Additional info & updates

-Accepted at Florida Coastal today with a 10,000 re-newable scholarship based on a 3.0. I'm excited that I have somewhere to go next year, but I know very little about the school. Anyone have any good, solid information on any aspect of the school? Also, I sent in applications today for SUNY Buffalo and Quinn- I was waiting on a fee waiver form Quinn to send that one in.

All applications not dated otherwise were sent in electronically early Jan.- WNESL and Drexel were sent by way of there own web site, and Quinn was sent in the snail mail.

1-25: I've been getting alot of "complete" letters and e-mails... Hofstra seems to send ALOT of mail in this process, I got a complete letter twice! Also, Rutgers N, Pace, WNESL, Brook, Seton Hall, and if I remember correctly Drexel. Seton Hall's comes in a small envelope- I almost had a heart attack on the front porch!

- Wanted to add- almost all application were marked "PT or Full time" if the choice was available. I believe Brooklyn and Loyola were marked PT only, but i'm not sure.

- 1.29.07- Been calling around and it seems Brooklyn never recieved my Dean's letter. I'll need to go by the Dean's office tomorrow an handle that. Also, Drake has yet to recieve a transcript that has been on LADAS for around 3 weeks. Odd. I notified them that it was there, and they said they had a batch of new letters they had not registered yet, so I hope it was in there.

I called every school I applied to today with the execption of those who had sent out "complete" letters (Seton Hall, Hofstra, RutN, Pace), those I had only recently sent out (Quinn, Buff) and the one I had recieved a decision on already (FCSL).

Albany, Rutgers Camden, WNEL and Penn all said my application was in review (generally 2-4 weeks was the timeline given), with Albany alluding to the decision already being in the mail. I didn't ask for the decision from any school over the phone. I wouldn't want to find out over the phone when I was rushing to class. I would rather find out bad news sitting down in my house where I could take a moment to mull it over in light of everything else. Any which way, I have a place to go next year.

Case and Loyola did not hint that my application was in review, only that it was complete. Drexel had to get back to me with a message on my answering machine.

My mother is asking me to apply to U Conn and Dun. I'm not really sure about this, as I feel I have a bad chance at UConn (read: none) and I am generally satisfied with the list of schools I have that I will have some choice and will be happy with those schools. We shall see, I may eat my words.

1.30.07- I don't know why, but the thought of no new mail hit me hard today. I suppose as more people recieve word back, I view my chnaces for a positive response dwindeling. Oh well, cest la vie.

1.31.07- In at Hofstra with a 12,000 scholarship based on a 3.25 (what's the Hofstra curve?). Got the tee shirt priorty mail. Also got a handwritten note about how the legal profession will be lucky to have someone as dedicated to the community as me, and it was mentioned in my acceptance letter that I had a well written and thoughtful personal statement. Wow. I feel.. honored? And I'm very glad I have options, and I can go back to NY!

02.02-Sent out more apps today to Conn, Deq based on fee waivers. That's it! No more! I don't care what fee waivers i get, or who saves to apply where!

02.09- Personal call from dean of WNEL about acceptance and massive freakin' scholarship.

02.15.07- Snowed in. I'm hoping that the mail shortage over the past few days is based on this weather. To me, this is logical because I was told I was getting mail from WNESL from the dean, but since the storm I have had 0 law mail- not even those annoying letters from schools you have never heard of because they have no accreditation, or schools inviting you to apply when you have over a month ago. I got an Email from Buffalo today asking me to send in the cert. form. I was positive I sent it in already, but it's okay- I'll resend it. It's not as if a stamp costs THAT much :).

2.15.07- Seems my mother has had my deferal letter from Rut-Newark for a few days now. Nice it was sent to the wong address. I'm miserable- they were a top choice for me.

2.17.07- In at Pace. No mention of scholarship, however they are a communtable distance from home, so I would save in costs that way. Makes me feel a little better in light of the quarter-ding from Rutgers N yesterday

2.21.07- IN AT PENN STATE! WOOOOOOOOOOOO! C campus... anyone want to share news about the different campuses/construction/anything? I know they just got a very large donation, and they have a refugee clinic I would love to work in...

2.28.07- 18k over the course of three years at Penn State (yes!), wait listed at Drexel. I sent the form in to continue to be considered at Drexel, but I'm worried about the whole accredidation thing.

3.2.07- WL at Loyola. That's two WL in a row.... damn. I'm going to send in the thing to continue to be considered.

3.4/07- Dinged at Seton Hall, in at Drake. This is turning out to be a crummy month. Seton Hall was in my top picks, and it would have been a great choice for me. Letter of ding came in a small white envelope, and it says it is non negotiable. Sent a letter two days ago to suppliment my app at Rutgers Newark.

3.5.07- in at Albany. Excited, great location, lousey price tag

3.20.07- in at quinn pt night, which is all I applied for. 8k a year. 10k a year at albany.

3.26.07- out at Uconn. No suprise there! thin, cream envelope with a one page letter. Polite, but still a no. going to Penn this weekend for an open house. Very excited.

4.1- wl at ub :(

4.2.07- Sent a deposit in at Pace, Penn. Sent letters of continued intrest to Buff, Loyola, Drexel.

4.18.07- Money is in at Penn, and short of a minor miracle I'm a Nittany Lion at UP! Started to withdraw apps at other schools.. Drake, etc.

4-22- wl at Newark. Sob.

I didn't apply because I wanted to see how my cycle started. It would've been #10 or 11 on my list, so I was waiting to see if I got in anywhere before Jan. 1, and I did, so I didn't apply. I honestly never thought I'd have so many options.

Hey, saw you were accepted to DSL and have some questions about the campuses. First off, congrats! Dickinson is a great school... I'm a student here now. Feel free to drop me a line.

Did you fill out that general scholarship app with your application? Did your scholarship come with your acceptance? Thanks in advance.
