MERCER WAITLIST
Does anyone have any info on the likelyhood of getting off their waitlist? Is it very long? Any info would be great!

Mercer v. Samford
Also if any of you guys chose between Mercer and Samford or are still deciding......I'd love to hear your thoughts comparing the two schools.

Is there more to the Stetson rejection? I can't understand how you got rejected with your numbers?

You applied to 5 out of the 6 schools I applied to. And we have similar numbers. Do you have any idea what happened with the Stetson decision? I'm very confused by this. ps; your sn describes exactly how i feel. i wish they'd hurry up!!! =) goodluck!

WTF STETSON!

I can't believe you got rejected from Stetson! That is awful news for me considering we have almost identical #'s (yours slightly higher) Oh well, I guess that will make my decision easier! Good luck on the rest of your cycle!

I really would like to speak to the Stetson adcomms... your response from them is a super "WTF!!!" Boooooo, Stetson. Boooo.

Barry by a little
Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

If I had to say what school I was leaning towards right now I'd say Barry because I really like Orlando and it seems like its on the way up. Basically all schools still in play though and if I got into LSU or FSU or Stetson that could change things. You should be Auto Admit at Loyola NO because they told me if you have at least a 3.1 and a 153 you don't have to go to comittee. Good Luck, maybe we'll end up at the same school!

I wouldn't count UF and FSU out just yet... I'm sending you good thoughts!! And one more thing --- I was talking to a friend of mine who is a 1L at UF right now, and he was flat-out rejected by Stetson with an LSAT in the 160s and a 3.9+. ???????????????

UF / Stetson

Hey! I actually got rejected from Stetson today- which I find sort of funny in a ridiculous way. I don't know what they are thinking, but I'd like to thank them for saving me 98K; they definitely aren't worth that kind of money. I found out about UF a week before Christmas. THey just siad they are waiting on making a decision. It's my first choice and I'm very nervous. lol My LSAT was a 154 :(: i was testing in the low 160s on practice tests- but like any of the standardized tests I've taken my whole life- performed average on the real thing. I have a 3.6 overall GPA, and a 3.8 in both my majors. I was an honors student, which gave me one publication. i was really involved in SGA (senate, etc) and had leadership positions in a few other organizations. I did volunteer work and had the same job at a law firm for 3 years & great recs... Personally, I'm shocked for the both of us. GOOD LUCK!!!

UF / Stetson

That's what I was thinking- WHO is going to attend Stetson with a 160+. Not only is it not as good of a school as the Public schools in FL, but it also is EXTREMELY expensive. I just keep thinking its a prank. I'm tempted to call and just start my statement out with "WTF?!" ntohign more or less. haha- I didn't even want to go there, but I'm just shocked. Especially based on last years #'s. Anyway- what are your thoughts on FCSL? I've only heard good things. I visited and the campus is beautiful, they had the best bar passage rate a year or two ago- and they are really on top of things. I Love Jax- so if UF says no- that's where I'm headed. Just wanted to know what you had heard. :)

It looks as though we may have an identical application, I'm expecting the worst from Stetson

Miami response
Wednesday, October 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

In ans to your post to me: I found out ~ a month after they "delayed a decision" on me that I was accepted to Miami. In the interim, I sent in an updated transcript (via LSAC) and I sent a "why Miami" letter to the assistant dean (Michael Goodnight-- the guy from whom the delayed decision letter came). Good luck to you! PS I was rejected from Stetson too. What's up with that? Both of us are at their 75th percentile for LSAT and above the 75th for GPA. All I have to say is "EAT MY DUST STETSON!"

Congrats on Samford. I was in the same boat.

The key word at loyola is expensive. The faculty seem very interesting and easy to talk to and the students seem to enjoy it but they estimated apartment prices @ around $800. Also I actually like florida coastal better. if you visit both I don't see how you can come away not being more impressed by coastal. also, congrats on samford, hopefully i get in there as well! good luck!

Thanks.
Tuesday, May 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

I don't know where I'm going to go. I'm waitlisted @ Ole Miss. I'd like to hear more from them before I decide. Where are you going to go?

Loyola
Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

With you already being in at Samford, I don't think Loyola would be worth your time unless you just wanted an excuse to go get drunk on bourbon, which in that case it would very much be. The law campus seemed sort of cramped and if you get further than a couple of miles away from campus it's a really bad area. Also, there is almost NO parking by the law campus and they acknowledged that to be a problem as people had to come in and out during the acceptance day to move there cars because they were in 2 hour zones and would get towed otherwise.

Samford
Tuesday, May 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

I recently visited Cumberland and was extremely impressed by the school and by Birmingham. The school is reducing the size of its incoming freshman class to 150, which will be nice next year. The 1L LRR program was impressive. Honestly, I was not excited about Samford at all until I visited. Now it is a serious contender for next year.

Tuesday, May 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

I called and scheduled a visit w/ 48 hrs notice. They were very friendly. I have some personal reasons that made Stetson the hands down choice for me. If it wasn't for that, Samford would have been close.

Cumberland
Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

whew, I was starting to get a little nervous about Cumberland but I got my letter today, I'm visiting next week, are they your top choice that you've gotten in because I'm pretty sure they are mine

Ole Miss
Monday, December 11 2006 at 07:00 PM

I wouldn't worry that Ole Miss dropped out of the top 100, breaking ground on the new building this year should be enough to bring them back up!

Cumberland
Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

I just visited Cumberland yesterday and I was very impressed as well, it is a very nice school and everyone their seemed laid back and friendly. I will be paying my first deposit their and if I haven't heard from FSU/LSU by the time of the 2nd depsoit, I am going to go ahead and commit 100% to Cumberland. I love Birmingham and it seems like it would be a great place to live and work after graduation as well.
