Additional info & updates

1/14/08- Didn't expect to hear anything this soon, much less from 3 schools in 1 day!

Berkeley rejection in small very thin white envelope. No big surprise there. Definitely glad I got 2 acceptances to soften the blow!

Madison acceptance in small white envelope.

Maryland acceptance- Received 2 small envelopes, 1 with acceptance (and congratulations written on the outside), 1 with scholarship interview info, and 1 large envelope with huge congratulations on outside.

1/22/08-

Temple acceptance- Big white envelope with scholarship info included. Scholarship is $12,000 per year, must stay in top half of class.

1/23/08-

Online status checker for Georgetown went to Decision today.... Will be nervously awaiting my letter!

1/28/08-

Just got a phone call from Loyola Chicago to tell me I'm accepted with a $23,000/year scholarship! Must maintain 3.0 GPA to keep scholarship. She said my acceptance package was mailed last week and I'm supposed to get it sometime this week.

1/29/08-

The letters are rolling in now! Unfortunately I had no luck at Georgetown :( I'm disappointed, but not too surprised. (Rejection came in regular thin envelope).

Luckily my rejection was offset with my acceptance to Boston College!! I've always wanted to live in Boston, so I'm really excited with this one! Acceptance came in a big envelope with a folder of info.

2/13/08-

I'm getting sick of waiting!! Why such a long dry spell?

2/22/08-

Well the dry spell has ended, with a very thin, very depressing envelope from Stanford. I knew I had a 0.0003% or less chance, but I am still pretty sad about this one. The dream has died :(

2/29/08-

Deferral letter from the U of M today. I knew it was coming since the status checker said "Status Letter sent" instead of "Decision Letter sent." I'm a little annoyed that I might not get a real decision until the end of May. Does it really take 6 months to make a decision?! Why can't they have it out before deposits are due?

3/12/08-

Went to visit BU and BC and loved them both! All you BU addcoms reading this... send me my acceptance!!!!

Just checked Davis's status checker- Waitlisted! I'm a little surprised about this one. I was waitlisted last year with a 5 point lower LSAT. I really thought I was going to get in this time around :(

3/15/08-

Accepted at the University of Houston today by small white envelope. Now I have to decide if I can handle the 100 degree weather down there!!

3/21/08-

Scholarship email from Madison, $6,000/year, must maintain satisfactory academic progress. This is really exciting! A great school without much debt. This is going to make my decision really difficult!

4/7/08-

I went to the University of Maryland scholarship interview this weekend. It was a great time and I love the school! They have an excellent health law program! Now I just have to wait to see about the scholarship...

Waiting list letter from Washington and Lee today.

4/14/08-

Waitlisted at BU in small white envelope. I'm so disappointed about this. BU is my first choice :( I will be staying on this waiting list for as long as possible!

Withdrew from Loyola.

4/15/08-

USC rejection in a small white envelope. Not too surprising, especially this late in the cycle. I'm a little disappointed, but I'm getting sick of all this waiting and would just like to get all my decisions one way or another!

4/21/08-

Just found out I got a scholarship at the University of Maryland- $15,000/yr. Yay! Now my decision is more difficult!

Withdrew from Houston and Temple.

5/14/08-

Rejected by UCLA today by small snail mail. It's about time!! 5 MONTHS to reject me! I knew this was coming, and I am glad to finally have heard from everyone.

Now all I have left is to see where my deferral from the U of M is going. I'm so ready to finally make a decision!!!

5/28/08-

Called the U of M to see when deferred people are finally going to get an answer. They said that they will be mailed by the end of the week.

5/30/08-

Waitlisted at the U of M via email. I was originially deferred (notified date 2/29/08) then waitlisted. My cycle is finally complete!!! It only took 6 months...

My final decision will be between Boston College and Madison. Let me know if you have any advice!

7/7/08-

The decision is final... Boston College Law School!

Withdrew from Madison.

$9,500/yr. grant from BC. I can't remember when I found that out, but I think it was sometime in March or April after financial aid stuff was due.

7/10/08:

Snail mail from Boston University saying I won't be getting off the waiting list.

Thanks for the congrats. Good luck to you on GULC, too. I went decision today there and I know I'm going to be checking my mail rather anxiously this week! Maybe we'll end up meeting at a GULC ASW and at the Maryland invite day, who knows?

I emailed them too... As of now I plan on going....I want to do a JD/MPH, and since that's probably not the most lucrative career...any financial help would be nice. Maryland is also probably one of the top JD/MPH schools that I'm likely to be accepted to...but hey, miracles can happen! Good luck with the rest of your cycle :)

Did you apply for a specific scholarship at MD or did they send you general info?

I haven't recieved any info about scholarship interviews. I'd be excited if I did though. Congrats on BC! Thats the only school I'm really waiting on, I don't care too much about my others that are pending.

BC

I am happy about BC, but its so expensive. I don't know if I can handle borrowing that much money. They gave me a 15K/yr grant. The rest is loans. Im having a hard time with the decision. I'm leaning towards temple because its affordable and its a great school. I dont wanna make the wrong decision though. This sucks.
