Additional info & updates

Hoping this year works out better than last year...I chose not to apply to "lower" tier schools, because why go to LS if you're not able to do much with the school's degree...

12/03/2008---Ding @ Texas (Quick, and expected long shot, but hey I was born down there so why not...still hurt to receive a painfully short 4 sentence letter, which had to take 30 secs to write... )

12/12/2008---Surprisingly deferred to general pool @ Michigan (Same small envelope as a ding, but Director Zearfoss shockingly gives a stay of execution for the holidays...)

01/12/2009---DIng @ Michigan (...which a month later, she quickly takes back...same small envelope, which is just mean I tell you)

01/12/2009---Ding @ Maryland (Small envelope again...I can't even lie, 2 dings in one day is pretty depressing)

01/17/2009---Ding @ Temple (Another small envelope...I officially dislike all things Philly...sports, schools, even cheesesteaks, they can all kick rocks)

01/20/2009---WL @ SUNY-Buffalo (Small envelope, but thicker than others containing a letter to send back...while not liking not hearing yes, still a most welcome respite to the monotony of nos)

01/24/2009---Ding @ Wisconsin (Small envelope, but more detailed from Dean Hall...prob only got that cause he knows my friend that goes there, but a ding is still a ding)

01/26/2009---WL @ Hofstra (Small envelope, but thick like Buffalo, also containing a letter to send back...where's the love???)

01/26/2009---Ding @ Howard (Apparently the love's not in the standard small envelope they sent me)

01/29/2009---Ding @ Arizona State (Small envelope, so it's looking like warm weather 4 LS, isn't in the cards)

01/31/2009---Ding @ Connecticut (No love from the state I where I went 2 HS is def disappointing)

02/02/2009---Ding @ Rutgers-Newark (Wow, the school's 10 mins from me & showed no home field/court advantage)

03/09/2009---WL @ Penn State (Small envelope, but thick like Hofstra/Buffalo, also containing a letter to send back...wow, waited 5 months just to hear I gotta wait some more)

03/27/2009---WL @ Rutgers-Camden (Small envelope...this one was thin like those other rejections, except it was a letter stating we want you if some other people we want more don't show, lol...wow, the last outstanding school so looking like the summer before I know if I'm going to LS)

@ your cycle so far. I think your numbers + experience should've been enough to get you in at least one of the places you've applied. Do you think there was anything in your app that may have hurt you? Who wrote your LOR's? Do you have any other safeties you might apply to?

hey

I read your statement about not applying to lower tiered schools. However, have you thought about possibly applying/getting in at the lower tiered schools and then transferring?

Other T100

Have you thought about applying to other Top 100 schools, maybe 77 - 100? If you're not limited to a location, this may give you more choice.

Good luck! Fingers crossed for you! :)

Thank you! Why do you say U of WI is the better choice? Everyone keeps telling me to go to W&M but I don't want to! My issue w/ U of WI is that I don't want to be stuck working in WI or MN. The only place in the region that's attractive is Chicago. But there's so much competition there. So yes why do you thik U of WI if better?

Thanks so much for the info! :)

oh yea NYC is way too cold! i noticed ur thing against 4th tier schools also...but u can always transfer and u can always work ur way up...work experience inbetween can help too because u can always go back to that firm! but im wondering with ur experience...have u thought about JAG?
