Extra Curricular Information

I've been going back and forth about putting up my stats. Since my cycle is almost over though, I'm putting them back up.

10-11-07: In at Duke (by e-mail)! Yay, I'm going to law school!

Late October: Harvard phone interview- I'm excited that I made it this far, but not getting my hopes up too high.

10-31-07: In at Georgetown by regular mail

11-13-07: Status checker changed to decision at Michigan. *Crosses fingers*
11-15-07: Acceptance package from Michigan!! (I'm sort of stunned!)

11-19-07: Phone call acceptance to Berkeley!

11-21-07: Harvard!!!! Ahh!!!!!!!!!!! I just can't believe it!!!
12-7-07: The binder arrived from Harvard. :)

12-8-07: Accepted to NYU by mail

12-11-07: Accepted at Cornell by e-mail

12-17-07: Accepted to Penn by phone call

12-20-07: Accepted to Stanford (by phone)!!! I can't believe it!!

1-1-08: Returned to my apartment to find packages from Penn and Stanford. The t-shirt from Stanford was definitely a nice touch.

1-11-08: Received UVa acceptance letter

2-10-08: Withdrew from Cornell. I LOVE Ithaca and would recommend it to anyone, but I'm ready for a different experience.

2-23-08: Withdrew from Georgetown. I'm also wondering if I should call the Columbia office. I'm sure I've been deferred or waitlisted, but I haven't heard anything from them since I went complete.

2-28-08: Dean's Scholarship at Duke

3-3-08: Columbia deferral, with another random person's deferral stuck to the envelope of my deferral. She lives about 6 hours away. I guess I should mail it to her? Weird

3-5-08: RTK interview notification at NYU! (and withdrew from Boalt)

3-6-08: Dean's scholarship at Michigan
3-7-08: Withdrew from Michigan

3-26-08: Virginia scholarship offer

3-28-08: Withdrew from Columbia

4-7-08: Withdrew from Duke and Penn

4-9-08: Informed that I didn't get the RTK. It was actually a relief--made the decision a lot easier. Harvard it is!

4-10-08: Withdrew from NYU

How do I use status checker at Michigan?

Regarding Letters of Rec. My law school reports have been ordered by the schools but LSAC has only received 1 of my letters or rec. 2 more are on their way. When LSAC gets those letters, will they automatically be sent to the law schools or do I need to order another report and have it sent to the school? Do you know?

Awesomeness! Your acceptance gives me hope! Interested in throwing an app to Yale? I keep changing my mind about it. From a little research on message boards, it looks like Yale might be more generous with financial aid than Harvard, but Harvard will match for people accepted at Yale.

  • Congratulations on Stanford!

We have the exact same numbers unless yours are fudged, and yet you've just knocked down this cycle, while I'm still waiting on many schools. Are your soft factors incredible or anything to that effect? URM? I'm curious, and I hope this doesn't sound jealous, since we're both very competitive, and we'll hopefully both do well in LS.

  • Me too.

I really love the east coast. And from everything I've been hearing from my friends already in law school and job-hunting, it seems the east coast schools have a stronger reputation among most firms. However, I think I'm waiting for thw ASWs to really tell for myself but I think I'm already biased for Harvard :) Hopefully see you there!
