I hope you do well. I'm sure you will. Have you happened to have heard anything back from U. of Louisville yet? I still haven't heard anything.

 • Love to see you here next year

I suspect you're familiar with Vanderbilt already, but we'd love to see you here next year. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to try to answer them, or you can go to the facebook page for next year's class (which is run by this year's 1Ls).

Did you receive an e-mail from U of Louisville? If so, what was the e-mail address?

I certainly wouldn't put your "chances" of a Vandy admittance in any real doubt! In fact, I would surprised if you weren't offered some scholarship money, given the school's reputation for generosity. Even if you're familiar with the school already, those kinds of things seem to work into scholarship consideration. At any rate, best of luck, and I hope you end up here next year!

 • Monday, December 03 2007 at 09:16 AM

My #1's are FSU, UF, and Tenn. I actually received my Samford acceptance today, so you're somewhat of a modern-day Nostradamus! What's your #1?

 • Thank you!

I might have guessed. I love it there, good luck this cycle!

I think you'll have no prob getting into Vandy...with that 170 you didn't want to take a crack at T10? A 170 opens a lot of doors...

To another Tennessean with a 170, I wish you the best of luck this cycle. Vandy is going to be awesome!

I want an acceptance. Why won't Memphis let us in already?

Congratulations on WUSTL and Vandy. Two great schools..i've been doing alot of research on both, and am finding very very few differences between the two. If i get into Vandy (probably won't with my GPA) i'm going to have a very diffuclt decision to make, but congrats!

 • Thursday, December 13 2007 at 11:33 AM

Thanks for the nice words ha. You go to Vanderbilt already i'm sure right? Do you love it? I'm kind of scared to get into Vandy because then i mean, i'd have to go and make one of the harder decisions of my life because all i've heard is how similar the two schools are. They're even one spot apart on USNWR rankings

- hwmyones
 • well, that depends
 • Thursday, December 13 2007 at 02:39 PM

i know, i'm surprised too. if i don't get something in the mail tomorrow, i might call and see what's up. my first choices are YHS, but i know that's not entirely realistic. so columbia, nyu, penn are probably more realistic "first choices," though i'm really happy with georgetown - i'd love to go there.

The University of the South, sweet. I knew one girl that went there, she's an '08 like me. Also from South Fl, i hear you guys really go nuts up there.

 • actually
 • Friday, December 14 2007 at 12:59 PM

I actually didn't realize it was a religious school. Just thought it was a secular private school. But ya, up in the mountains, i'm sure those who want to have a great time. You leaning towards any certain schools for next year?

- hwmyones
 • Vandy

If i could go anywhere i applied, probably Vandy, regardless of money. but since i won't get in there most likely, it's going to come down to Wash U or Tulane dependinghow much money i get from Tulane

- hwmyones
 • Congrats!
 • Wednesday, December 19 2007 at 10:07 AM

...on Vandy and Northwestern. Where do you think you want to go?

- ram2032
 • maybe
 • Thursday, December 20 2007 at 07:30 AM

Out of the places I've heard from so far, Gtown is probably my first choice...though I'd have to go check out Northwestern. Michigan made a decision today, I don't know what it is, but if it's a yes, I'd have to go visit there too. And I'm still waiting on a bunch of schools. Ahh!

- ram2032
 • NYU
 • Monday, December 31 2007 at 12:35 PM

:) yeah, i think would be hard to turn down living in the village and going to such a great school. i think i'll still go visit northwestern and gtown though, just for an excuse to visit chicago and dc

Well, if I get no more acceptances, I'd say I'm leaning Cornell (with GULC not out of the running)...I'll be watchin your cycle though, just to see what you do. ps. are you east/mid/west TN? (Memphis here, small liberal arts, that should give you an idea)

- normalien
 • Congrats!
 • Tuesday, January 22 2008 at 10:22 AM

Congrats on all of your acceptances! By the way, how did U of Louisville notify you?

 • Friday, January 25 2008 at 08:37 AM

Yeah, i'm kind of looking to stay here. If I don't get it, I'll most likely look for something else to do. Where do you think you'll go?

- steveclank
 • Memphis
 • Wednesday, January 30 2008 at 04:18 AM

My scholarship from Memphis was sent snail mail a week or two after my acceptance. It pays in-state tuition. I'm sure you will get it as well in the next couple of days. Still leaning toward Vandy?

- utilitarianjac
 • Undecided
 • Wednesday, January 30 2008 at 08:23 AM

At this point, I too am leaning toward Vandy, though I'd like to know what scholarships they offer. I'm also considering taking a year off, retaking the LSAT, and applying again. Ideally, I would be able to save some money, get a better score, and have work experience/better recs. I hope everything works out for the best with you!

Nothing from Memphis yet? I'm shocked. From what I understand, Vandy should begin making financial decisions in the next week or so. Good luck!

I guess no more law school for me this year. Guess i'll have to do something else. Have you decided on a place yet?

- steveclank
 • Thank you!
 • Thursday, February 14 2008 at 06:19 PM

Thanks for the congrats. I don't really have a top choice anymore, the UT money is really tempting, but William and Mary's higher rank sounds good also. And I also have a few more applications that I haven't received a decision for yet.

I hear that Vandy is mailing scholarship decisions by the end of the week. Any closer to a decision?

I'm pretty sure at this point that I'm going to take a year off. I'm working for the state senate right now and having a great time. Vandy is definitely looking good for you with the scholarship.

- utilitarianjac
 • Thanks
 • Monday, March 10 2008 at 02:13 PM

Thanks for the congrats! I haven't yet made a decision, but right now UT is first choice because of the scholarship money.

 • A Year Off
 • Monday, March 17 2008 at 06:19 AM

I'm still thinking about it. If I do, I'll start over completely next year (lots of fun!). Right now, Pepperdine looks like a good possibility too.
