good luck this cycle, I'm sure you'll get in everywhere!
- poochkersI have heard a lot of conflicting views about what the Georgetown Interview means....have you heard anything yourself?
- maria3On Texas!
- PinkTikiWell good luck with Georgetown...and congrats on UT : )
- maria3congrats on UT! i have very similar numbers and went complete about the same time as you so i'm hoping i can hear soon
- xxandyxx07On Georgetown!
- PinkTikiHi ny28, I am currently enrolled at UT (graduating next week), and have loved every second of my time in Austin. I will probably not matriculate at UT, because I am interested in entertainment law. For that, I'm going to need to trade places with you and get to California. :) It's a great campus, though, and Austin is one of the best towns in America IMO. Thanks for the congratulations! Allow me to extend them back your way!
- rward2007Are you an URM? I have the same LSAT but I retook in Dec. b/c I didn't think I had a chance at GULC
- washdc23I got a letter from the Financial Aid Dept (separate from the acceptance letter...) a day or two after the acceptance came. The acceptance didn't mention anything at all about money. I read somewhere else about someone who got a second Fin. Aid letter upping their offer. I am not a TX resident (NY actually).
- rsr28Also, later in the cycle, if they still haven't offered anything, you could try to hit them up for in-state tuition. Their in-state rate is WAY lower than out-of-state and might not be that tough to get.
- rsr28I graduated from USC in 98'. NW is at the top of my list as is USC. I'm hoping to get some $$$ from one of my top choices. GO TROJANS
- jimbofisherthey said that I have until May 9th to say that I want to still be considered, and then they will revisit my application in May. I personally think its sort of rude to defer until May when its only January. I get the march deferrals because thats when people will be making decisions after financial aid info, but May is a little extreme. I will be withdrawing shortly, as Cornell was a preference to Northwestern anyway.
- Abbygal0330nope no WE for me...so northwestern was a long shot for me...we've gotten into some of the same schools good luck!
- ironmo23I work for a Congressperson as well, but I graduated in May and have only been working 6 months. I also have heard that NW likes to hold a lot of people and then let them in if they still show interest in May, so even a deferral there isn't the end of the world. You are definitely competitive there, do not worry! Also congrats on the other acceptances! I am definitely considering Gtown seriously...
- mea2006No work experience, one semester of volunteer work after graduation. Good luck.
- timmyh3523I was wondering how you ended up getting money from Texas? Did they send you an offer later, or did you ask them yourself about matching or in-state or something?
- CaseySorry... I forgot to mention that I don't have an account on here, you can email me if you don't mind!
- CaseyAs another GULC PT accept I am curious about your thinking. Seems we are in a similar situation, although I think your great GPA and soft factors will get you off a WL or two, or three. Anyway, I am seriously leaning towards GULC but am doing LOCI at other schools simply to have the most options. I just withdrew from TX, but I did not get any $. Sorry for the long message. Cheers.
- HopesandDreamsI was placed on hold at NU in February. I was admitted in late April. Good luck!
- anon006Sorry for the delay. I emailed them after the acceptance and told them about my other $$ offers. They quickly got back to me with a scholarship. Also-- I never received an email telling me my status had changed. I just happened to check the status checker. Turns out I'd been accepted for 2 weeks. They said it was a technical glitch. But, you might want to check online occasionally. Best of luck
- sturberGULC has bi-coastal reputation that \'s very strong in Big Law. Emory is big placement in Atlanta -- but if you don\'t want to relocate to deep South forget it. Texas is a mixed bag in big law placement -- obviously within Texas it\'s considered King and placement in big law houston and dallas is easy, however back in California, I think ROI is better with GULC and brand name is bigger in SoCal.
- JerryI was looking through the site and noticed that you were in a similar situation that I am this year. I have similar numbers. If you can email me about how you got money from Texas that would be great. I want to go there, but would like some type of assistance. How do you like Georgetown?
