Additional Information
6/30/09 - sent in my money to UNC, but deferred until fall 2010. excited to be a tarheel (again!)
1/19/09- waiting, waiting, waiting. Come ON Vandy!
1/14/09 - Got a letter from CU-Boulder today. Waitlisted. Wtf?? Not only am I surprised, but I am a little nervous now. I don't card so much about colorado because I wouldn't have gone even if I had gotten in, but I am more worried about what that means for the rest of my cycle, and schools that I actually do want to get in to.
On a different note, I had a long talk today with a family member about law school and the choices that I will make in the next few years. I honestly don't think its fair to my husband or family to undertake all the debt that Vandy would give me for maybe a marginal payback in open doors. It is looking more and more like UGA here I come!
1/10/09 - Just got married and went on my honeymoon...when I got back a little information was waiting for me! Dinged at UVA - not at all surprising, but I was hoping for a waitlist. Oh well. Also got a full ride at Pace and a $15000 a year at Campbell. The full ride is tempting, but not really enough so to actually go there. It would just be nice to be free. Still waiting most anxiously for UNC and Vandy. May take the Feb LSAT if Vandy WL me.
12/30/08 - My fiance and I went down to Athens last week to check out the town and the campus of UGA. It is a really nice college town. It seems pretty small, and was kind of deserted since it is Christmas break, but it was still nice to see it. It is a pretty campus - lots of old buildings and history. I definitely think it is in the running, particularly if I get any more scholarship and/or don't get in to UVA or Vandy (reaches, I know).
12/17/08 - got an acceptance packet from Wake Forest. Letter says scholarship decisions will be mailed in the spring (like March)
12/15/08 - called UGA to talk about scholarship. Informative discussion with the admissions person. Hoping to get a little more in the coming months. We'll see.
12/11/08- So I got the scholarship email from UGA last night. It basically makes up for the difference between in state and out of state tuition for one semester of your first year (after that you can apply for in state residency.) So I would be paying for only one semester of out of state as opposed to two for the first year. The difference ends up being almost $8500...not bad to save that amount of money. I was hoping for in state for the whole year, but I am not going to turn down any money ever. :) My fiance and I are planning a trip down to Athens over Christmas. I am hoping I will love it, and my decision will be pretty much made.
12/10/08 - got scholarship from UGA! Will post more info when more details come in about it! VERYYY excited!
12/10/08 - did my vandy interview yesterday. Very laid back and relaxed. Hopefully it will count for something in the admission process!
12/6/08 - no news...I would really love another acceptance right about now...
12/1/08 - according to this site, it seems that lots of acceptances will be going out in the next few weeks. hopefully a few of those will be coming for me!
11/26/08 - received an email saying that my application for the University of Colorado is complete. Nice to know, since I hadn't even heard that they had received it. Now it really is just waiting...
11/25/08 - Spoke to UGA 2L yesterday for a while...very tempting place it seems. She said scholarship info will be out in 3-4 weeks, so I will be anxiously awaiting that. I think I would really love Athens, and with Atlanta not too far from there, it is getting to be a more tempting offer. No other news though...I really wish I would hear back from some other schools!
11/24/08 - updated choice #s. Numbers now reflect my odds (percentage) of getting in according to hourumd. We'll see how accurate it is!
11/21/08 - called the rest of the law schools that I had not heard from yet. Wanted to make sure my applications were received and complete. For schools that say received and complete on the same day, that is what happened. The only one that couldn't (wouldn't?) give me a straight answer was UNC, who said that I would hear from them if I was missing anything. Submitted my UC-Boulder application a little later, so will give them a few weeks to get back to me before I call.

11/7/08 - got the UGA acceptance letter..I had nightmares that maybe the online status checker was just wrong and I really didn't get in, so its nice to know that its real! They also sent me a fancy University of Georgia Law sticker for my car...
I am really hoping for some scholarship money, because I would love to be a bulldog!
11/6/08 - got my first acceptance today! I was trying to figure out if I could remember my password for the UGA application status checker. I wasn't even logging in to check the status, but just to see if I could figure out my password, and there it was -- "Congratulations, you have been admitted!" VERY exciting. Can't wait to get the snail mail acceptance and see if there is any possibility of scholarship.
I'm going to law school! woohoo!
10/27/08 - submitting applications today! can't wait for this whole process to be over!
10/26/08 - received fee waiver from Georgia. Was going to apply anyway, so great to not have to pay!
10/24/08 - got the LSAT score back. Not too happy with it, but accepting it because I cannot bear to take the test again. It's good enough, just not what I was expecting.

Wow, did your decision really come in on the same day that your application went complete?? I'm really interested because I'm pretty sure my long-awaited LOR gets to them tomorrow (making my app complete), and, hoping against hope, maybe I'll get a decision that fast too...
thanks! :) Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 at 1:17 am
congrats on UGA, and good luck hearing back from all of your schools!
Thank you Monday, December 1st, 2008 at 12:37 pm
& Congrats to you too! I was thinking of calling to make sure it was real lol. Hopefully I get the official letter in the mail soon. A car decal? I always love a nice car decal, or a t-shirt! Which is your top choice?
Top choice Monday, December 1st, 2008 at 3:07 pm
I'm so fickle I change my mind at a moment's whim! UGA makes the most sense for me at this point. I won't need to take out a huge private loan and like you said money is a big issue. I'm scared I won't even get a loan to go to Georgia since I lost my job and am starting to get late on credit card payments :-(
Hope so! Monday, December 1st, 2008 at 7:29 pm
Don't you love how fast UGA is turning decisions around?? Good luck with your apps, and I wouldn't be a good dawg if I didn't mention that UGA & Athens is, in my humble opinion, the best education/business connections/learning environment/social scene/quality of life etc., oh and the cheapest!
Thanks Saturday, December 6th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
You, as well. My sister is 2L at Texas.

Thank you! And you as well!

What are you thinking about UGA? Do you have any info on scholarships? They called me but I accidentally deleted the message. I'm out of state, and I'd need an out of state tuition equalizer or something for sure!
UGA Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
I got an email like that yesterday, in-state for one semester. I really would need the whole first year though, hopefully it would be negotiable! I have to admit, when I applied to UGA I wasn't seriously considering it, but they're making a concerted effort to get me and out of all the schools I'm in at right now they're the leader in the clubhouse.
Pace Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
You got your letter in the mail already? Did you apply early decision?
Campbell $$$$ Sunday, December 14th, 2008 at 11:14 am
why no money from campbell? would have thought with your ### you would get something significant. i got my acceptance yesterday and i was hoping for some $$$ but it said nothing about this in the package. do u think this means we got no money or will they notify later???
congrats Sunday, December 14th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
thanks! Good luck on your cycle too. Im hoping to go to Emory, and our scores are almost identical so hopefully we both get it in!
UGA Monday, December 15th, 2008 at 7:19 am
Are you just going to look at the campus? I thought they were closed for tours over the break. If it's open that'd be cool as I'm dying over boredom here and live in ATL.
Places to live Monday, December 15th, 2008 at 11:18 am
I only went to a football game my senior year so I have no clue about anything concerning Athens. I know a couple of people are already starting the search for places so it's good you're looking now. I will contact some people I know down there and get back with you soon. Good luck!

congrats on wake! have you visited yet?

i have never been and they were not really on my radar until they offered me a fee waiver.
but after that i loved how small the law school is, and their clinical/litigation focus. plus, its such a great university, in general. that is very appealing.
i have to wait and see if i am going to visit...nice to hear its pretty and that its a nice place, though. :)

Scholarship Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 at 6:12 pm
Congrats on your acceptances so far!
You had sent me a question about a month ago asking about scholarships at UGA. It seems you already found out their offer, but I'd encourage you to talk to them about increasing it. A simple email last year increased mine by $1k.
Personally, I can't speak highly enough about Athens and UGA. I did my undergrad there and loved every second. Best of luck through the rest of your cycle!

Just wondering, have you had any communication from Pace since submitting your app? Any confirmation emails that they received your application or are complete?
Pace Monday, January 12th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
Thanks for the info! I'll definitely be on the phone this afternoon.
Vandy Friday, January 23rd, 2009 at 6:51 pm
Have you had your decision sent yet? Mine just went through yesterday.
WF scholly Sunday, February 8th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
hey, did they send your wfu scholarship with your acceptance? or did you get it separately? is it a half scholarship, or what? basically i'm panning for any details you'd be willing to share on it! thanks
well, congrats! Sunday, February 15th, 2009 at 1:47 am

Congratulations on Emory!!! I am really hoping for that school.... and good luck with Vandy. Is it your top choice? GW is mine and I'm waitlisted there. Congratulations on all your acceptances!
