Additional info & updates

Well everyone, my cycle ends here! It's been an interesting couple of months keeping up with the suspense of rejections and acceptances. Still holding onto a tincy glimmer of hope that I'll be accepted to UMD, but if not, I'm happy to say that I think I've made the best choice for myself with Howard. Best of luck to each of you and here's to the next three years wherever it may be :)

4/8- Denied at UH! *sniffles*

3/26- Rejected at URich. A few of you have mentioned the beautiful rejection letters that yall have been receiving. I have to say that by far, Urich has the nicest one, where they rejected me with "humility" lol. It was so good that I felt sorry for them. And on a better note, accepted to Texas Tech!

3/4- Extremely surprised that I'm waitlisted at U. Balt.
In other news, rejected from Baylor's summer semester as well.

2/25- In at St. Mary's via mail! Now I feel like i should have applied to more schools in different states...hmmmm

2/18- Waitlisted at Maryland! I'm excited caz i didnt get completely rejected...top choice! fingers crossed...rejected at Austin but thats okay .. haha

2/17- In at South Texas! Decisions decisions. I don't know if I want to stay on the east coast or pack up and head clear across the country. hmmmmmmm

2/11- Rejected at Baylor. Boo! :(

2/10- Finally received my packet from Howard. No scholarship :( and geez Baylor...why the crap would you have a status checker only to put "Decision in the Mail."

2/4- seriously! i just want hear back from any school!! this is driving me crazy!

1/21- IN AT HOWARD!! I got an email! im sooooooooooo excited...i seriously thought i would have to hold my breathe till february for an acceptance or rejection...! but im sooooooooooooooo happppppppppppyyyy! THANK GOD!!!!!!

Good Luck on your cycle and you should consider applying to some schools in the top 50, you have a very strong GPA and they would definitely consider you for admission!

Waiting is killing me too. It won't be too much of a wait before you start to hear back from some schools. Just remember it's Friday and 5 o'clock somewhere.

i think it was in the email but it is for sure in the acceptance letter i got my acceptance letter early cuz i was touring the school that day... but congrats on getting into howard! is it your first choice?

Saturday, December 04 2010 at 07:00 PM

im like 90% set on howard, i might hold out for brooklyn but i figure when it comes down to it the money will decide and howard is cheap esp with the scholly!! so maybe we will be classmates in the fall?! lol good luck with the other schools youre interested i!

The University of Texas was sent through the mail. Their loss. Congratulations on Howard. That's amazing. Best of luck.

Congrats

on Howard. I know how you feel about just wanting to hear something. I said the same thing yesterday and then very promptly got a rejection letter. Oh well, as long as you have one acceptance you are going to Law School. :~) Best of luck with the rest of your cycle.

Congrats on HU and goodluck on UMD as well!!

Thanks

Thanks, I think my laundry list of things I have done sound more impressive than they really are. What's your first choice? Law school, here we come :~)

Tuesday, December 14 2010 at 07:00 PM

I doubt that I'll get into UMD. I did receive a call from U Balt that they may have scholarship money for me. That would be nice. As an instate student that could make law school less than $60,000 (Compared to $120,000-$150,000 for any of the other schools I applied too). So U Balt is quickly going up on my list :~)

Good Luck!

I hope you get in too!!!! Have you looked into housing for the area? Are you from the MD area? Good Luck to you on the rest of your cylce!

I have been about a block away from South Texas when I stayed in the Hilton that's across the street. lol. If you're a Rockets or Astros fan the you'll LOVE South Texas because the Rocket's Arena is a block away, and the Astros Park is about 4-6 blocks away. The First Court of Appeals is next door. Oh and Harris County Jail Facility is adjacent to the law school. So you'll be able see your future clients. I am a huge fan of Texas so I think you should come down south.

Saturday, January 22 2011 at 07:00 PM

One more thing, what do you do with schools like South Texas where it's not your first choice? Do you put your deposit down now and if you get in somewhere better you just forfeit that deposit at South Texas? I am new to this.

Congrats on St. Marys!! You don't need to know anymore anyway but I answered you through a comment on my profile, didn't know if you saw it or not. :)

Thanks

Thanks for the kind words. I hope I am offered admission to MD or anywhere lol. You already have some nice acceptances to choose from so Congrats, and if MD is also your first choice I hope you offered admission!

Jim, as of now, I think I'm going to stick with Howard. Are you a resident of DC because you'll really luck out with the tuition :)

i sent you a private message :)

Congrats

to you too. My commute will be about an hour if I drive (during non-rush hour. If I take the train it will be 90 minutes plus drive time to and from the station. The commute will stink, but like you said, whatever gets the JD done. It is a means to an end. Best of luck at Howard (I assume that's where you are going from your message).

Saturday, December 04 2010 at 07:00 PM

:) i hope were in the same section! that would be cool

I know, law school is law school! People are just so into their own world sometimes. Congrats on the end of your cycle!! =)

Reading assignments
Tuesday, December 14 2010 at 07:00 PM

So far we have been given two reading assignments. First one is a book called The Case of a Lifetime. It's about a criminal defense attny that worked on a woman's case for something like 20+ years. Not the best written book, but a compeling story. The other was a court decision that we will be briefing during orientation. Congrats on the end of your cycle. Best of Luck at Howard <:~)>
