Additional info & updates

My LSAT didn't go as well as planned, but I'm keeping it...

UW is my #1 by far right now, but a good financial aid package could shuffle my rankings around...

Good luck to everyone!

12/04/06: My reports are finally requested, but I'm still not complete ANYWHERE. I didn't know this part took so long! :-/

1/16/07: IN at Boalt! :-) E-mail.

1/23/07: IN at UW! :-) Thin, white envelope postmarked 1/22. Letter was dated 1/19. I will withdraw from Seattle as soon as I figure out how.

Well, it's between UW & Boalt now.

2/6/07: Status checker finally shows a decision was mailed on 2/5. I live in Seattle, so I'm assuming it will get here pretty soon...

2/8/07: In at Seattle w/ President's Scholarship of $14,500/yr. Renewable if in top 25% of class. Not tempting enough...

UW vs. Boalt...

I'm going to Boalt's Admitted Students Day & waiting for financial aid offers from UW & Boalt before making up my mind.

4/8/2007: I sent in an updated transcript to LSAC & they bumped my GPA up .01. Cheapskates. I'm leaving for Boalt's ASW on Thursday & I'm counting on it to make my decision for me. Happy Easter...

4/15/2007: I LOVE BOALT!

4/18/2007: After Boalt's ASW, I realized I would really, really love to go to Boalt. Now I'm just wondering if I can justify the extra expense...

So, I'm not closer to a decision after all. I know for sure now that I would love Boalt. I'm pretty sure I would love UW. Since I think I will probably be happy at either school, is it really worth the extra tens of thousands of dollars to go to Boalt for three years, even if I think I like it a little more? I don't know...

4/27/2007: I sent back Boalt's enrollment slip with the "maybe" option.

I have made myself promise (to me) that I will make my final decision by May 15th, so here's to hoping that I make the right choice in 18 days.

5/15/2007: Well, what do you know...it's my deadline to myself! I have had a pretty crappy couple of weeks...and have been forced to focus on more immediate problems. I'll deal with picking a law school later, I guess. For what it's worth, I still love Boalt a lot & am starting to think it's worth its hefty price tag. :-) We shall see...

5/18/2007: I went to a second open house at UW & it went much better than the last one I attended. I was impressed. I loved it. I feel better about everything now. I'll know for sure that I'll be happy at either school now...

6/12/2007: My late update! Placed a seat deposit down for UW right on the deadline & thought about it for another week. Decided it sounded good & withdrew from Boalt. UW it is! :-)

you should send out a few more apps, especially with those numbers it would be a crime to end up at U-Dub. What about Boalt, you should be in there!

Good luck!

And I agree with Cassise, you'd have a fantastic shot at Boalt, not to mention several other T14s!

Good luck

Good luck on UW (but I think chances are you'll have to weigh them against Boalt)

Dude, don't listen to these people that tell you must go to go to a T14. You want to stay and play in Seattle you should do it. UDUB is a fine place to study law.

Congrats!

Congrats on BOALT!!! I'm so happy for you! Is that your top choice, or are you leaning towards UW?

oh yeah!

please see above post where my ability to see into the future is displayed... Congrats on Boalt!

Just wonderin'...

Would you still take UW over Boalt??

UW

thanks for the congrats. I hope I can visit, but it is pretty far from me. But I have a friend who is at UPS that I haven't seen in three years, so maybe I will make a big trip of it. Now there is just persuading my mother not to freak out that I would be on the other side of the country...

Well, congrats on Boalt no matter what you decide! If you end up remaining a husky, can I have your seat at Boalt? Please?

I'm glad to see they've finally mailed you a response, although with your numbers it's not like there's any question about them accepting you!!:)

Congrats on SU even though they didn't woo you away with the cash. Are you leaning any direction with UW and Boalt yet?

Just read your comment

Yea I got the christmas card a day late though LOL. Better late than never. It may have helped that I've been on their "interest" mailing list for two years now, don't know. ;)

Decisions, decisions...

Yeah, choosing is tough, but I try not to forget that having choices is actually a GOOD thing. ;) Still planning to visit Boalt?

UW

Looks like I'll be there in the fall. I'm sticking it out on the UCLA WL, but that's the only thing that could get me out of the PNW. Maybe I'll see you in the fall.

thanks for the comment

UW's decision will baffle me until my grave, I think.

Thanks

Thanks for the kind words. Good luck with your decision; it sounds like a tough one for you! Withdrawing from UW was sad. The admissions people were painfully nice about it...

Thanks!

I am from out of state...I'm coming from the opposite coast. Looks like you have a difficult decision ahead of you. UW seems like a really great school...I'm not sure that I could turn down Boalt, though. Either way you have an excellent education to look forward to. Good luck!

Leaving berkeley
Monday, December 25 2006 at 07:00 PM

Im leaving berkeley as an undergrad for UW- lol. Hope seattle's a nice place- how does it compare to berk, as i'm guessing that you've visited down here?

Good Choice

It's nice to see someone who chooses a school for the right reasons rather than rubbing one out over numbers. I'm living in Belltown now, when's a good day to see the school?
