**Word of advice to future applicants: get your application materials in early. The earlier you submit your apps, the better your chances are of being accepted.
** Also, do not let the "numbers game" fool you. Academic indicators (LSAT/GPA) cannot measure one's courage, nor can they measure the totality of one's strengths; therefore, academic indicators, in my opinion, cannot accurately measure a person's ability to succeed in law school or the law professon. Just write your heart out, and wish for the best.
**Thank you all of your support and encouragement. I welcome all questions, or comments via wall posts, e-mails or messages. Good Luck and Have Faith!
i like user name :D
Congrats on your acceptances so far and good luck with the rest of your applications!
Congrats on your acceptance to NCCU!!!
Congrats on NCCU LAW.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Thanks man! Cleo hit me up by mail, regular sized envelope! Good Luck!
I think I will need a miracle to get into NCCU though. I know a guy that had a 155 and a 2.5 and a Masters and got rejected recently. He got into Campbell and Elon and a few other schools. I was surprised NCCU did not accept him. My faith is starting to run out.
I see you're really considering NCCU. I put in my housing application today, so if you're going there we'll be seeing eachother!
I'm going to visit next month. I see you're from NC, what part?
Well for the past couple of months I've been reading study aids, I bought Contracts,Torts,Criminal law, and Property aids.
Right now I'm reading Torts...do you have facebook or myspace? Since we'll be classmates and all!
Congrats on your acceptances!! Keep the faith! Keep me posted...
Hi, can I ask what you didn't like about WVU.. I have a friend that is considering going there. Thanks for any info you can give me!
Congrats on your waitlist at Howard! I was heartbroken when they rejected me, they were my first choice.
It makes me feel even better to hear you liked what you saw at Central. But congrats againnnnn on UNC waitlist. That is wonderful!
Good Afternoon HoodScholar. God is Good and Greatly to Be Praised. First, Congratulations on your NCCU Acceptance and UNC Waitlist. May I ask when did you hear a response from NCCU. I'm still pending. So, you took a tour on 4/14. Can you shed some light on your experience. I'm scheduled to tour Next. Mon. as well.
I can't help but be jealous =) Howard accepted you! Boo to you, haha, just playing, congratulations!
Thanks for the encouragment and kind words. Congratulations on your acceptances and best of luck to you in law school! Crissy :)
Good luck to you, too. I am not a resident so we won't be competing against each other. Hope to see you there this fall.
Congrats on your acceptance to NCCU! Hope to see you in August!;)
Enjoy your summer!
thanks for ur message. good luck with unc too, hopefully we will both start in august. i really like ur take on admissions. i hate to think its all a numbers game.
I saw your question to someone about getting in some preparation over the summer. I definitely recommend reading some study aids over the summer. The Book Exchange in downtown Durham is the best place to get your resources. Curt, if he still works there, is the man to talk to. He knows the best study aids for each subject. For contracts I recommend the \"boat book\" by Chirelstein. For Torts there are some good horn books. The one by Professor Morris is pretty good, but it is strictly for NC tort law. I also really like Examples and Explanations. Examples and Explanations really breaks down areas of the law for you, in particular in torts with negligence and the Erie doctrine and subject matter jurisdiction for Civil Procedure.
You would also do well to start trying to find some good outlines. Even though I recommend you do your own outlines, it helps to look at other outlines as a guide. JohnWelch outlines in particular are very popular. One thing you DON\'T want to do is get too many of those casenotes brief books. They really cripple your ability to brief, extract, and analyze cases and it pisses the professors off. Believe it or not, they can tell when they call on you in class and your answer comes from one of those case note books.
Hope that helps.
Wow. I\'m sorry I won\'t be meeting you in the fall at NCCU. Where will you be attending? Good luck!
