycle! I'm still waiting for a bunch of decisions, but Kent does look appealing at the moment, for a variety of reasons. Will you be going to the admitted students' weekend? Will be my first time in Chicago.=)
Hi- sorry I didn't see your message until today, but yeah, as of now we're the only two on here attending Kent in the fall. I hope more people show up in the fall! Have you attended any of the dean's programs at Kent? I'm looking at going up to Chicago soon and wondering what they're like.
on a nice cycle... looks like applying early was a smart move.
I wish I knew. Congrats on your acceptance though! Mind if I ask why you aren't applying to Northwestern or Kent or U Chicago for that matter? Your LSAT might be a bit low for Northwestern and Chicago but Northwestern really values work experience.
