I agree. I have a 154 and a 3.65 and TONS of other junk. Rejected. I'm almost inclined to think it's a prank.... Goodluck with whichever school you decide to go to!! :) & Congrats on your acceptances!!!
Yep
Drake has a pretty good reputation within Iowa. I know at least 1 person from my class who ended up at Drake Law, and he seems to love it there. One thing that makes me lean a little more toward Iowa is that Drake isn't very well-known OUTSIDE the state, and I know I won't be sticking around IA after graduation. Good luck with your decision, and congrats on all your acceptances!
I'm not exactly sure what to tell you. I got that financial aid letter today as well, but I can't imagine why they would assign you a Panther ID if you're not admitted. I would say it's a good sign, but you should call the admissions office anyway. I also received an invitation today to their accepted students reception, so you should look out for that as well. Good luck!
I did send in the divisity and general scholarship form when initial appying. I am not sure what impact they had on the scholarship I received or if you would have needed to submit them in order to be awarded a schoarship. As for Drake, when I visited I got a very good vibe from everyone at the university. The school is not very big so everyone seemed very friendly, unlike some of the large universities I have been too. I know a few people who attend undergrad and law there and loved it. They all seemed to have pretty good job prospects coming out as well. I have already sent in my seat deposit so maybe I will see you there in the fall. Good Luck with your decision.
yes, everything came as a package, and no I didn't fill out any extra forms
No I am not going, unfortunately I have to work. I went down in January for a visit though and I think you will really like it. I think it is Drake Relays weekend which is a big deal in the track world, I would recommend you check it out. Keep an eye out for an apartment that allows pets for me because I am going to need to get one soon. Hopefully you will have a good visit and I will see you in August.
Yeah, that's strange about FIU. I just talked to them about two weeks ago about it. I told them I'd been accepted to my #2 school and needed to know about FIU before May 1, so they told me to call about a week before the deposit at my #2 school is due. Not sure if that'll do any good or not...
I didn't make it down there (from Wisconsin). I just got accepted last week after the RSVP deadline and already made plans with friends here. I plan to go housing hunting in the next couple weeks. Did you go?
I'm glad you were able to make it up there. I am used to the whole craziness of a large university as well so it will be an experience adjusting to the small school feel but I will like developing relationships with professors as opposed to the whole, "yeah I see the Prof. in lecture but thats about it" mentality. I also like Drake becasue they have a Legislative Practice and Constitutional Law Center...two things that are of high interest for me. Plus, it is still in the midwest so I will be close to family in Wisconsin. I will keep you up to date on housing decisions. I have some friends that have lived there and I am just awaiting a response from them as to good/safe neighborhoods near the Drake campus.
Congrats on all of your acceptances. I was wondering if you already withdrew your app from FIU? I am on hold for the PT program and I know seats are extremely limited. Thank you!
Hey, I went to Des Moines this past weekend and applied for an apartment in Johnston. It would be about a 10 minute drive to campus but I don't mind that since it is a nice neighborhood and I think I got a good deal. What places have you looked at there?
The joke is gonna be on them when they don't have a class to field. I haven't seen one person they've accepted on LSN that looks like they'll actually take the acceptance (because they're accepted to UF, FSU and Miami!!) I checked out last years cycle at Stetson and didn't find one person rejected with more than a 153 and 3.0 gpa. I hope they know what they're doing.....although it doesn't seem like it when they're rejecting people who fall right in the middle of their avg. numbers. We're the ones who would actually go, lol. They must have a new admission officer who isn't aware they're only a tier 3 law school.
