Duke

Hey I was just wondering if Duke offered you your scholarship at the same time as they offered you admission... Let me know when you get a chance.

Yale...

Hey, thanks for the congrats! I decided not to apply to Yale mainly because I new I would rather go to Harvard, and I figured if I could get into Yale I could get into Harvard. I also didn't want to wait a long time to find out about whether I was accepted to Yale when I most likely would not end up there. Looks like things are going very well for you too, congratulations! Any idea where you want to go?

ASW's

No clue where I'm going yet. Just got back from visiting Columbia and NYU- loved them both! I'm visiting UVA on the 15th and 16th and Duke on the 23rd and 24th. Is that when you're going to Duke?

Response to Chicago Question
Friday, September 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

They notified me of the Chicago scholarship in a written letter. You don't have to apply separately for the scholarship. You simply complete the needaccess.org application and make sure it goes to them. Also fill out the FAFSA. They are looking at both your need and your application itself.

Not sure if I'm going to visit Chicago then. At this point I don't think I'm taking scholarships over higher ranked schools, but if I change my mind I'd have to make a decision to accept my scholarship offers by April 1st. See you at Duke and UVA!

AWESOME

Northwestern $
Thursday, July 05 2007 at 08:00 PM

I'm really interested in attending Northwestern (Fall '08)... did you do anything special in the application process with them, did they offer you a scholarship immediately, etc, etc? Were there any strings attached to the money? (Right now I'm testing between 171 - 176 on practice tests) Thanks for the help and congrats!

Thanks for the helpful info. So the process was pretty easy with Northwestern it sounds like. Do anything special with your personal statement? You mentioned work experience is big - I actually graduated college in 99 so hopefully that helps! UVA is stingy with scholarships aren't they? Did you have to do anything special for Cornell? Thanks again!

do you think that part of the reason they offered you the scholarship was to entice you to wait a year? In other words, does the fact that I already have several years work experience hurt my chances at the 120k?
