Duke -- 10/19/07 -- In by email!

Texas -- 11/01/07 -- In by snail mail! About 1 week later received scholarship info -- 21,000 over 3 years, plus in-state tuition. All told, is about 60k dollars cheaper because of this.

UCLA -- 11/07/07 -- In by phone call!

Georgetown -- In by snail mail!

Harvard -- In by phone call! Awesome.

Michigan -- In by snail mail!

01/22/08 -- In at Chicago by phone call!

01/24/08 -- In at Columbia by snail mail!

01/31/08 -- In at Northwestern, if I defer for one year, with a 45k per year scholarship. Awesome.

02/16/08 -- Dean's scholarship at UCLA for full tuition all three years(!). SoCal suddenly seems very nice. . .

02/29/08 -- Levy Scholars email.

03/04/08 -- 36k at Michigan, Dean's scholar. Will try to negotiate for more.

I have the exact same numbers as you but not the same motivation. I am struggling to get all of my apps out, and I have absolutely no confidence of my ability to get in anywhere. Good luck with the rest of your apps!

Congrats!

...on all of your acceptances so far. More to come, I'm sure, but it must feel nice to be about half-done SO early! I'll admit, I'm quite jealous!

No clear favorite right now. I have two roommates that are currently deferring...one to H and one to Y...so they're both trying to sway me (before I get any decision - so they're being a bit presumptive) to move to be with them at their new home. :-) Money could probably sway me a bit, too, but I think it will come down to whichever place just "feels" right when I visit.

Great job!

You seem to be on the fast track to a great school! Any preferences one way or another at this point?

Choices

I think you have an excellent perspective about how prestige and money can weigh in on a decision, but there might be enough scholarship offers to make the decision tough! My primary encouragement would be to visit, visit, visit. Three or four spots on UsNews rankings are not enough to trump things like location, atmosphere, etc. Personally, I had a similar choice to yours with money v. higher school rank (but not Harvard--congrats on that!), but the people, atmosphere, and location at Vanderbilt made it a non-decision. I think speaking with current students will give you the best perspective of law school life and atmosphere at a particular school. If you're interested in Vanderbilt (which would probably offer decent scholarship $), please check out the Class of 2011 facebook page at http://vanderbilt.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6634896370. It's run by the current 1L class, and I think our enthusiasm alone (no school or admissions involvement or oversight) is significant. Best of luck!

for the congrats. I know what you mean about money being a big factor...I guess we'll both be waiting to see whether there are any offers that are tempting enough to defy "conventional wisdom" about the best options. Best of luck making your decisioN!

I don't get it. You only get the scholarship if you defer a year?

As of now, HLS seems to be the leader. A seemingly improbable Y or S acceptance could definitely win me over though. Money at UC or Upenn would also factor in considerably. Hopefully next month I'll have a better idea of how it will all work out. Going to any ASWs?
