Additional Information
4/15/09: Wow, I haven't updated in foreverrr! I decided I'm going to take a leap of faith and go to American. It's the best school I got into and I absolutely love DC. Nuff said. Glad the cycle's over for me..it was quite a stressful (but exciting) experience. Good luck to everyone else!
2/16/09: Accepted off the waitlist at Loyola U-Chicago :)
2/2/09: In at American (pt)!
1/2/09: In at Hofstra via large envelope. Came with a nice personal note from the director of enrollment about one of my soft factors. Also 30k per year if I keep a 3.25 GPA.
12/16/08: A few updates. I'm changing my GPA on here because my grades have obviously changed since Fall 2008 is ovaaa (hallelujah!). For the record, my GPA when initially applying to all of these schools, besides American, was a 3.15. This brings me to my next point...I'm applying to American! I think I have a good shot at the part time program and American is a respectable school with a name. I submitted my app tonight before the rush of December LSAT takers comes through and added an addendum that my new grades are coming. In other news, I received a scholarship offer from NESL...$30K per year on the condition that I maintain a 3.0 GPA. I think I will be withdrawing from New England in the coming days and give someone on their waitlist a shot. Does anyone know how to go about withdrawing? Thanks. I guess that's it for now...good luck everyone!
12/12/08: Fordham was a no-go. Saw it coming a mile away though. Too bad, so sad.
11/29/08: In at Suffolk via large envelope...4/4! Still waiting for my Fordham, W & M dings ;)
11/24/08: In at DePaul and NESL! New England was my super safety so that's not happening but DePaul is one of my top choices. 3 for 3 so far...should change when I hear from Fordham and William & Mary though haha. I'm leaving for Thanksgiving break tomorrow and I'll get a chance to look at my letters as I've only heard from my mom so far so I'll post about scholarship stuff and the packaging, etc. asap.
11/22/08: In at Marquette! I'm officially going to law school!
10/29/08: Ok, officially done with my apps. I got a fee waiver from William & Mary this morning so I threw that one in just because it's free. I figure they just want to lower their rate of acceptance but whatevs ;) I guess now the waiting game begins! I won't go complete at a lot of places until my second and third LOR's get processed. Arghhhh.
10/27/08: Got fee waivers from Marquette and Temple today. Looks like I'm adding Temple to my list!
10/26/08: Alright, sent my first app :) Hofstra only requires one LOR so i figured I would go ahead and send it while I'm waiting for my second and third letters to be sent in. Anyways, hopefully I will hear back within the next month!
10/25/08: Got my score...161..Now all I need to complete my file is one more LOR which is taking forev.

Hi. I'm new to this law school app game as well, but I think I may be able to offer some advice. I have lived in CA my whole life and I need a change. I think if you want to escape the South, then you should because if you stay you will probably spend a good amount of time wondering what life would have been like if you had life. In regards to tuition, the average student has 80 grand in debt. But there is always scholarships, LRAP assistance and summer internships at nalpdirectory.com. Good luck.
law school in the south Friday, August 8th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
Do you not like the atmosphere down there, the law school, or just want to get away in general? Although I am currently not planning on applying to Ole Miss, I am applying to several law schools in the south. As far as the debt issue goes, you just have to consider it an investment in yourself. If you feel like this is what you want to do then go for it and best of luck. You will always be able to pay it back later, it just will be a matter of how long it takes.
Best of luck in Oct, we are in the same boat as I take the test then as well.

Tulane Sunday, August 10th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Thank you. I have considered Tulane. However, I have family in New Orleans and am not too fond of the area. I have considered Marquette which has an excellent internship opportunities. But, I am wary of "pigeon-holing" myself into to one area of law seeing as sports law is very hard to get into. Right now DePaul seems to be my top choice and I am going to visit Chicago in March to visit three of the schools there and possibly Marquette. Thank you for the input.
Good Luck Sunday, September 14th, 2008 at 11:58 am
Hi Kennedyposter, I'm putting you on my watch list. Our school list is quite similar and we are in a similar situation with our GPAs. You have some great extracurriculars. Good luck to you!
Best of luck! Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 at 3:23 pm
Great! I will add you to my watchlist as well, so do you have a particular area you want to go to? Since it looks like your applying all over. I do know most law schools seem to offer diversity scholarships that include LGBT appicants so that could help out some. When are you taking the lsat- oct or dec?
lsat Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Actually, im taking it in dec to give time for a prep course.
Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
yeah im doing kaplan, which one did you do? I'm debating between the classroom one and the self paced online one.. the one in the class is like twice as much though :(
Suffolk Sunday, September 21st, 2008 at 12:16 am
Actually, I think Suffolk is a pretty decent choice (much better than Northeastern location/facilities wise, and is ranked slightly higher). My boyfriend goes to law school there, and it is in a new building with great classrooms and is in one of the best locations in Boston, (Beacon Hill / Downtown Crossing) on the Common just across the street from the State House. Ever since it's been revamped, it's been going up in the rankings, and I anticipate that it will keep improving.
Sunday, September 21st, 2008 at 12:18 am
well, im going to go with the self paced online option.. its half as much and you still have interaction through email and phone. And, I'm not taking the lsat til dec so I will be fine pacing myself and preparing by then. But hey, I have all of my recommendations into LSAC already so yay!
going good! Wednesday, November 12th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
Looks like the process is starting well for you! awesome lsat and some pretty nice fee waivers:) Good luck hope u get some offers soon!
Depaul Saturday, November 22nd, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Thanks! They actually never sent me anything, not even an email, until the acceptance packet came in the mail. Thankfully it only took them a few weeks to get back to me.
wow Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 at 3:23 am
awesome, looks like some pleasant options already!! Congrats!!
New England Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 at 3:29 am
And so what, New England doesnt give anyone money or what lol?!?
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
Yeah, I just looked at the people who got into New England on LSN and it just looks like admits and no money. who knows.. but yeah I'm studying my ass off for the dec lsat like several hours a day up until the test.
I was wondering Monday, December 1st, 2008 at 3:54 pm
DePaul is one of my top choices as well, and was wondering if they ever told you you're file was complete or just sent the acceptance letter out? Anyway, congrats and good luck with your cycle.
Friday, December 5th, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Congratulation on DePaul and Marquette..looks like you will be moving up north after all.
Wednesday, December 17th, 2008 at 9:28 pm
Thank you. Congrats to you too... Their offer is definitely tempting and they are near the top of my list....so maybe...I'm just excited they sent me an acceptance.
Loyola-Chicago Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 1:17 am
Looks like we are part of a waitlist group...good luck.
Congrats!! Monday, March 2nd, 2009 at 12:35 am
Hey! Looks like you've got some amazing options up there! Congrats & good luck!
Decision Sunday, March 29th, 2009 at 7:25 am
Congrats on reaching a decision. What made you decide American PT over other cheaper options. I am facing a similar decision and have to give Pitt a decision by April 1.
Loyola Chi Question Friday, April 10th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Congrats on all your acceptances! You have some great options, and I would've chosen American too. I am currently on Loyola Chicago's waitlist, and was wondering... what did you do (if anything) to get in off of it? And so quickly?! Thanks for any help you can provide!
Congrats!!!! Thursday, April 30th, 2009 at 4:14 am
Congrats on your admission and decision to attend American Law!! I almost went there for undergrad right out of high school :D I'm sure it will be an amazing experience!
