Additional info & updates

Very anxious to be in law school. Hoping for the best for everyone.
Trying to put as much info here to help everyone out.

Basically, NYU / CLS were always my top choices as I wanted to stay in NYC. Obviously a decision from HLS or YLS or money at another T6 would have complicated things, but realistically NYU and CLS were my top.

Luckily, things didn't get complicated and my whole process was very anticlimactic. I heard from NYU first - 2 weeks after I applied. I was speechless as I opened the package and I still think that I am dreaming.

Anyway, withdrew from most other schools quickly thereafter. Here's the info I can provide about the notifications from the schools I stuck with:

NYU - big, first class envelope.

CLS - small envelope.

Brooklyn - e-mail from status check.

Fordham - e-mail from status check.

Hofstra - big first class envelope.

Emory - big first class envelope.

Yale - small envelope.

Penn - small envelope.

Georgetown - small envelope.

Other than that, not sure how else I can help. Good luck to all of you. Please feel free to ask me questions. I won't be checking this often but I will check it.

Just curious but did you get an acceptance phone call from Emory before you received the envelope?

Thanks for the message -- I don't go to Stern/NYU, I go to a different school in NYC. Congrats on NYU though, its a great acceptance!

Thanks

For your thanks! Looks like you're pretty set on somewhere in New York. I am not sure yet whether NYU or Columbia is better (and for me), though at this point the money would definitely swing me to Columbia. What's your preference?

NYU it is

unless someone else wants to pay for my education...highly unlikely

Right now I'm leaning towards taking the scholarship at Vanderbilt. Money from NYU could change my mind, but I doubt that I'll get any.

Thanks! Congrats on your NYU acceptance as well. I'm visiting Chicago in April b/c I'm pretty split b/w the two. It's probably coming down to financial aid. I noticed you didn't withdraw from Columbia (or GULC) - could either of them really stop you from enrolling at NYU?

Thanks!!

Congrats to you too on your acceptances so far. UVA definitely tugs at my heart a little bit, but I think I'll visit at least a few. I have a crush on Harvard too, but they're playing hard to get. Do you have any top choices?

thanks

and congrats on yours too! i take it you're leaning toward nyu at this point. i think i am as well... really love the city and the public interest program. but it's a tough decision and i'll definitely be making some visits over the next month. good luck with the rest of your applications!

thanks! congrats to you too! feels good, doesn't it? Yeah, I will probably end up going in the fall, and I'm definitely going to an ASW. I already sat in on a couple of classes to scope it out and really liked it.

I'll be at the April 18th ASW. Already booked my flight!

ASDs
Saturday, September 29 2007 at 08:00 PM

NYU is great! I'm in a similar situation, where only a Harvard acceptance would prevent me from going to UVA. I'm trying to keep an open mind though... I went to the UVA ASD and am planning on NYU and Michigan's.

thanks

I'm not totally sure. It's up to Columbia/Chicago/Harvard, I think I'd rather go to one of those three instead. But I'm very very pleased to be accepted to NYU, even if we're a bit young :)

absolutely!
Sunday, April 08 2007 at 08:00 PM

I'm thinking of going to the last ASD, but I might go to the next one if I can get plane fare at a reasonable price. You?

NYU

Thanks, and congrats to you on NYU. Is that where you will be going? And, have you attended one of the Admitted Student Days?
