Application Information

LSAT:178
LSDAS GPA:4.01 (4)
School Type:Ivy
Major:History
Class Rank:

Extracurricular Information

I applied straight out of undergrad, and I graduated early, so I was very young while applying.

Happy about the sweep and about YLS (especially since I applied so late in the cycle), but chose HLS because it was a better fit. Yale felt too small for me.

Deferred for a year.

Scholarship $ is merit-based.

Additional Information

Notable fee waivers: Columbia, U.Chicago, UPenn, U. Michigan, UVA, Duke, Northwestern, Georgetown, UCLA, Vandy... others

I was originally planning on applying to NYU and Stanford as well, but with the early news from HLS, I decided to save the $180 in application fees!

10/3 - E-mail from Bill Hoye - Accepted at Duke! (priority track)
11/2 - E-mail from Toby Stock re: phone interview
11/9 - HLS phone interview
11/20 - E-mail and phone call - Accepted at UC Berkeley Law!
11/21 - Phone call from Toby Stock - In at HARVARD!!!
1/23 - Phone call from U.Chi Admissions Office - :)
1/29 - Green envelope from Columbia with a Butler Fellowship!
3/5 - Dean's Scholarship offer from Duke
3/13 - Merit aid from U.Chicago
3/20 - Phone call from YLS!

interview Tuesday, November 6th, 2007 at 12:38 am
It was pretty informal. He started with "whats been keeping you busy lately". Then asked me 2 or 3 questions about my application. I think I kinda babbled and definitely didn't sound too bright. We'll see how important these things are. jdrstar04

Down to one Monday, December 10th, 2007 at 7:03 pm
It looks like both of us are now down to Yale. I can only hope my cycle goes as well as yours has so far. Is the Yale 250 holding you up?

p.s. You seem to be very impressive beyond your numbers. You need to get that 250 in and complete your clean sweep. tja310tja
Hey! Thursday, December 13th, 2007 at 1:35 pm

Question Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Hey... I'm a college student considering graduating a year early also. Would you mind sharing your extracurriculars and background? You can just email me if you like. I'm trying to gauge my chances of getting into a top school. Do you think getting out early gave you a whiz-kid appeal or anything like that? Thanks a million. – logged user
Why no Stanford? Sunday, March 8th, 2009 at 5:59 am
Just curious as to why you didn'nt apply to Stanford...or NYU or Penn, for that matter. Not that you needed to, but I'm curious about your thought-process. Lawdog3
