Update (04/26/2011)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sent my SLS deposit this morning.

I have been blessed with a wonderful cycle. I know it is not usual for someone with these numbers.

ACCEPTANCES: 20 (see above).
WAIT LISTS: 2, Harvard, Chicago [withdrew]
REJECTION: 1, Yale.

About This Profile
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm going to try to make this as detailed as possible for future applicants. I am also keeping a detailed web site (private for now) that I'll release at the conclusion of this cycle. LSN and TLS have helped me so much for the past year, and I want to give something back to the community.

About The Numbers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The profile numbers are tweaked. I will not post my real statistics until I reach the end of my cycle. But you should trust me that numbers weren't my selling point (I fell beneath the median LSAT percentile for almost every school to which I applied -- below the 25th in many cases!) My GPA is stronger: around medianfor most schools.

About The Softs
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have stronger-than-average softs, IMO. But I believe that the strength of my application centered on my well-crafted personal statement, diversity statement (non-URM), resume and letters of recommendation (of which I had three.)

Are you an Under-Represented Minority (URM)?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No.

The List of Acceptances & Grant Money
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 - Stanford - $116,613 [need-aid, projected]
4 - Columbia - $37,500 -- withdrawn
5 - NYU - $140,520 [Root-Tilden-Kern recipient!] -- withdrawn
7 - Penn - $61,410 -- withdrawn
7 - Michigan - $30,000 -- withdrawn
9 - Virginia - $75,000 -- withdrawn
11 - Duke - $75,000 -- withdrawn
12 - Northwestern -- $0 -- withdrawn
13 - Cornell - $36,000 -- withdrawn
14 - Georgetown - $90,000 -- withdrawn
14 - UT - $69,240 -- withdrawn
16 - UCLA - $90,550 -- withdrawn
18 - USC - $146,520 [Rothman recipient!] -- withdrawn
18 - WUSTL - $120,000 -- withdrawn
20 - Minnesota - $120,390 -- withdrawn
23 - Illinois - $120,000 -- withdrawn
23 - BU - $90,000 -- withdrawn
27 - Iowa - $123,966 -- withdrawn
30 - Emory - $96,000 [Woodruff finalist] -- withdrawn

Data is for all three years.

I Did Not Apply To The Following Schools
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My strategy was to blanket the top 30 schools. However, I did not submit an application to the following schools for various reasons:

16 - Vanderbilt (no fee waiver)
20 - George Washington (no fee waiver)
23 - Notre Dame (incompatible fit)
23 - UC-Davis (no fee waiver)
27 - Boston College (no fee waiver)
27 - William & Mary (ran out of time)

Also, there was an odd payment mix-up for University of California--Berkeley Boalt Hall, so I withdrew while in CR1.

USC's Frank Rothman Scholars Interview
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of four finalists selected to interview for USC's Frank Rothman Scholars Program, which includes full-tuition, stipend, and guaranteed summer associates position at Skadden. Interviewed April 5, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. Delightful trip.

Was extended the Rothman offer on 04/13/2011 at 9:28 AM PT. Very surprised and grateful for this option. The scholarship is full-tuition for three years ($140,322) and a stipend. The scholarship also includes guaranteed a paid summer associates position at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, LLP. Will be very tough decision! I will have until Monday to decide.

Withdrew from the offer on Friday 04/15/2011 @ 2 AM CT.

NYU's Root-Tilden-Kern Program
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I interviewed for the full-tuition public-interest scholarship at NYU School of Law on 04/02/2011. I thought my interview went pretty well; I got emotional and teared up mid-interview, which I thought was a sign of weakness. Everyone on the panel was extremely nice and supportive. I was extended an full-tuition offer via phone call that same night at 8:15 PM ET. I have 72 hours (three business days) to respond. = $140,520. Very honored.

04/07/2011: Formally withdrew the offer. Just couldn't deal with the "exploding" offer.

Haha, ok, but I predict that those schools will have good outcomes. :) Plus you already have so many amazing acceptances that you shoulnd't have to worry too much. :) Good luck!

While it is a lower ranked 1st choice than yours, I am wait-listed at my 1st choice and would love to know what your strategy is to get an offer. Also, what type of communication you have had already with Harvard in your efforts to get accepted?

Tough luck...
