Thanks for good luck wishes. I wish you the same. I don't think you need my advice. You look like you have a good range of schools. I would consider aplying to Washington University, UConn or William and Mary. They are all good schools. But if not, I think you have some good schools on your list already. What is your first choice?

hi! thanks for the shout. I wish I had some advice for a fellow splitter, but I don't have any brilliant tips. I think that they'll pay extra attention to the soft parts of our apps though since our numbers kind of contradict each other. one thing I've done is look at the indexes to see which schools weight the LSAT more heavily than GPA - something you may want to consider.
I was gonna say get your apps in early, but it appears you've beaten me to the punch on that. :-D. Big thumbs up for that, and awesome use of the PT option at the schools that have it...I think applying PT to Fordham gives you a serious shot there). UCLA is a reach since they are GPA whores, but you've got a shot. I'd say outside of UCLA & USC you're in at most (if not all) of the other CA schools (which is great since they all place well in their respective cities...Loyola in LA, USD in SD, etc....so it'll just be the case of deciding where you want to practice most). All in all, you should have a successful cycle...you seem to have a good grasp on where you'll fit and you've applied appropriately. Best of luck. :-D

no real tips, but to answer you question about fee waivers: Georgetown, U of T - via email Columbia, Cornell - via snail mail Georgetown came in september. Columbia and U of T in early october. Cornell came in early Nov.
Cal Western is in SD and I rather not re-locate, plus La Verne will give me more $$$. I dont know though, If it came down to those two, I'd have a tough time deciding. Anyway, you have some great #'s so good luck with your apps.
yeah man, I'm considering withdrawing from the Dec. LSAT. Nice numbers... and best of luck to you too.

Yea I'm sure CAL Western is a much better school, La Verne just got accredited. I'm just hoping I wont have to decide between those two by getting into Southwestern! I wish I had your LSAT SCORE!!!
thanks for the comment. i don't really have any tips, but i know about me... i applied to a lot of schools last cycle that you're applying to this cycle and it didn't go so well. but your numbers are higher than mine. i thought soft factors would help, but it didn't help me :(. but good luck, maybe add another saftey school? i'm pretty sure (almost absolutely certain, you'll at the very least get into Southwestern and Santa Clara.) best of luck to you. which is your first choice?
i applied to davis, sd, santa clara, and la... in december of last year. kind of late, so that might be part of the reason behind the rejects. but good luck!
Yes I did receive a Christmas card from Santa Clara. I don't know what to make of it. I did apply EA, sowe are supposed to get some sort of decision by this Friday. I want to think that the card is a good sign, but I don't want to get my hopes up. Good luck to ya!

I too received the Christmas Card from SCU. I figure there are two ways to look at it: Optimist - They like your file and are showing you how nice they are to persuade you to go there. Pessimist - They are going to reject you and are softening the blow for the rejection that is coming your way. I've toggled between these two outlooks depending on the day of the week. Best of luck to you.

Hey fuzzy, thanks for stopping by. Yeah i received an xmas card after I received the letter saying i was defeered...thanks alot Santa Clara. Good luck on your apps...we do have similar numbers!
Informing me that After carefully considering your application, the Admissions Committee has decided to postpone a final decision until later in the admissions processmost applicants can expect a decision prior to March. Of the options available in the drop down menu, I think "deferred" is the correct term for this situation, but if not, see above for what I was getting at. I haven't looked at the status checker in ages, so that might have changed... Anyways, thanks for dropping by good luck to you
That was supposed to read: "Got a letter informing me..." Apparently, beer + typing = unintelligible nonsense.
Hornetrb did hear back fast because he's the Shit. good luck with the rest of you admissions...
yea, my lsat is low and grades suck, but i got accepted to sw because of my soft factors as the admissions lady stated. 5 leadership positions including president in college. heavy involvement in the korean american community in LA. received many awards from local state senators, city councilmen, etc. worked various political campaigns including davis anti-recall, state sen joe baca jr, etc heavy involvement at my church. served in leadership roles as well as a teacher for years interned for senator boxer worked at a real estate development firm in santa monica worked at wells fargo currently employed fulltime in korea family was victim in the LA riots of 1992
Their loss. I'd rather go to Santa Clara. Good luck w/ the rest of your cycle.
Thanks for the good thoughts they paid off. I got into Southwestern today. Although I probably won't be going because I will likely have other options, it's nice to be wanted. I remember being afraid of getting a rejection from Southwestern after getting a 144 on my first practice exam. Now I'm in with a scholarship to come (I hope). I'm wishing you luck as well but it looks like you have nice options already. We applied to many of the same schools so it will be interesting to see the results. What is your first choice now (Loyola)?
That is weird you haven't heard from SCU. Unless my $12 lottery ticket at Cornell hits, I'll probably go to SCU. Where are you leaning towards?
hiya, i agree with you, hastings is a hole. i wouldn't have gotten in with my crappy numbers, but i went to their open house and it was a dirty school in a dirty location. as for why tjsl deferred that other member on here, i think they figured her numbers were too high for them to offer anything substantial, or they figured she honestly would choose another school. congrats on USD! wish i could've gotten in!
I'm still pending at SCU as well. Which school are you leaning towards?
They emailed me about the scholarship and then packet arrived a few days later.
Hey, it seems that we are among several people on LSN to receive a same scholarship from Case at around the same time. Are you planning on attending? I'm not sure if I am but I am very seriously considering it. It also seems that you and I have a very similar dilemma. We are both accepted at decent local schools but Case Western would actually be cheaper to attend. In my case, I have a $16,000 scholarship to the University of San Diego so I'm very confused about which school to choose. I'm going to ask USD to match Case's offer first. What about you?
thanks for lookin, i hope this works out for the both of us!
