ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

Hoping that the extra circulars and application help bolster my score. Took 2 prep classes for the LSAT and they haven't helped me either time. So I just have my fingers crossed and I'm praying to get in somewhere.

1/16/2008
After a series of rejections that are documented on my application list (see above), I finally got an acceptance letter from NC Central. It came in a normal sized envelope with a couple of papers inside.

Hopefully there is more to come for all of us....

1/18/2008

Waitlisted @ PSU.

1/23/08

Rejected at Drexel

1/28/08

Rejected at Memphis...Regular sized envelope with the usual standardized rejection form.

1/30/08

Rejected at RU-Camden- usual rejection letter/envelope size.

02/01/08

Placed on 'Hold' (I guess that means deferred???) by Northern Illinois University. Regular sized envelope.

02/25/08

Rejected at Northeastern-standard white envelope

2/29/08

Waitlisted at Loyola NO - regular sized envelope and letter.

3/17/08

Received an invitation to a Summer Acceptance Program at Widener. Need to get a 2.3 or better in the program to increase my chance of being admitted. Hmmm...II don't think so.

3/21/08

Offered acceptance into the MSU LEO Summer Program. Will receive acceptance into the PT program upon passing. Its not what I wanted, but its something I guess.

4/12/08

Accepted at Dayton via email. I'm still waiting for the actual package and stuff to get to me in the mail but I'll just go by this email for now and actually hope to see the physical acceptance in the mail soon.

4/15/08

Received the Dayton acceptance in the mail...which is good.

4/17/08

More good news. Just called up Loyola to see what the deal was. (I had received a bunch of emails congratulating me on acceptance...but I never got a letter; after being waitlisted at first, I thought this was just pseduo-spam) Looks like I got accepted! I will be getting the package in a day or two. All praise and honor to G*d!

5-05-08

Waitlisted @ NIU. I was originally deferred. I figured that was the end of that, but I guess not. I'll remain on that list for the time being to see what comes of it. In the mean time , i did get rejected from Cleveland St so I guess that balances out. I also am going to withdraw my acceptance from Loyola while I'm at it. That should even everything out.

I knew last yeah when I was thinking about applying to law school that I was going to apply to alot of school. So i just saved up for about 8 months..... I got a few fee waivers but not many. Someone with numbers I knew i should to alot of places just to cover myself cause you never know where u can get in unless you apply. I think the only crazy person i know who would spend this much on apps.

  • Tuesday, January 29 2008 at 07:22 AM

Dude im not even sure myself..... I would say waitlisted is better than deferred cause at least it says you have a shot into the school provided that other people decline their admissions offers. Deferr i think means that they havn't means that they havn't made a decision yet and will review your file "later". I'd say waitlist is better b/c its a decision none the less...... but who know! I've been placed on "hold" at some places, whatever that means. Thanks for your well wishes. Im hoping you get into a great school too!!!!!

Well I wouldn't go to Nova because they accepted me through their conditional program..and I'm choosing not to go to TSU because of location and facilities. NCCU out of those 2 seems the best, well for now atleast. Hopefully I'll get more acceptances.

Unforunately we were both denied. What we got was an invitation to partipcate in a condition summer program, where based on our performance in the program we MIGHT (no guantees at all) get a place in the PT evening division. I think you should only do these condtional programs if you have not gotten any offer from any other schools. I am not going to participate in their conditions program (or any other conditional program for that matter) cause I have a few acceptances to choose from. Im leaning towards Cleveland Marshall. Im checking it out this weekend for their open house. .... best of luck!+

Are you going to apply for the LEO program? To be honest, it is a honor to be accepted to that conditional program. They do not just take anybody. To my understanding, they are very selective. Are you going to do it? It is a great school.

  • Widener
  • Wednesday, March 26 2008 at 02:49 PM

The TAP program at Widener scares me. Only thirty three percent of applicants receive a 2.3 or better in this SSP. I think that MSU is a better school anyway and to my understanding, it is a less competitive summer conditional program. I hope that this helps.

I felt liek the city itself was under construction (like all over the place). All the commerical buidlings are abandoned. Like there are really no stores open (or occupied anywhere)..... its weird. There wern't any ppl on the street to run into and talk to or anything, guess its cause it was a weekend, nt sure). I wanted to go bowling wth by girlfriend at the open place we found that had any life in it and they said that you have to reserve a lane or a pool table at least 3 days in advance!!! So needless to say in not too excited about that place..... thats the honest truth Now the law school itself. They are renovating most of the building so the places we took the tour of were nice (but they aren't open yet, possibly by the fall, or so they say). The students seem cool. The law library was really nice, its connected directly to the law school (that was a a big plus). I got a sense that the school has a really good reputation in cleveland, but after visiting the city, i don't know how much I would wanna stay around after I graduate. I think you could get a decent education (especially for the price), but im just not too fond of the city or location, and im not one to be picky about location either so if that tells you anything...... hope this helps. Feel free to ask any me anymore questions. Take care!

Well Chukaman....I think I hate you and I don't even know you. LOL. Actually, I just happened to notice that your file went complete on 3/12 and you received your decision on 3/26. I am still waiting to hear from them and my file went complete on 3/10. Congrats on your acceptances. I don't really hate you....I am just extremely jealous. I am assuming that I didn't get accepted to Widener though since I heard the seat deposit for the TAP program is due Monday, 4/21. If you don't mind sharing or even remember.....did you only hear from them via mail? Did you get emails or phone calls? I followed up with them today and still haven't heard anything.

I did finally hear back from Widener only to find out that they are "still considering my application" and I will hear back in early May, 2008. I didn't take my LSATs until 2/2 so while I applied in December/January/February none of my apps went complete until late February, early March. In fact, Rutgers just told me that my app was complete on 3/25. I just wish I knew what was up. I would like to sit for the June LSAT if I don't get in anywhere and re-start the process but I also don't want to waste $200.00 if I don't have to. Please just keep your fingers crossed for me. I'll let you know when I hear something.
